As always, your approach and philosophy are a source of motivation for me, especially when you mention that we shouldn't limit ourselves to one style. I have attained different kyu levels in 4 different styles of karate (no black yet!) and yellow in Judo, and I find that it all blends together: it complements each other to develop my own style. I really hope I can meet you someday, if you come back to Québec City (Karate Charlesbourg Rudy Duquet) or if I have the opportunity to visit beautiful Sweden again! Cheers!

This is so inspiring. It is paramount that everyone understand that we could all be doing what sensei Jesse is doing if we totally and fully commit to it and we know that nothing comes cheap in terms of commitment and that if you really really want it you have got to sweat for it and what could be better than working your butt off by achieving your dream at the same time. What could be better than fighting day in and day out to make it happen , learning a different lesson every day. Your passion can be karate or it can be something else it doesn't matter, it could even be another martial art or sport or whatever but we all have the potential to live an awesome life by doing what we love, working hard and growing EVERY SINGLE DAY. Sensei Jesse you are such a nice guy and a source of inspiration especially for people like me who have decided to pursue martial arts as a way of life , I will always be ever so grateful to you for the great work you put out and I look forward to working with you when I will finally be running my own dojo because I want my students to meet and learn from one of the most inspiring men that fed my passion and gave me drive. I look forward to attending another one of your seminars. I bow deeply to you sir and I send you many good vibes so that you may continue to do what you are doing and be happy . Oss

Great weapons training. Normally( not all but many) Karate schools do alot of the weapons kata without explaining or performing the applications. I was impressed by the belt /whip sparring. Maybe for a future episode you can do a video about fashion tips outside of the dojo. Many sport athletes and martial artists are not so fashion conscious. Also good luck to your brother. Again not the usual traditional Karate dojo. Your family and the Machidas seem to be pushing the envelope.

Nice video. I really enjoyed the parts where you were teaching class. Most of us realize that you're multilingual, but it's neat to hear you speak a language other than English.
The best part, though, was your victory over the snack jar at 17:15. :)
On a related topic to what you were discussing at that time, I recall hearing that recently a group of Okinawan sensei were discussing the meaning of the word "karate" and that the "empty" did not actually refer to the hand, but the state of mind. That is, "karate" doesn't just refer to a hand without a weapon in it, but also to a hand that acts without thought, i.e. with an empty mind. And that reminds me of your article (or was it a video?) on Shoshin/Mushin/Zanshin. :)

Again a great video! I really appreciate your way of looking at and understanding karate. Your mountain metaphor is very clear and brings out one of the main aspects I‘ve come to love about karate in the last years: we‘re all just a bunch of people trying to find a path, a way. And we are all trying to stay on it. Some of us will go a long way and not give up while some others will quit walking and leave the path along the way. It‘s never about reaching a certain point - like a grading test for example. It‘s actually about walking up this beautiful way. And walking together helping each other is always easier and a lot more fun!! Thank you for sharing with us once again your ‚behind the scenes‘ and for your passion motivating and educating karatekas around the world!! Arigatou gozaimasu!!

Oss sensei. Okay!!! There are so many things I noticed and I loved them this whole video was awesome😍. Okay let me make points.
    1. Sensei you not only teach us karate but also teach us to be a simple man, to lead a simple life. I mean you achieved so much you you live such a simple life.
    2. Your training with oliver sensei was mind blowing. I mean in India we don't train like that. Rather we don't even know so much. Many students got torn ligament coz we can only afford karate training and not any sort of weigh training.
    3. Sensei oliver train like a beast. I mean after watching him I felt I still have so much learn and so much to do.
    4. After hard training again going to teach karate, wow that needs real patience. Teaching is really tough work to do.
    5. Sensei your morning workout was so cool. And that was a nice haircut
    6. I love weapon training I wish I could train with you sensei.
    7. Sensei make more video of this kind. Its cool to see . I saw this with my mom even she enjoyed watching. And Senior Sensei motivate my mom too.
    8. Sensei do Sensei Oliver have a youtube channel too? I'm very much interested in mma too.
    9. I don't know why people here hate other style of karate. I always tell my students to respect all styles after all its karate.
    10. Loved this video. And enjoyed watching this video a lot. Oss Sensei. ❤💕😊😊

Great view on the life of a Karate Nerd!! I like your philosophy on life in Karate, so true! I also enjoyed the leg conditioning and kick training. I also like your Bunkai for Gekisai we have a different version of it but they all work! Lastly, good luck for Spain and watch out for the South African Gushukan team, they are going to take lots of medals!! ;)
