Releasing Africas deadliest snake

Although Puff-adders are not the prettiest and definitely sort of a scary snake but they do play an important role in the ecosystem as they are essential in the control of rodent populations and other smaller animals. Therefore they need to be respected and protected just like all other wildlife.
Please be assured that absolutely nothing happened to the snake as it may look rough when they are being handled like this. Also, we only catch snakes when they move in directly with us since the risk of an accident is otherwise simply too high. We would never kill a snake but we simply move them a few kilometers away where they can live without creating a hazardous situation for us or our workers. I wanted to not only share this with all of you but also display to our staff as it is completely new to them to catch and release snakes instead of killing them. Healthy respect and knowing their behavior is much safer than irrational fear and panic and if we want to protect snakes from often finding a painful and horrible death when close to humans, education is important for the safety and wellbeing of both, the snakes and people.
