While unboxing my DR it was easier to leave the cutting attachment in the open box. Just lay it down on the pallet. Roll the engine section to the mower and the pin just slides in. It was the easiest machine I ever owned to assemble. My advise on adding the oil for the first time is to check the level after a brief run. The filter takes oil so the level will drop. Great running machine.
As an owner of a similar unit: Mind your safety, and more than that, the safety of people around. Never stand in the direction where the grass is ejected. I once have thrown a lost horseshoe 15 meters into their direction. Such things you only do once!
You are right! That machine will throw debris out of the front also, as my wife discovered while recording some video. She is paying more attention to where she positions herself now. Thanks for reminding us to be safe!
I just pulled the trigger and ordered the 15.5 hp. I don't have a lot of property, just some serious growth that' s too much for a rider and too little for the John Deere. Thanks for the video.
Sweet! Glad we could help. Thanks for the comment. If you haven’t subscribed please consider it and I hope the DR works out for you as well as it did for us.
I just came in from giving my DR pro 26 a good run. It’s a beast but it could use a locking differential when in very soft ground on hills. One wheel will spin and it can’t move without putting it in neutral and pulling hard back by hand. Other than that be careful mowing in 2nd gear if you don’t know what’s hiding in tall grass.
@@BillyStanley it depends on how strong a grip you have. That engine is powerful. My hands are not that good on grip. But I can tell you I am not disappointed on the performance. I cut 4’ high very wet grass and it cut right through it spiting out balls of grass mush. It does not clog up like a normal mower. The engine does not labor at all. The transport 3rd gear is very fast. So much that if your not ready for it it will pull you off your feet. Your going to love this machine. Just be careful with it.
im getting a 15.5 hp one with brush hog plusgetting a blower, blade and 42 inch lawn mower deck and chipper attachments plus adding some led lights and strob on it too for plwing sidewalks in winter
Looking at this mower as well! How much did you pay for it on sale? It's the 22 HP on sale now PRO XL30 (22 HP) is $3399.99 - btw right now it is August. I am thinking of buying the DR FIELD AND BRUSH MOWER PREMIER 26 (10.5 HP) on sale now for $1899.99. Supposedly it cuts up to 2" saplings. They have sales every month but I'd like to know when is the best time to get the best deal. I don't need to do anything any bigger than what you were testing on and most of what I am doing is big weeds so Im hoping the DR FIELD AND BRUSH MOWER PREMIER 26 (10.5 HP) is all I'll need. Anyway... Love that you're making these with your family! I'd love to support and subscribe! YT aint easy! LOL
Don't know anything about the 26 with the 10.5 hp but my 34 with the 22 hp will not bat an eye at a 2" sapling! I bought the biggest one I could afford and was apprehensive about that and man am I happy with my choice! For years I thought DR was an as seen on TV product, man was I wrong! Awesome product need to make more videos showing its capabilities. Highly recommend brush cutter! Thanks for the comment. Please subscribe if haven't already!
It's not much better than a regular mower. If you want it to really perform. Remove that front bar. Cut the deck back to expose 6-8 inches of blade. It has no clearance the way it sits, wasted power. Nothing will stop it, and it will be 10x more effective.
Save your money and buy an older Gravely. I have three Gravely‘s and one of my Gravely‘s could do all of this while pulling 20 of those behind it!!!! That thing there is a cheap piece of junk!!

If one wheel starts to spin, can't you squeeze a brake on it to force the other to pull? I'm soon to get the 26" Pro.

How far down does it cut?
I would say like a 5 setting on a lawn mower. Cuts tall grass amazing.
