As no cookbook came with my Instant Pot I really appreciate video clips like this that demonstrate BASIC recipes with common vegetables. Thank you. I was wondering if you were going to cover removing the choke from the artichoke.
Great episode!! FYI if you cut the spaghetti squash across the short way the strands are longer! The strands grow around the circle of the gourd...I just learned this 2 weeks ago!
Hi Lisa! My sister just sent me a 6Qt IP. I am in Manila, she’s in California. I tried your Hard Boiled Eggs and wow, am so impressed! They came out perfect. 2 minutes on manual high pressure and 15 minutes of natural release. 😘
Still a newbie. I found cooking baby carrots, a russet potato, and a sweet potato easy. Cooked them in 1 cup of chicken bouillon, salt and pepper. Delicious! I have watched a bunch of your videos to become less intimidated. You are a great coach!
Omg. I thought I was given a spaghetti squash and cooked it in the instant pot. It was a mellon, it came out soft and favorable! 😅😅 After cutting open and finding out, I put it in the fridge to enjoy cold. 😋 Your spaghetti squash recipe worked great on this mellon. Thought you'd like to know 😊
Thanks for this video. I’m cooking a spaghetti squash for the first time and didn’t know how to go about it. I like how I can just toss it in with out cutting first 😀 I hope I’m successful lol
I’ve been cooking artichokes for years (way before instant pot) and I’m so glad to see you post this. I often think people don’t know much about raw artichokes….I actually created an steaming artichoke photo album to show folks. I put Mozzarella in between my leaves or Italian Blen shredded cheese. My hubby calls them Violation Fruit! LOL!
HAHA, I love when you refer to the artichoke as "violent" when snipping the outer leaves. That chuckle I got made me subscribe. So far, I really like your stuff.
Just got a IP Duo Nova and learning on the fly. Your videos have become my go to tutorials. I purchased a steamer basket and some Thermoworks spatulas and silicone trivets. Thank you Lisa!
I didn’t like the spaghetti squash in place of pasta, I need to try half and half like you do for your kids and see if I like it better. We call it call-ee-flower where I live in eastern Canada. I’ve never heard it without the “ee” before this video!
Sorry if this is a silly question; I'm very much a beginner with the Instant Pot, but is it ok to add any seasonings to the veggies before they are steamed? For example I love potatoes with a little bit of olive oil/salt/pepper on the skin, but not sure if that would have to be done after instead with this method.
New subscriber here. Love all these vegetables that you cooked. Did the basket that you cook the artichoke with in the InstaPot came with it or did you buy it seperately? Thanks in advance!
I've had an instant over a year unused. I'm scared to use it. I found an airfryer lid for half price so I'm excited to learn to use. Found your accessories video and am looking to start with some confidence from you. I will watch your instructions videos and I'm here for inspiration today since I'm vegetarian. My desire is probably impossible... 🌟❓❓Any chance for Instapot cooking for a single?. Veggie preferred.
After you open up your artichoke, add minced garlic and some olive oil. You can also make stuffed artichokes. In a bowl, mix minced garlic, olive oil and Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. Stuff the mixture in between the artichoke leaves. Cook and enjoy!
I remember I tried steamed artichoke for the first time and thought you had to eat the whole leaf lol. I remember thinking to myself what all the hype is about lol. My mom came back shortly from the restroom and corrected me on how to eat them.
Don't discard the center, the seeds! Toss it in your compost and you'll get way better soil! (or if you toss them BEFORE cooking, you'll sprout them and you'll get more squash in a few months! Do you know that the so-called baby carrots aren't? All they are is irregular carrots that they cut and tumble to soften the edges ad sell as such. (You know, the carrots that come out of the soil deformed or look like mom and child?)
I’m English and we are known for being fussy about pronunciation but I literally cannot hear the difference when you say cauliflower and when you say cauliflower. They are both fine. Tell him he is lucky to be your husband and stop complaining 😂
Two things about cauliflower, put the cut stem in the basket as well, it is good. Two, after spreading the leaves, put a little "ham dressing" stuffing mix in each leaf as possible. Don't know the timing change but, streamed they are amazing. Oops, a third thing, you didn't mention the artichoke heart, that makes scraping food off the leaf so worth it.
I have lived in 3 major states and multiple cities and never heard anyone say "cau-lih-flower" - it’s cali-ee-flower. Your husband must be used to a regional pronunciation.
The skin on potatoes are sooooo good and nutritious for you though! They aren’t offensive at all to eat, so I don’t get why you’d not eat the potato’s jacket.
Great idea in instant pot... we would stuff them with season breadcrumbs olive oil on top. Pull back the leaves & drop breadcrumbs close to bottom of each leaf.
I recently tried one of your recipes , teriaki chicken and rice and it was easy and delish. This will definitely be a regular for me. I was able to use my new three quart IP.
Call-ee-flower or Call-i-flower!?
Call-i-flower
I keep saying it and bounce back and forth between both ways 😋🙄
Call-ee-flower makes me think of Lassie is a field of daisies, Lol.
Col-I-flower
Yes, it is Call-eh-flower.
the artichokes are also a diuretic

Interesting
Thank you! Great tip!

Collie Flower is good enough for me!

Perfect timing! I just got an artichoke and was gonna steam it but this makes so much more sense in the instant pot. Love the timing tips, thanks!

Very helpful, thanks!
Caw-lee-flower 😊. Your recipes are stupendous 👩🏻🍳
Thank you for your job
Love this video…I like artichokes, but never have them due to not knowing how to make them. I am doing a spaghetti squash as I write this. 👍👍👍
A little hint if you use a serrated knife it makes it easier to cut the artichoke.
Great video! I appreciated you telling how you enjoy eating the vegetables and offering other options, too.
Great instructions!
Thank you for showing me how to cook cauliflower!!
Australia it's always caul-ee-flower 👌
HAHA, I love when you refer to the artichoke as "violent" when snipping the outer leaves. That chuckle I got made me subscribe. So far, I really like your stuff.
lol thanks!!
I call it call- ee -flower. That's how they pronounced it where I grew up. I think there are different regional pronounceations.
I especially love potatoes and have to try making some of them in my Instant Pot and I have a 3 Qt pot and use it regularly for cooking in.
Delighted to see that you have a 3 quart and it suits you well!
Potatoes or po-tat-toe. It's a spud. Same thing. Same premise with the cauliflower.
Just got a IP Duo Nova and learning on the fly. Your videos have become my go to tutorials. I purchased a steamer basket and some Thermoworks spatulas and silicone trivets. Thank you Lisa!
I 💚 artichokes! And so much easier & faster in an IP.
Very helpful
Great video! I never thought to make broccoli in the instant pot. Genius idea.
You could use an ice cream scoop to scrape the seeds from your squash like you would with the seeds in a cantaloupe. Very easy.
Thanks for sharing ❤️
I vote for call-ee-flower so to yourself be true!!😆
I'm excited to try all of these! I say call-uh-flower, never heard the - ee pronunciation before! 😅
I didn’t like the spaghetti squash in place of pasta, I need to try half and half like you do for your kids and see if I like it better.
We call it call-ee-flower where I live in eastern Canada. I’ve never heard it without the “ee” before this video!
Great way to have spaghetti squash without heating up the house.
I've only ever heard it called caul-ee-flower.

I wouldn't think there would be a problem. Keep the potatoes off of the bottom or the oil will be washed off.
Can you do a baked apples equivalent recipe in the instant pot?
New subscriber here. Love all these vegetables that you cooked. Did the basket that you cook the artichoke with in the InstaPot came with it or did you buy it seperately? Thanks in advance!
You’re great 🎉
I didn't find the recipe of the IP spaghetti squash with lemon cream sauce, could you please share the link? Sounds delish. Great tips, thanks!
As a newbie how do I cook multiple veg at the same time please Lisa?
It’s definitely caul E flower
i have the instant pot duo crisp plus i am a food blogger on WordPress artichokes is one of my favorites
what if i want to do 2-3 artichokes? how much time/water per artichoke?
Can you teach us how to cook corn on the cob for 0 minutes?
I have found using a pumpkin carver to cut uncooked squash works great. You know, the little orange ones that come out at Halloween? lol
I've had an instant over a year unused. I'm scared to use it.
I found an airfryer lid for half price so I'm excited to learn to use.

Oh Oh Oh. I am not the only one who have not used my instant pot. I bought an instant pot 3-4 years ago. Hahhaah. It discourages me to use.
At my market they label those orange ones yams and the brown potato looking ones sweet potatoes.
Great ideals

Where can i buy that kind of basket
where do you get a basket?
The choke cut me and still couldn't get at it! How do you easily get at the choke.
Am I adding additional minutes if I have more than one artichoke?
Yes, go by weight
What would be the additional time if cooking 2 1lb ish chokes please?
❤❤❤❤
My doggies will only eat cooked carrots. So easy to make in the IP
It would Be nice to see what settings you're using, actually watch you put the settings on the instapot.
How do I steam a butternut squash😊
Can you use frozen vegetables please?
Cauliflower, one L, short :)
I mixed in a bouillon cube (chicken) into the cup of water, but your time was PERFECT 😋 ! Color and crunch was the best , thanks 🎉
Cau lee flower
CauLEEFLOWER!
Call-ee-flower, though neither is wrong, just regional/accent differences. Don't let anyone tell you different :)
I remember I tried steamed artichoke for the first time and thought you had to eat the whole leaf lol. I remember thinking to myself what all the hype is about lol. My mom came back shortly from the restroom and corrected me on how to eat them.
We have some really large artichokes and strangely I only cook mine for 18 min. 10 min. N.R. now I will be afraid they will be under cooked.
I pronounce it like you too lol
That Spaghetti Squash made a crazy sound XD
Don't think it likes the idea of being pressure-cooked.
Call-eeeeee-flower!!! 😅
Lisa, I tried the discount code for the steamer basket but it was not valid. Do you have another code to try?
Has anyone had any luck getting this 20% off code to work on the steamer basket? Trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. Keeps saying ‘invalid’.
*Broccoli

Cauliflower = Call- E- Flower lol Well that’s at least how I say it.
I’m English and we are known for being fussy about pronunciation but I literally cannot hear the difference when you say cauliflower and when you say cauliflower. They are both fine. Tell him he is lucky to be your husband and stop complaining 😂
Don’t discard the seeds you can roast them and eat them like pumpkin seeds
Call-ee-flower, lol
Call ee flower he would just have to keep making fun of me lol
Damn it I lost my trivet lol
I pronounce it the same way as you... I laugh at your husband’s way of saying it.
i, not eee or uuu
Wear gloves

Thumbs up and subscribed!

This was so helpful. Thank you.
