Such a insane set consider Sandstorm quit the game until this tourney. Dude is still contesting the top NA players and placed 9th in the hardest tourney to date. Mad respect

I knew the moment sandstorm landed on the wall that he lost all momentum. He overextended and didin't land on stage. After that everything went downhill for him

Sandstorm is still insane, idc what any of you have to say. Sting Ray is just an incredible player, his evolution through the years is really something.

sting ray is such a beast, his sig usage is so on point. for those who said sting ray is a mindless sig spammer, its a big wrong. as a plat, i dont get bothered by sig spammers because any move in the game is an option and i consider sig spamming is easy to counter if they cant use it on point. sting ray is on a whole another level. his sig usage and his movements are quite unpredictable. GGs for both sting ray and sandstorm

how? sandstorm switched to gaunts with stingray already in red and then only landed like one side light before getting killed off a dodge read cause he kept dodging down out of slight when he knows how much stingray likes to use dsig on spear

hilarious seeing these golds calling Stingray a sig spammer, it takes a lot of skill to use sigs as precisely and accurately as he does, especially at a pro level.
Especially if it's over 50% of the moves you're spamming. Mad props. Seriously though His lance can be seen by pretty much every plat lance player which shows you how fucking annoying that weapon can be. His spear has crazy potential though.
Agreed but these are orion sigs, that means easier to hit. His spear is super nice but lance will forever be the “i can’t hit you without my big stick” weapon in my mind

from what am seeing in these games it seems like sandstorm playstyle has kinda changed he hardly uses sigs, and Mordex is one of those legends u can throw sigs out with at times and don't get punished at all
Notice how proactive pros are with their dodges nowadays. Stingray perfectly dodged thru a scythe ssig like it was nothing. Pros are relying more and more or less risky options because the movement at the pro level has evolved so much.

Sandstorm definitely fell off but that doesn't mean he can't recover, apparently he's gonna continue to consistently play brawl next year so we won't get a rusty SS whos not as active, I'm not saying he'll be next BCX champion but he'll defo do better next year if he commits

Well, he came to bcx with very little training, compared to all the pros who were preparing for this all year. He literally quit for almost a year and almost beat Stingray at bcx, who has been practicing nonstop throughout the year.
Considering how he just got back into the game, teaming with Boomie as well, this is definitely not the end for him. Although I agree it would have been cooler if he just stayed gone with a legendary record.
Seeing Sting Ray win is like not hearing a crunch after stepping on a nice leaf. He moved on but didnt do anything interesting aside from that one ground pound in the last match. Just got really good at doing the same thing orions do in gold and plat. Kinda disappointing...

But many other weapons would have killed there with groundpound aswell:
-Hammer, Cannon, Blasters, Bow and Orb groundpound would have all killed there

No shit he quit the game for like half a year to come back for bxc with little training and still placed top10 in the most competitive tournament to date. Almost all pros practice all year for BCX and still fail to place nearly as high. You have no idea what you're talking about

Takes a lot of skill to throw out sigs at pro level, they are incredibly easy to punish vs light attacks
