If you’ve read the book ‘Animal Farm’ - you’ll get it. Also, it’s one take, and if you’ll note, the spacers with the ‘swamp creatures/cats’ allows Ren to reposition for the next segment. From what I’ve read, this was filmed in one of his mate’s apartments.. and a bunch of his friends play all the parts!! It’s a fun video, and the acoustic version is really good. Great reaction.. new sub here!
Ren had a (pocket change) budget for this one. He purchased the masks on Amazon a year before and the price of the meat. Ren asked his friends to bring their friends that wanted to be in a music video. They started shooting in the afternoon and didn't finish until 4 or 5am. Those friends will not volunteer again because Ren worked them to death after numerous attempts to get it perfect (1 shot video). Him and his friends snuck into the neighbors yards and gave trees and bushes hair cuts to decorate the apartment. The apartment belongs to a friend. (All) his videos are under $1500.00 except for MG3. That one was around $30,000-$50,000. Having no money made Ren get creative.
They used Ren's friend's apartment/building. It was a one take but it took 9 hours to film (from 7 pm to 4 am). I think Ren said there were about 30 people involved - all friends rather than paid actors etc
Also where he shot the fast rapping part of “Losing it”; and the bits on the stairs and his bedroom where he’s “mixing it”, and the same roof for Bongo Bongo :)
❤💜💙 This song is about the ills of society. This is what Ren said about it in Rolling Stone interview. "This one was inspired by George Orwell’s Animal Farm, and Lord Of The Flies. I was also massively inspired by Black Skinhead by Kanye for the beat. It brings you into this dark tribal chaotic world. I loved playing about with the sonics of this one in the production"
I suspect that the “oompa loompa” sound is supposed to remind you of the creatures in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. Ren was obviously a fan as he references the book/movie in “The Hunger” (“Golden ticket, Wonka”). Roald Dahl, the author, is also Welsh and (coincidently) died the same year that Ren was born (1990).
hello dear!! hey, i think we have had the same dealer!!! lol ! the yum yum yums crack me up!! the bts of this shoot is chaos to me. they borrowed the foilage for the set from around town!! great reaction!!!!!! kathleen 🙃
Yep, the door he goes out of is on Ship street (where many of the busking videos were shot), and in Violets tale he leaves out the back of the same building. It’s also the same apartment in What you Want I think, but not 100% in that bit :)
Hello from Brighton! The building is the old post office that's been turned to flats, opposite is where a lot of rens busking is done, and I think the basement is where he filmed hi ren , sick boi and violets tale. It's his mates flat 😊
Hahaha, I love how Ren's videos always makes you so bewildered you have to laugh - I do the same every time I watch this one, it's so freaky, but funny, but amazing, and catchy! 😂😂
I was giggling right along with you Bro! Your laughing is contagious. According to Ren this video shoot was a B*tch to pull off cuz it took all night. Keep bringing Bro!!
There are lot of references to paintings, books and films in this video. And of course you should laugh, there is often humor in Ren's songs and videos, sometimes a bit strange for some. Yes, this is one shot, must have been difficult. Many takes. You should look at the acoustic version.
Do The Big Push, Bongo Bong and you’ll see the rooftop from murderer in a different light. There’s also an interview of Ren where he takes you into his apartment to show you his favorite possessions. His apartment also makes a few cameos in Losing It.
Is that the ex-Leader of South Africa? Nissan main dealer? (That’s the punch line of a very long joke about Nelson Mandela getting car transporters showing up and delivering lots of cars to him…because the delivery driver was told to deliver them to Nissan Main dealer…just whenever I hear the word dealer, I remember that joke)
Song drops by Ren do not follow any pattern. He makes many at a time and releases them as the desire or whim strikes him. So drop dates do not often makes sense in any straight line way.
Metal brother, Animal Flow's acoustic version inside a moving bus will blow your brains out. You need to see it now!!

This song is used in a Mitsubishi car commercial in Australia! Mitsubishi contacted Ren & his team and paid him for the use. Very cool.
The acoustic version of this is my favorite.
Might as well check out "Illest Of Our Time" next. It's another video with the animal cast.
The apartment in "Murderer" was Ren's & Romain's for about 5 years. Gorran eventually moved in, too.
Also where he shot the fast rapping part of “Losing it”; and the bits on the stairs and his bedroom where he’s “mixing it”, and the same roof for Bongo Bongo :)
One continuous shot! The last shot is straight out og Clockwork Orange. Ren loves Kubrik

This is Rens friends apt, i believe Violets tale from Jenny & Screech was filmed in the basement of this apt block 😊

Great reaction one take you need to do the live accustic one it's fire 😊😊

Ah - is it where Hi Ren was done too? I’ve been trying to find clues where that was done.

Awesome reaction! This is one of my fave songs just soo many easter egs and just a fun song!!
The guy who was kidnapped in Murderer is in the beginning of the video. Correct me if I’m wrong Renegades
Yup. In both videos, it's Flackerz tied up
@@jasonremy1627 I deleted my comment as yep, that’s def him. Sorry for my confusion.

Have you seen clockwork orange? If. So can you see the inspiration…😊
You make me laugh with all your laughing.

Great reaction, I prefer the live version, thank you again 🙏🦉❤️🐊👍
The Apartment in Murderer was Ren’s Apartment.
Do The Big Push, Bongo Bong and you’ll see the rooftop from murderer in a different light. There’s also an interview of Ren where he takes you into his apartment to show you his favorite possessions. His apartment also makes a few cameos in Losing It.
I’ve been to that same dealer

with all your laughing during this, I get it, it was fun. But what were you really smoking? LOL
Murderer, the one in the pig mask is Nox Hill
