I think drain you is one of the few songs kurt WANTED to sound catching (and maybe even a bit pop). I cant quote him but i think he said hes surprised that drain you isnt the most popular song of the band. This sounds sick nevertheless man, keep it up 💛
Nice work, man! Added a harmony in the chorus too I hear. I think Albini would've mixed the vocals on the quieter side though. Cobain complained about it once, lol.
The main differences I have spotted is that the drums are louder and the guitar is a lot less beefy when playing. It’s definitely what stands out about In Utero so this is probably one of the best mixes of a Nevermind song played with In Utero Tone.
To my undertsanding, the difference is the mixing and mastering of the instruments/vocals. If you listen closely and compare, you can hear the difference in levels of clarity and loudness in the background and foreground of each track. Each person probably mixes these things differently to give it a certain feel to it. Kind of like how hearing it live and hearing it studio recorded are different, there are different techniques ppl use to make things pop or stand out better. Like in this remaster you can hear Kurt's scream a lot more clearly than in the og version. Don't quote me tho as I know very little about the actual process and probably have a few things wrong, but that's my understanding of it.

It deserves the number 1 at least more than Smells Like Teen Spirit. (I still think "BLEACH" is better)
@@blendingsentinel4797 Bleach fucking rules.
All of their songs are catchy
Maybe in an alternate universe their breakthrough song was Drain You instead of SLTS and Kurt hated Drain You but loved SLTS.
Kurt wrote poppy songs on purpose. That was Nirvana's thing, they were catchy.

What do we have to do to help you. Lol.
I'll petition Butch Vig
Moveon.fuckit
this is really good
It should be in Eb
I would guess he tried his best to make it sound better than the original but I don't think this was the main objective, sounds good anyway :)
yeah i was leaning more towards making it sound more like in utero rather than making it “my way”
The snare drum sounds too compressed during the very loud parts in this mix compared to my 1991 era vinyl LP.
Sounds like Dave switched to darker toned Zildjian cymbals.
definently a lot less reverb on his voice if you want it to be an in utero sound, amazing work though.
Suena bien, pero por la energía viva de la canción no se siente el aire sombrío de in utero xd

La original tiene muchas guitarras

@@playthefoolboise wow that sounds really good! i fw that song 🤘
sounds good but not better than original, guitars are a bit too quiet compared to vocals
yeah its hard to beat the og, i didnt rly notice the vocal level til i listened on phone
@@abadomen then it's probably has to do something with phone speakers, I've heard it really messes up sound channels, so that it sounds like that
@@postpavilion true, my phone plays things in mono so the guitar sounds more drowned out by vocals compared to listening in headphones and monitors
Drums is not so loud like on In Utero
eh i guess
sliver bleach remaster and smells like teen spirit insecticide remaster
Sounds better than nevermind version, than version Sounds too clean. This Sounds more live which is how I like drain you.
How do these remasters differ from the original? The cover?

nice I prefer original
ok
It sounds the exact same Whats so different about it
lol what
what
Don't believe. I expect more raw guitars, like in Frances Farmer and other In Utero songs. Here is too much reverb.
