I hope this video was helpful and educational for you guys! 😊What is the #1 thing you’re taking away from this video and implementing in your own wholesale journey? Let me know in the comments!

Your honesty is so refreshing and appreciated! Struggling with making a living will always be around. Personally, I am scared to death to purchase any blind boxes - ever again. So much money sent to receive items that are older than me 😂 or low retail, low resale, etc. I’m to the point where if the company can’t manifest - they don’t need my money. I am a much smaller business though. Hoping to grow but pallets scare me! Thank you again for the educational content, keeping reality in the business and just being you. Cheers to you and your family 🎉

I was going to start buying wholesale a few years ago but just couldn't do it lol. I think the fear of getting completely screwed held me back. Honestly I like to pick out my own inventory so it all worked out in the end. Hope you are doing well friend!

Hi Ashley, thank you for sharing your experiences. Im just starting out in reselling and oh boy Im excited but scared. Im really looking forward to learning and succeeding in this realm. Thanks again for sharing.

This definitely helped me understand why resellers are so reluctant to share their sources. I once found out exactly what a relative was up to (and with whom) while in Vegas with nothing other than a burner number. But I cannot find where you guys are sourcing your inventory no matter how much time I spend trying 😂😂😂😭😭😭

Wow that’s crazy! Yeah unfortunately I’ve lost friendship because people thought I was trying to get their buyers. My mouth dropped. I’ve never experienced a more cut throat part of reselling. It almost made me want to quit last year. Having people believe things about me that they made up was not on my 2023 bingo card. I stay in my lane and try to help you as much as possible. That’s why I made this series

Girl I am so sorry this happened to you and really appreciate you sharing these experiences. I had debated about doing some pallets for whatnot and other platforms but in the last couple months I decided against it. My business is a cash business, I don't use credit to run and I'm really happy with just boxes for now. My heart so goes out to you and hope the current pallets you have are a blessing to help you move forward. You rock girl and are such a hard worker, keep going, you got this!! ❤❤

You're so sweet. We are finally back in the green on a lot of what we have. It comes with the territory and that's why I wanted to share what I went through. We learned so much through this season.

I have also found that the wholesale business may be good, but their employee/representative can make or break it for you. When the wholesaler I was buying from did a restructuring and then assigned me a new rep based on geographic location, the first rep I was working with kinda sorta tried to alert me without disparaging her coworker. I misread her intentions. I could have requested to stay with the rep I had, but having been involved in doing a restructure myself while in corporate America, I decided to go with the flow. It didn’t work out for me and I’m no longer interested in buying from that company. In hindsight, that was a blessing because I now realize that the items I source the old fashioned way, in the wild, sell faster with higher profit margins. Drive to dig through bins, or dig through pallets taking up my garage… bins and thrift, here I come!

  • @rachelcarlsonnotesfromthenomad

UGH. So sorry this happened. Words vs actions when it comes to shady characters. Taking risks to learn valuable lessons is essential to sustainable success. Sucks that this happens, sucks that you went through it but as long as the lessons are learned you now know what to look for and the questions to ask to avoid such things in the future. I will probably(?) never do wholesale because of different variables for me but now I know what to look for and/or avoid. You and Jeff are amazing at what you do hence GOOD people come out of it BETTER people. Thanks for sharing the negative to protect others. Cheering you guys on!!

Awe! Thank you Rachel. Yes, we are definitely doing more half and half when it comes to wholesale vs thrifted. I still love the thrill of the hunt, so I could never stop that completely.

I know a lot of resellers do great with liquidation but I just don’t see the appeal. Especially with live sales, it seems like sellers are working crazy hard to move lots of product with low profit per item. I would rather sell 1 item for $50 than 5 items for $10. I hand select all my items and try to only source items that I can reasonably list for $50+. It’s great that we can have different business models in this community.

Ashley I am so sorry that this happened to you, esp with regard to your mortgage. I know how scary that can be. I am glad you were able to salvage a Christmas for your family. I would love to know what the liquidators are that were so bad, so I can avoid them myself.

Honestly these stories came from so many wholesalers, and I've talked with friends who have had situations like mine and I end up having a better experience with the company. So I don't know if it's because of who I spoke with, whose in charge or what. The common thing I've seen is everyones experience is different. Which is why I recommend the things I did in my first video of this series.

You should share the names of the wholesale businesses so other people don’t get hurt by them. I’m so sorry you had to go through this.

Thank you, honestly this was several different wholesalers. Then while I was talking with friends, my good experiences I had with companies, they didn't have a good experience with. Which is why I didn't want to blast all of these companies. It was more about the value of what was learned when this happened. But I would recommend watching the first video of this series because I give several tips on how to work with wholesalers that would resolve some of what I shared in this video.

    1. Won't your credit card company give you your money back if suppliers don't deliver? I've only bought liquidation one time and only bought one box--but paid with a credit card. . 2. I wish you'd shared who the baddies are -- otherwise it will just happen to your viewers. If you're just giving an honest assessment of a situation you shouldn't have a legal issue.

I think I will stick to Goodwill bins - I just can't sell things that I don't like. No enthusiasm. And looks like just too many people buying and selling that this market is saturated. 15/20 years ago I would buy truckloads of Target shelf pulls. (childrens' clothing) ALWAYS totally happy. Spread everything out and my granddaughters and I would assemble 8 or 9 total outfits and put them on ebay. Not the same anymore.

Thx I am a beginner and wanted to know if you have any knowledge of direct liquidation and if they are a legit company. They claim they can only accept wire transfers and I was going to be receive truckload of kohls new merchandise. Any help will be great.

    • @AshleyWheeler2.0
      @AshleyWheeler2.0  8 місяців тому

If you’re ever considering a truckload, get eyes on that truckload before you buy. Commonly they will want a wire transfer, but if you are planning to invest that much in a truckload, fly to the inventory first before you say yes. 2 months ago I watched a seller get scammed out of $100,000 and almost lost everything. Just be careful

@@AshleyWheeler2.0 oh okay but sometimes they can’t be seen because they say they all come from the retailer directly. Is that never true BECSUSE I’m also concerned about cherry picking.
What are your thoughts with Quick Lots? They take credit cards so I am
      More trusting
