UI Goku was far more mix options like plus frames and a grab you don't need vanish to convert for, and has full screen tools that make up for smaller normals like 5S being so fast and a nicely angled beam, and his weakness being damage with is understandable considering he also has multiple reversals. Base Goku lacks all of that, like his 236h being terrible in the corner.
Something to note about baseku’s pressure in the corner: He relies on his command grab to open folks up. However, if you use the light command grab, you ain’t gaining no metre because you have to confirm with vanish. Also, it scales terribly. Ideally, you want to hit people with the ex command grab because it’s as fast as the light, and the reward is better in terms of both damage and metre gain (even though metre gain takes a hit because it’s an ex move, it’s still more than you’d get with a vanish), and it’s less expensive. However, people can react to the ex flash. Here’s the set up: after the third hit of his auto combo either ex command grab (delayed because of block stun), or ex elbow. The elbow with catch them mashing and jumping/ back dashing the command grab, and the grab with cover reflect and blocking. If they guard cancel the third hit of the auto combo you have plenty of time to react with an ex elbow. Also, there’s a weird interaction after the third hit of the auto combo in the corner, where follow up special moves push baseku out; making it even more ambiguous. The thing to remember is that this is still RPS and you can get smoked with a reversal. Combine this with the way super dash interacts with the third hit of his auto combo, and that it’s safe on block, it leads to some interesting ways to overload his pressure based on this one move. He’s still outshined by basically every other character in the roster though, lol.

To me, Base Goku is an extremely valuable character to the meter nerf characters of this game. As a Labcoat 21 fan, his B assist gives her and the fusions like Vegito and SSB Gogeta the meter to two touch their opponents like before. I know he's lacking a modern 2m and frame data on his buttons, but to me he's still a valuable anchor character for a team, especially those who like LC21, Vegito, and SSB Gogeta.

His 2m has fine range. His 5l and 5m needs a range buff though and he needs frame 1 ki blast invul on his ex elbow tackle. Also make his medium elbow tackle faster, lower the recovery on his js by 3-4f and make his 5s -1 on block. Also make his beam multi hitting.

God I’ve been playing this dumpster fire of a character for years. Id like to remind everyone that this character could not normally combo into level three for YEARS. He didn’t even get buffed this patch, he got normalized.
I like Baseku point with C assists. Some C assists will allow a meterless combo opportunity from L Command Grab. Any hit with both assists online can lead to combos where you can hit 2 fully charged Spirit Bombs. Then Super Spirit Bomb to setup a guess for character situation. Practically any C assist will open up an unfair way to combo. Where all you have to do is get a lucky hit to snowball in a ridiculous way. My team is Baseku (A), SSJ4 Gogeta (C), Hit (C). With all the meter gain, I can summon Shenron rather easily, and build up the Dragon Balls via Gogeta (C). Hit (C) assist is such a fascinating tool. It works too well on the unsuspecting. You can cancel any level Spirit Bomb into fully charging another Spirit Bomb before the opponent flips out of the 1st one and be able to react to what they do. Getting any hit while already having level 3 Spirit Bomb, with both assists online is potential ToD. In Sparking, 2 Spirit Bombs in a combo will give almost 7 bars instantly. The combos are dirt easy. The hardest thing is confirming after Spirit Bomb with 1S, 2S, or 3S, then learning the assist and cancel timing to get the Fully Charged Spirit Bomb and toss it.
I feel like UI Goku is the worst. Baseku will spirit bomb is a nuke, and he has a good grab. UI Goku damage is not good, and hitting the opponent is harder.
In defense of Beam > SD. It allows him to have meterless corner loops. And how the rejumps work is you need to delay the beam as much as you would for a normal 5H rejump (to about f37).
Baseku’s other assists are good too; his B is good for building meter maybe good for Gogeta Red, or possibly Blue. His C assist is good for neutral, because it’s a beam C with pretty low scaling and ok blockstun.
Only big flaw he has is his medium buttons are really bad compared to the other gokus but if he had blue gokus 2l and mediums, he would probably be the best goku. Having a 20 frame command grab, that lets you convert is really strong. As well as him having zoning nearly as good ssj goku. He's a really strong character held back by mid normals. Where as so many other characters in the game have far reaching normals now, after all the patches. Also give the ex elbow real invincibility.

The KaioKen + LM (R1, the kick that throws into the air) beats almost everything. Even some lvl's 3. Sry if my english is bad.
