Do you have a choice of modules or are they the same for every degree?
Can you go on a degree apprenticeship if you already have student loans from an undergraduate degree? Presumably you don't get funding?
I don’t have a choice for any of the modules that I study.
In terms of the degree apprenticeship it depends on the uni or employer. I am aware that there are such programmes called a graduate apprenticeship but I don’t know enough details about them to comment properly. I suggest looking at the University of Law’s website in their apprenticeship section. That’s where I saw it.
Hi, so basically lets say I become a qualified solicitor through apprenticeship and then I want to become a barrister, Can I do that?
Hello Nimra! I’m not aware of any restrictions on becoming a barrister after you qualify as a solicitor. It’s worth researching because I know know the answer with 100% certainty
What A levels did u take and what did you get if u don’t mind ?
No worries! I chose French, philosophy and classical civilisation (I dropped English literature)
Will doing bio chem and maths at a level put me at a disadvantage
Not necessarily! You’d have lots of transferable skills but it really depends on the firm and their preferences. Just make sure you can communicate well why you are a successful candidate and how the skills you’ve pick up from those subjects can help you in your chosen apprenticeship.
2:58 But everybody is saying you have to balance a full time job and degree.
Indeed you do. I explain further in my ‘check in’ videos. In there I explain, in essence everything up until third year was fine for me and then the degree became more complex content wise.
What firm do you work in?
