Tmaxx can really take a bashing !! Only downside is the engines aren’t build like they used to be. Crappy plastic carb. Piston and sleeve seize up quick. Bearings constantly going out. They’re are powerful though. Good video and build !
Awesome! Just got a new motor to reflect my 14 year old 3.3 t maxx motor. Can’t wait to break it in. Also can’t wait to see you get that revo. Awesome truck!
Thanks man!! Can’t wait for your tmaxx to be broken in so you can tear up the dirt!! Yeah my revo is coming Tuesday, expect a few videos to come on that thang, I am sooooo excited for it!!
Love it. But have some differences of opinion. A. Ditch the 3.3. Get an OS .21. Far better quality. And built to drop right into the T Maxx. B. Those tires look cool but the extra rotating mass of those things affects handling big time. Get some smaller tires.
Hey man appreciate the comment, I really enjoy reading them. The reason why we don’t get a os 21 is because when you get a engine like that you need to upgrade gears in your transmission, sure the stock one will work but they won’t last to long. And a gear upgrade for these trucks is like $100. And the big tires are super cool. These are monster trucks, so we aren’t looking for super great handling like we would out of our 8th scale buggies. To be frank I drove my dad truck and the truck didn’t handle all that different, it was just a little faster and easier to control. Anyways, thanks for the comment I really appreciate it!
@@GoFastRC thanks for the reply! I’m thinking about putting the same tires on my t max just the hatchet version. Did the extra weight slow his truck down or make him burn out any spur gears or anything drive train related? I heard him saying something about it’s geared up in the video so I figured I would ask.
You need a 17mm wheel hex upgrade and after that they are a direct fit. I think they are revo hexes but i am not sure. Link to wheels: www.amainhobbies.com/duratrax-six-pack-mt-3.8-premounted-monster-truck-tire-black-2-cs-sport-dtxc3582/p968775?v=642332
The red truck is a tmaxx 3.3. It has duratrax 3.8 sized tires. I can’t rennet the name of them but most of the duratrax 3.8 tires look like the ones of my dads truck.
@@blanchard899 his gearing is stock. You might want to try leaning the bottom end a touch. Your blow speed my be rich. But if you try that and it still has a bog issue, try going down a tooth or two on your clutch bell.

Entertaining videos i do say. Ditch the traxxas fuel for real! Nitro fuel runs great between 8 and 12 percent oil and traxxas fuel is around 18% oil! Way to high of oil content, which in return causes a smaller tuning window, and drastic changes in tune leaving you constantly playing with the tune instead of bashing! I recommend buying Bones Brew as it is the same price if not cheaper and a way better fuel. Another thing to add is the stock traxxas carb is very finicky and has almost no tuning window for low speed, is also made of a brittle plastic and under impact situations easily cracks which then starts sucking air through leaning out the engine making tuning impossible. Sometimes these cracks are visible and sometimes visually impossible to notice. The worst part about traxxas's RTR engines is the carb that was designed for the trx2.5 still being used on a trx3.3, very small and very limited in tuning capabilities and on top of that easily cracks rendering it useless. For me, it is a mandatory upgrade to put a different carb onto the trx engines before even breaking them in. Night and Day difference you wont be disappointed in the slightest bit. If you are interested in doing a carb upgrade the two options that i know of are the Losi 3.4 carb ($50 plastic), or the OS 11k carb ($90 metal). I could keep going on but ill leave it at that. Keep burnin Nitro!
Thanks man, really appreciate the comment!! The reason why I like to use traxxas fuel is because its whats readily available. I cant find bones brew anywhere, otherwise I would try it out. And if i order it online it would take for ever since its a combustible product. So I just zip down to the hobby shop pick up traxxas fuel and go burn. I have had a lot of people tell me about the losi and OS carbs, I am getting a revo soon, might do it on that, Wee will see :). Really love the comment man!!
@DavidRC I haven’t tried bone or tnr but I hear good things about them, I will try them out soon tho!! It’s just that traxxas fuel is all that is available with out having to wait for shipping and stuff, but I want to try them out eventually.
Lol 😂 people say it is super bad but it works really well in my dad truck and mine. But it is a little pricy I will give you that. Appreciate the comments man!!
Love that you and your dad get to do rc together man. Cherish these moments together brother. Trust me. I live 700 miles from my dad and he has a nitro too, but I hardly get to see the man. Really enjoy watching these videos, take care buddy!

Good job guys way to go pop she sounds beautiful #nitroisawesome
Thanks for the comment!! It was a lot of fun!! Appreciate the comment, they really help me out!
Great video man! Quick question, what is your camera setup? Could you do a quick video on it? Thanks!
Done ✅
Yeah sounds like geared to high or something like slight hesitation after initially taking off least sounding like that, but looks sick !
Have you thought about updating your tmaxx 2.5 with a dynamite .19 nitro engine?
Where should my idle speed need be .. not the HSN or LSN .. the idle crew... where should that be tuned too
5mm gap in the Venturi. Use a thin paper clip to set it and see how it does.
@@GoFastRC could you make a vid please or email me an howto
Put the 3.3 crankshaft in your 2.5 it make it run so much better, then put the 11k carb on! The 3.3 crankshaft is a direct fit.
Such a fun day!!!!
Heck yeah it was!!
That’s a sweet spot to rip those trucks!
My dad and i found a better spot 😏
You should get a Dynamite .19T engine for your 2.5 tmaxx. I put one in my 2.5 tmaxx it really fast. It is faster than my friends Revo.
Loved it!
Thanks for the comment!
Did your dad change the gearing because of the bigger tires or did he leave the stock ones?
They are stock
