I love them both. My collection count is getting embarrassing since I've been a knife lover since I was around 7 years old (I'm 61 years old now). But of all my knives, the Large Stockman is in my top three favorite knives to collect. BTY, love "Saturday Stockman Stamped." Keep up the great work.
That is kind of surprising RJ! This is my second Rough Rider Stockman. My other one is a sowbelly ! I do have a lot of Queen China made stockman's though that are fantastic. Thank you for checking it out brother
Thank you Phillip! They are really nice! I have the moose and this in the tater series. Both great knives!! thanks for checking it out and you also have a great weekend Brother!
I really love the micarta on both knives. For the money, you can't beat that RR. Don't know why Case can't figure out the blade rub. My smooth white bone has terrible blade rub. Thanks for sharing yours today my friend. Have a blessed day,
I honestly think that case does not care about the blade rub cuz that's how they've made these knives for years. It really ticks off a lot of people. But doesn't really bother me. It is a lot of money to spend for a knife that has blade rub though still one of my favorite Stockman patterns. Thank you for checking it out. Ozarks!
Fine review! I believe you described the RR knife as “Turd Brown”. I can’t seem to find a reference for that color in the Federal Selection of Colors Register.
Both are great pieces, just depends on what you want. I want them both, so I’m always buying knives. Did I mention that I’m a knifeaholic? Thanks for sharing and have a great day and week.
I love your intros brother!!! Love having fun !!!😁👊🏻 Let folks say what they want, RRs are dope and sweet! Everyone says they are good for users. I use pretty much everything so when you compare them that way, I think they are pretty darn even! And I say that as a big fan of the 75!
Oh that's very cool cornbread! I tried to use all my knives. I just use my dainty ones less. Thank you for checking it out brother! It's all about having fun!
I need to pick up a 47 pattern Stockman for sure! If you don't have a 75 you definitely got to pick up. At least one got to be my favorite stockman. Thanks for checking it out brother!
@BaxtersBlades if you like the 47, you might check out one of the Queen 3 7/8'' stockmans that Chicago has. Same size, comes in either a sawcut bone, or winterbottom bone with a punch replacing the spey blade. Both covers look great, and the blades are 440C.
@BaxtersBlades That they are. I think it's a shame they are going to stop making them. Another one that's notable if you haven't already, you might try the Rough Ryder Don't Tread On Me stockman. Another good one.
I have a RR Large stockman with glow covers. Its great. The fit and finish is really good and close to zero blade rub. It’s my “around the house” knife for the last month or so.
Based just on build, I think I would have to go with the RR. Seems they out more effort into the design. Price wise, there’s really not much to consider. Thanks for the comparison. Have a great rest of the weekend.
I have the same RR Taterskin Stockman. While the Case is nicer I prefer the RR as a work knife. I quite often carry a RR in yellow delrin and T10 carbon steel blades. I bought a pair of them for $12 each almost a year ago. How can you beat that for a great work knife that you are not afraid to use for whatever needs to be done?
@@BaxtersBlades I watched your video of your collection, part 2 just the other day and those two Sowbelly knives are on my short list now to purchase. Do you know if Tony Bose created the Sowbelly knife? Thanks.
@@UberPilot very cool! No he did not. But thatvis his version of it and he hit it out of the park! Gotta be my favorite sowbelly!! Thanks for watching!
Keep that Case for a while in good condition and it will appreciate in value. In 30 years those 6-8 RR will be worth about 5 bucks a piece. Not to say they aren't great users. I have the burlap micarta trapper and its a fantastic knife. I just don't consider them to be collectors pieces.
I've actually seen dicontinued RRs on ebay sell for $100. so yah never know! Thanks for checking it out Jeremy! I will keep collecting Case though for sure!
I see the Case/RR as a matter of tradeoffs. Case uses larger pins in their construction and gets a higher polish. Tobias says they use a better quality bone. They also have a better chance of collector value. Rough Ryder is significantly cheaper, with better customer service. If something is wrong with a Rough Ryder out of the box, SMKW will just replace it. Case, you have to send it in and hope they'll fix it.
Yah. Everytime ive had a problem with my case i will exchange it to the dealer for another. But after 30 day id have to send to Case if there was a problem. Lucky me that hasnt happend yet. Thank for checking it out!
I love this 75s... Or well all 5 that I have! But this RR is great and gets the job done fine. They do need to release more knives! Wonder when then will drop? Maybe they are bulding up for a big suprise? We can only hope.
RR (and RCB) continue to chase WR Case company. It is hard to beat that RR for the price. Case better be looking over their shoulder. I have the RR tater skin sowbelly in my collection; now I’ll definitely have to add the stockman!😉 Thanks for review!

very cool! I'm very glad you liked it. Thank you so much for watching! Hard to beat a large Stockman
I like this comparison video. I don’t have a single RR stockman. I may need to change that. Good stuff!

They both are really great knives despite the price difference. Thank you for checking it out David. I appreciate it brother!
Great video!
I have multiples of both because the large stockman is one of my favorite patterns.
They are both excellent knives.
Good choice! And very cool. Large document is a fantastic pattern. Thank you for checking it out!
They’re both really good looking knives. The more I see it, the more I like the micarta on that 75 though. Thanks for the comparison brother 👍🏼
It is very nice! Glad i picked this one up!!
Beautiful stockman’s brother! I need to get one of them Tater skin knife’s they look really nice! Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a great weekend!

Right on Stan! I buy both of them also cuz they're both great knives. Thank you for checking it out brother
That case looks sharp. Nice shade of brown
I absolutley love that Case! Thank you Creation Dust!
The scales reminds me of rootbeer. Nice, I like. Thanks.
Very cool Rolf! you should see my antique bone sowbelly stockman! Frozen rootbeer for sure! thank you!

Crazy how similar they really are. Plus the half stops are definitely a plus. Thanks for sharing Andrew. Take care brother.
The half stops are nice but not a deal-breaker to me. Amazing! The price difference though. Both great knives. That Rough Rider is a deal!
Very nice comparison of the two stockman’s. Those Rough Ryders are a tremendous value however Case really shines with its bone handle knives. 👍
They do a fantastic job with their bone and Micarta! Thank you so much! Chris can't go wrong with either of these knives
Nice comparison. I don't have a 75 stockman but I do have the Tater Skin stockman. I really like it. I definitely like the price.
They are amazing for the price!! Thank you Raybo!
Great stuff Andrew. They both look great, but I would take the case for sure 👍
Im with you Steven!! The RR is good but the Case gives me the FIZZ!!!! Thank you!
Yeee hawwww!!!!!! What’s gone on over there? I have to try a 75 pattern I only have the 47’s thanks brother have a fantastic weekend 😊

3:35. Did they used to recess the blades? Blade rub would bother me.
