    LOVE RALPH! Its with a heavy heart I'm watching this from just hearing hearring he's not with us anymore. I will hold his playing in the highest regard and keep it with me for rest of my life. Rip to one of the greats. Other than his being one of the best drummers he was always such a likeable guy to me and hurts a bit more because of that.

    "For me, phrasing is more important than pitch. Because if I play the proper phrasings, I can make you hear the pitch as I want."

    Sweating profusely already at the Q&A?! That's some serious business. No, but really, Ralph is one of the top players for sure.

    Kinda sad to see people expect the jazz bass drum to sound like the rock or metal bass drum.

    • @drewper73
      @drewper73 11 років тому +6

      God help the uneducated throngs who don't know the difference between the way a jazz kit and a rock kit are supposed to sound. In other words, I agree with you!

    • @handidrummed
      @handidrummed 9 років тому +4

      +drewper73 The same goes for tom tuning. So many drummers on UA-cam will comment and say that "The toms sound terrible!" when they're tuned for jazz.

    • @howardfranklinii6547
      @howardfranklinii6547 6 років тому +1

      @@handidrummed because they don't understand pitch. Whereas, its not as important in Rock to tune in such quality
