Hi Jo, just came across your video. What a trip down memory lane that was! What you said about my self portrait just warmed my heart 🖤 and I agree, I would've loved to have more volume in my final painting. I definitely needed more time 😅

Happy to see you're doing the rest of season 10! I was very pleased with the winner of this one. Her work is wonderful. Not that the others weren't too. Those subtle diagonals in her sweater in her self portrait were just so perfect. Love the way she handles colour and her brushes. Thought the tattoo artist's self portrait was amazing also. Very striking and dramatic. I liked the way your friend Hannah handled the hair of her subject, with the abstracted brushwork, and the quick highlights of desaturated violet.

Absolutely loved watching this! Thank you for the kind words about my painting of Josh! If you ever want to chat to another contestant I'd be happy to offer 😊

I’ve been thinking… after years of complaining ( to myself mostly) about the lack of watercolorists being selected…. One can’t do “ wet on wet” on this show…. Wetting the paper, putting on some paint…coming back in a few hours after that initial layer has dried… well…. No one would be there…..it would be an empty hall..🎆🎆🎆🎯🎯🎯… so there are severe limitations of water coloring styles that can be used…

@@wmbriggz watercolor is under represented. I use a hair dryer because I cannot stand to wait for water to dry. I loose my concentration if I do.
