Lovely Lombok

A week-long trip to Lombok Island, in Indonesia. Our guide was Gede from G Adventures. Features a traditional Sasak village, Kuta, surfing at Seger Reef, the Tetebatu rice terraces, the Gili Islands (Gili Trawangan. and Gili Air), and snorkelling.

Looming multi billion dollar resort development planned for this island has me worried. It already began in earnest with the mandalika tourist complex development. And there's more on the way.
Every time I think about coming back to Lombok I hear more reports of growing commercialization and mass tourism expansion.
