Increasing developer productivity is the holy grail of software development; it lowers development costs and reduces product time to market, enhancing your chances of success and profit. Who wouldn't want that? But, it is not easy because software development is a complex job influenced by lots of factors. Based on my experience as an AT&T tech lead and manager, I'll examine best practices for developer productivity, how to measure it, and how to leverage Kubernetes and tools like ChatGPT, Github's CoPilot, and Google's Error Prone to contribute to productivity and code quality.

2024: java 8 and eclipse. Why didn't ChatGPT suggest changing it? :) Intellij can do what ErrorProne does and probably better.
