Barcelona Guitar Trio (Xavier Coll, Ali Arango and Luis Robisco) fuses both Spanish and flamenco guitar and pays tribute to Paco de Lucía performing "Mediterranean Sundance / Río Ancho" at the Palau de la Música Catalana, in Barcelona, during one of its performances at the festival Maestros de la Guitarra. The Palau, one of the most admired buildings in the city, is famous for hosting some of the best musicians worldwide and it's also known as "jewel of the Catalan modernism". They are accompanied on stage by the percussionist Lucas Balbo and the Spanish dancers Carol Morgado and Jose Manuel Alvarez.

Este tema me trae recuerdos imborrables de aquel ya lejano 1981, en el que aquellos tres monstruos hicieron uno de los conciertos mas miticos de la humanidad, en San Francisco, y que empezaron con estos "Mediterranean Sundance / Rio Ancho". Aun me acuerdo cuando vi el concierto a los pocos dias (lo vi en video VHF unas semanas despues) que se me puso la carne de gallina cuando arrancaron con esta pieza. Recuerdo que pense... "¿pero qué es esto?" ¿de donde han salido estos tipos?
