I know Dr. R C Sproul passed away but I am writing this comment any way. He is my best favorite biblical teacher ever. One of the best compliments I ever received is that a woman I only briefly met and had not shared personal info, asked me, “Are you a believer? It shows.” I felt like Jesus gave me a big smile. RC rest in peace. Thanks, RC.
My Mom has long said that one of the most important promises her and my Dad made to each other was to never, under any circumstance, disrespect one another or call each other an unkind name. No matter how serious the fight, it was important that they not forget who it is that they married and how those words can cut to the bone and burden a relationship for years to come
RC Sproul is not only an excellent teacher of the Bible, a great preacher and a talented story teller. His videos have brought me closer to the Lord than anything else I have known in 53 years of my life.
"I can allow myself to be flattered and therefore tempted or I can see that as a threat to what I cherish..." What a beautiful powerful statement! I heard this first on the radio and had to run home and relisten and write it down. I have since shared it with many people that were not aware that allowing oneself to be flattered is fraught with danger...
He says all the things that are counterintuitive but they're actually the most logical rational cogent explanation for so many ignorances we all have... he is a genius
The power of the tounge goes to a whole ‘nother level if someone’s love language is Words of Affirmation. Such people place a higher emphasis on the words spoken to them. They feel most loved when kind words are showered on them and will be most hurt when harsh criticisms and black words are thrown at them.
I have always told my kids that it is God's opinion that matters not what other people think. If we know who we are in God then we can readily dismiss the hurtful opinions of others. We should treat people as we would like to be treated. If we do both things then we will be fine no matter what comes.
God spoke existence into being. The apostle John’s gospel starts with, “In the beginning was the Word.” Language is powerful. It’s still the most effective tool mankind has to effect change upon the world. It’s my belief that when it is said we are made in His image, a part of that, at least, is language. When I was a teenager, my brother, a militant vegan at the time, told me I smelled like rotting meat due to the fact that despite his misgivings, I enjoy meat. Twenty years later I still try to avoid getting too close to people for fear of offending them with my scent. Things balanced out though. My beard is a glorious mane Azlan would be proud of. His beard is a spotty mess that makes Tom Cruise look like a nineteenth century president.
Just a word from heaven !! May we always remember how vital words are in our relantionships good , kind and biblical no wonder “ in the beginning was the WORD Jesus the loving Master and Savior

I appreciate how natural real stable and organic his teaching style is. It’s like hanging out with a friend

Anyone know where I can find the “arrow and spoken word” he mentions at 24:05 ? I can’t seem to find it. your help is appreciated.
Psalm 64:3 is one. It's all a pondering because of the truth. Metaphor
So, what is the right way to give constructive criticism?
Thank you very much for these ☺️

26:15
hard to give Love specialy when a man is emasculated
22:00 unkind, thoughtless remark
What?
*click to twenty-two minute mark*
R.C.: “And I made a vow to my wife that I would cherish her.”
Yeah, so thoughtless?¿
