    I heard about the Shifting Bracket breaking. I bought from Amazon for 18.00 Canadian. I’ve already had to tweak the adjustments cause the original was difficult to shift, it still doesn’t always go into park easily, I often have to rock the machine as I force it into park. If you adjust so it goes into park, then it’s tough to go into Low, can’t seem to win, Ya get used to it.

    Great video! Just picked up a new 22' Outlander 650 XT last week. I'm located just north of your border (Ottawa, ON) and it's been in the -10C to -30C the last week so no riding yet. But I did want to mention that for those of us living in the cooler parts of the world, please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, do not use a 15w weight engine oil in this machine! You're asking for trouble! Might be okay for the year round hot climates, but definitely not here. Follow the manual. For me, I will be going to a 0w-40 on my first oil change. It's full synthetic and great for the warm and cold months. I am interested in that aluminum shifter plate. How are you liking it?

    • @rotaxrednex
      @rotaxrednex  2 роки тому +1

      I use that in the summer time in Virginia very hot, in winter I use 5W thanks for the comment, Canada would not do well at all at such a heavy weight

    • @viperxbr
      @viperxbr 2 роки тому

      @@rotaxrednex I was thinking about the shifter plate replacement. The issue I see with going to aluminum is the plastic airbox behind it. So the question would be, if something happens and the shifter plate dosen't give, what's the next part in line with it that would...the plastic air box. Would that not be a more costly item to fix than that plate? It's the same idea with installing say stronger, beefier axles for example. You want the axles to give before the differential explodes. A lot cheaper to replace an axle. You can apply the same logic with this shift plate. I'll probably just have a spare on hand incase some happens, like I do a CVT belt, but would pass on the stronger aluminum part. Just a suggestion... Cheers!

    • @rotaxrednex
      @rotaxrednex  2 роки тому +1

      @@viperxbr we have been riding these rigs for a long time and we have even had one of our guys lock up his transmission where he was attempting to force the linkage into position and it never damaged the airbox, how ever we have had multiple plastic linkages break on the trai locking the transmission into one gear (nightmare), but not one issue since we went aluminum with airbox or linkage ... so u don't have to change it but I personally would recommend it.

      21 renegade xmr 1000r. I run 75-140 in both diffs and I fill them until the oil starts to come out of the fill hole. Still running great.

      You are incorrect on both points there bud. That's definitely metal not water, and you do fill until it starts to come out. Educate yourself kid

    Why did yiu use 15w 40 I was told and read to use 5w 40

      Both are 40 weight oils. His 15w is just going to be a bit thicker at 0C than your 5w.

    I was told by a reputable atv mechanic to never use anything but 4 cycle atv oil because car oil foams at high rpm. I use royal purple max cycle oil and their gear oil for the diffs.

      I’m using/buying Amsoil. It’s a few bucks cheaper than the factory fluids and I’m sure it’s better.

    Rotella T6 oil is for Diesel engines. You will most definitely void any warranty using this engine oil. Be aware of this fact if you decide to use that oil yourself. I would recommend to stick with the gasoline oils 5w40 for normal climates and 0w40 for cold climate use.

      @@rotaxrednex "If your vehicle is damaged as a result, the repairs needed won't be covered by the manufacturer. If you're going to do your own oil changes, make sure to use the type of oil recommended by the car manufacturer. "Thats in the manual for your ATV.

      Incorrect kid. That oil will not void your warranty. It meets all specs required
