Regarding the roads… spot on. I’m finding my hunter 350 more and more over the 650. The little j-series is ideal for the UK. The irony…. 2024 and all these high powered/electronic laden bikes are available . However, it’s the little thumpers that are the most suitable😂

I totally agree about the UK roads - dreadful! Pot holes everywhere and (often) inexplicable road works, where you seldom see anybody actually working. I've seen videos of rides in the likes of Switzerland, for instance, where the roads are in beautiful condition, even in the mountains where they get loads of snow.
Loads of road crews, even when roads are left passable, are too lazy to turn the closed signs round after their shifts, kind of sums up the attitude of many. Nice ride out in the Autumn sun - love the sound of that 350. I'm based in Brighton but don't worry VB, I won't ask if you want a blast out - though the lanes in Sussex are well worth an after work sortie. ...oh and upside down bars suit red.
There's just something about an evening ride in the summertime. Wish I had the nice country roads like you have, but on an evening like the one in the video, any road will do. Love those Brit singles too!

I am with you feeling cheated by the weird weather, and I'm on the other side of the planet in the big old colony. If it's not weeks of wind, it'll be floods or fire. There is often so much reflective material floating around in the atmosphere, you can almost stare at the sun. I could go mad if not for Dr Enfield.
That's a lovely Bullet. I don't dislike your new cafe racer, it's an interesting bike although not the style of bike that I'm into. Like you, I have no desire to ride in company with other people but most of my rides are quite short anyway. And I'm still subscribed!

A friend of mine is a artic driver. He has to go to Perivale Middlesex from Tonbridge. He got there and found for the return journey the M25 east bound was closed to him. Diversion towards London. Got half way down that and the road was shut! He had to go, like you all the way around M25 the other way. He was lucky that another road closure on a main arterial was by then just being opened in the morning. Subscriber wise I've no problem but some people watching on tv screens can click somehow to unsubscribe. I watch on a pc so don't know how that worx. Any way good luck with the carbon dating🤗

I think the café racer is an absolute beauty, and turning the bars around has finished of the look perfectly. A younger me without any hip issues would be very excited to have that in my garage. I am convinced the road issue is down to little more that piss poor 'jobsworth' management. I am British but have spent over half my life in South Africa. Our roads here are range from pretty bad to diabolical, with a few good bits thrown in and that's in the city area. Once you get out on the open road, it can be seriously dangerous. I was once driving back to Johannesburg from a mining town in the north at night and ended up in a pothole that was bigger than my car. The drop into it was nearly a foot. Having said all that, when the powers that be get their asses into gear and decide to fix a bit of road it is done and done quickly. I don't remember seeing roads closed for long periods like you do in the UK. Lovely video as usual mate. Have a good one.

You have too many people on your island in the middle of the sea.. Twice the size of my small country, but 10 times the people. It's normal to be congested with all that cars. I have sold my modern injection 125 and returning on a old carbureted bike 😀😀😀 .. The one thing that I love about the electronics on bikes is the ignition. Not that is better or worse then points, but is has automatic variable spark angle depending on the rpms. The one thing I don't like is the permeant magnet rotors and the 3 phase rectifier at the end .. I like winded rotors with brushes more.
Just as an aside I have just fitted a Bullet dark brown touring seat to my Halcyon Green Classic 350 so I now have a Classic/Bullet ! 😂 What a fantastic seat and more comfortable than the Classic touring seats. It’s Glyn Owen’s fault ! Loved your Bullet ride and enjoy the cafe racer videos as well Ps I still think you should have kept the dozer video loved that as well 😊

Well I’m one of the people who loves your café racer and yes it looks better with the bars turned upside down. My settings are still set to subscribed and notifications for ALL videos for your channel. I don’t believe that I’ve ever been unsubscribed from a channel by UA-cam but on some channels (not yours) I definitely don’t receive all notifications. When I spot this I check my notifications bell and even if it says ALL is on I switch it off and then back on again. This usually works. Very rarely do I dislike a video and certainly not yours. I never dislike a video for bad quality, I usually think the UA-camr is doing their best so who am I to give them a black mark. But if someone says or does something that annoys me I’ll give them a dislike. I don’t know if where you live or your place of work are technically in the South East but you do commute through the South East which is the most populated region so I can’t imagine riding there is much fun. Everywhere is busier than it used to be but not to the extent of London/South East. Around here roads go down to one lane with traffic lights for no reason at all, I’m sure a lot of it is health and safety related I.e. protecting the workforce if what they are doing (Telecoms, Water, whatever) is anywhere near a road 🇬🇧
@stewy62 UA-cam works in strange ways! I'm in East Anglia which is in the east and where I'm Currently working is down on the south east coast, so yes, i do travel around that London. Massive traffic jam a week or two ago on the M25. it was an 18 wheeled crane that had broken down, but was on the hard shoulder, Cops had closed 3 of the 4 lanes forcing all 4 lanes into 1..Wonderful!
I don't envy you your commute to Sussex!,although i think you're right in saying the South downs are spectacular, the cafe racer looks good with the bars turned over,when I was younger (about 35 years ago), I was always riding in groups, and going on MAG runs and demos,but nowadays, the reason I ride is for the freedom, so there's absolutely no point in me riding with anyone else, for the reasons you said!and lastly if its any consolation, the roads in Wiltshire are either closed, full of potholes, or bunged up with traffic,or quite often all three!,great video thanks for sharing VB👍

Hi nice to see some different scenery. I actually did one of your routes from Bures to Nayland. Tried to end up at the river walk Hadleigh on the way back but ended up at Polstead. The dislikes you are getting could be people just watching UA-cam off an algerhythm ( UA-cam auto play) . Disliking a video will show them less videos like the one they dislike. We used to do this at work when listening to music off UA-cam. Looking forward to your next video and seeing which bike you're riding.
Loads of our roads are shut now, they just do it when they feel like it and you only find out it's shut when you get there, after years of no work they want to dig up everywhere. Also agree about solo riding.

The old 350 is "The Scarecrow" from Wizard of Oz. It's not just the roads, I have been following things and the UK seems to be starting a five year death loop......

Exactly how I feel. Trying to experience a bit of empty road now is rare. Maybe up in Scotland still? Just got to get up very early for a a bit of solitude…. short lived. We’re full up I guess 🫤 Love the quiet…ish lanes. In a world of tech it’s so much nicer just to follow your nose. I’m lucky enough to have similar favourites and some new ones I still stumble across, (unless I forgot I’d already been there 😄) here in Dorset. I would say to everyone who uses single track roads though, please, slow down! Tearing around blinds is not clever.
Great ride, I like riding my Bullet 500 and sidecar on my own. It's so slow but I can enjoy the scenery.

The old 350 is "The Scarecrow" from Wizard of Oz. It's not just the roads, I have been following things and the UK seems to be starting a five year death loop......

@@Volcanicbrown1878 Great bike the Thruxton got it cheap , its 1200 not the R , but at idle and near idle it doesn't run to well , did have Enfield 350 superstar (one with chrome tank ) nice bike

Exactly how I feel. Trying to experience a bit of empty road now is rare. Maybe up in Scotland still? Just got to get up very early for a a bit of solitude…. short lived. We’re full up I guess 🫤
Love the quiet…ish lanes. In a world of tech it’s so much nicer just to follow your nose. I’m lucky enough to have similar favourites and some new ones I still stumble across, (unless I forgot I’d already been there 😄) here in Dorset. I would say to everyone who uses single track roads though, please, slow down! Tearing around blinds is not clever.
