- In the year 2000, BIGFOOT traveled to the small Caribbean island of Aruba for a series of shows. For introductions, legendary driver Dan Runte was set to jump into the stadium over a tall concrete wall for that WOW factor. Well, the crowd certainly got wowed as Dan and BIGFOOT went for a wild ride when the truck clipped the top of that tall concrete wall and almost went end over end. Only Dan's driving kept it from doing so. After the stunt-gone-wrong in introductions, Dan and the BIGFOOT team were able to get the damaged truck back out on the track and ran pretty well considering. Teammate Eric Tack (driving #15 as Tonka BIGFOOT) also raced and freestyled.

Dan Runte is definitely a wheel man. Being able to save the truck when it could have ended badly.
Gotta fire whomever built that ramp 😂
definitely lol
The Tonka paint scheme. That Taurus paint/body. Memory: Unlocked
One of my favorite Bigfoot Sponsored paint schemes. I still have my r/c version that Eric Tack signed tucked away in the closet.
Indeed
Considering the damage the truck received, making it back to even make a racing pass is a big win.
It wasnt just a win, it was a miracle, heck it takes hours for the guys at Monster Jam to properly fix an axle, and yet still halfway trough the run it looks like its being held together by ropes and duct tape.
Unexpected danger... Bigfoot and Runte strong enough to save the night and keep running. Love Tonka also, both some of the best looking trucks ever. Loved the big Ford flag in the wind...
I can't remember how many times I watched the original Aruba crash video on the Bigfoot website. The sound from that short pixilated clip will probably stay with me forever.
Adding that ending in showing that little loose pile of dirt 30 feet away from the wall made this even more epic! Only Runte could salvage a debacle waiting to happen like that. Then he somehow landed it, and even returned to finish racing. One more notch in the legend of Bigfoot!
Thanks for uploading another video .👍👍Always enjoy getting that notification.
I was there man,, with my dad and little brother... I was 12 years old back then , Big Foot definitely stole the show.
I've been looking for this video for years, thank you for posting it!!
Ikr, I've only seen clips from this event. Glad Bob recorded just about everything. I'd love to sit and watch every video that's in the Bigfoot vault/video library.
@@waynenorbreyjr9638 that would be amazing!!
3:04 I don't think he expected to have an entrance end like that lol
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for uploading this! I made a video trying to figure out what show this crash happened at and I have finally found the answer! Thank you so much!
I'm assuming that being that that dirt was soft and possibly not compact enough that once Dan made contact with it, it just gave out and totally messed up the just. I'm sure Bob had everything will planned, except that the ramp might give out. Spectacular intro for the fans.
The thing was it rained and some dirts fell of then the ramp did hold the jump
Does anyone know what stadium this is?
Flashback early millennium, aruba 🇦🇼 🙌
fun fact the stadium where this occurred is abandoned
Is it??
Yes its a storage for repo cars now
Yes ,its abandoned
im looking for those like 97-98 big jumps in the all blue body. those are my favorite super hard to find because of monsterjam
Bigfoot 14 And Bigfoot Tonka
I can't help but wonder, why didn't they just put the dirt against the wall? That would have made sure the ramp was high enough.
The dirt was soft enough to compress under the weight of the truck is my guess.
Man whoever took that change to jump that wall had some cajones
Wish Bigfoot would get into monster jam
💪👍❤
The brute racing organization aruba, back in their glory days
The way Bigfoot crashed was he hit the fence when he wasn’t supposed to
Is Bigfoot #14 and #15 still around?
15 still runs the Hotwheels Live tour and 14 is retired
#14 & #15 are still around. #14 is being restored and #15 is currently touring Europe.
They sure are, #14 was in the shop getting some TLC and #15 is running the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live tour with Rebecca Schnell behind the wheel of it.
The guy who built the ramp almost ended Bigfoot's night....
Guess it should've been 6ft tall instead of 5. lol
0:26 A Smart car pulling a parade float themed to the main attraction of the show is a interesting way to get the crowd hyped up.
Well that better crash than made in mtd also i want to see bigfoot attempt a backflip
nah Monster Jam is where you wanna go for that
