The best way to trade crude oil. Which trading instrument? Which trading strategy? Should you use certain exchanges to save on spreads and commissions? How much is a fair spread in this market? Crude Oil - we have WTI (West Texas Intermediate) and then we have Brent Crude. One is traded on IMEX, one is trade on the ICE exchange. You can trade either of these. If you go directly to the exchange - say CRUDE OIL (NYMEX:CL) it is going to be a minimum of 1 contract and its $10 per cent move. Oil moves in cents so if its $50.82 - if that moves to $50.83. If it moves $1 you will make or lose $1000. This can be prohibitive for smaller traders. You can also trade it using a spread bet or CFD, futures, ETF (say USO) or options. What's the best instrument to trade it? What trading strategy to use and what news or reports do you need to keep abreast of? Using a price action strategy works well with Oil in the right market conditions. OK.P

best channel. like the style. quick and to the point and without playing smart with normal language. you know when somebody just repeats what he reads in a book or if someone does it actually on a regular basis.
Always look forward to watching your videos Mark. I learn something new regularly from them.
p.s I'm watching this video the week after the Saudi oil rig attack and it was very interesting to see how it affected to oil markets. Feel sorry for anyone that got caught out by the almost 15% gap up on Brent & WTI 😬
thanks for answering my questions! :)
Thank you for the valuable information 👍🏻
Oil prices are easy to trade if there is a moving event.
Thanks for the professional explanation
Really appreciate your take on this topic. I think you do a terrific job Thanks
New to trading crude oil, coming from trading stock indexes. I always apprciate your insight. Thank you!
You missed the best one to trade which is CL's younger brother on Nymex. Tight spreads, good liquidity and half the size. The ticker for the e-mini crude oil contract is QM.
thank you for the guide. may god bless you with fortunes..
Really good way of breaking it down and explaining it. Thanks buddy!
Thank you sir
Totally agreed..
Just Price Action..
Thanks 👍
Thanks for increasing my (body of know) about crude oil trading
you are my best coach
👍Thanks: eager and sincere -- not at all snooty or condescending in the way of many our Brit financial pros. 👍
I'm relatively new to trading and I've been trying to figure out how to trade oil in Hargreaves Lansdown for some time now. Do you have any ideas?
What are the official opening and closing hours of US crude oil in order to set pivots up on IG from within UK. Im trying to find official opening and closing prices. Cheers
Hi, which ETF/ETN corelate closely the price flutuations of the oil during next 2-3years term.
Nice video. many thanks for this. Am I correct in understanding that WTI currently trading @ circa $23; one would need in excess of $23,000 just to trade the underlying asset on NYMEX without being stopped out if WTI fell to below $1 per barrel?
Whats the best way for me to trade the underlying asset on NYMEX? Do i still need to go through a broker?
I am PA day trading / scalping CL on the 1-min Heikin Ashi, 6 period MA, and MACD. Thoughts? Thank you.
there is always something news related but its never obvious what the outcome in the market will be......Let me advise you not to try guessing news or even caring about it, find an edge in price behaviour, back test that edge....build statistics from that edge and frame a rvr and a behavioural framework to keep yourself in. make it as mechanical as possible so back tests prove as close to live as humanly possible.......Personally do not use any indicators like MA's Stochastics etc as in back test it wont prove true too live unless you replay the data and test yourself that way
How do you guys feel about GUSH these days. Many of the oil ETF's are delisting 😬 I hear that GUSH just changed from 3x to 2x. So that totally screws the guys that rode oil down and are counting on recovery. Any thoughts on if GUSH is going to be around? Will it perform at 2x as promised?
Sir how to find out support and ressistance easily?
Hi I live in India. Please help me know which broker gives tightest spread for wti crude oil. I get 0.3 spread but is there anything lesser than that?
Hi when you buy WTI example 100 barrels .and the contract ends June2020 what happens if you're still holding the barrels .i understand these are the future exchange .you don't physically own the crude oil barrel. Thanks
What time does Oil open and close? Or is it 24/7
Sry i dont understand how buy it now and sell it after 3 years?
I trade the ETF's a lot. Warning to those new...the decay on those is a serious factor.
That is not exactly accurate. It only decays if it is in contango. If in backwardation the result will be appreciation.
I've started trading CFDs and crude oil never seems to give me good profit yet gold always does
does crude oil move up with us doller moving up as i have locked at the charts it does do that
I don’t like trading crude through oil futures, rather I use the 3x oil etf, GUSH and the 3x inverse oil etf DRIP and trade options on them, since they are hugely leveraged.
@Umar Virk What makes even less sense is he isn't even trading oil via GUSH and DRIP. Those are ETF that trades companies that are in the sector. There is absolutely zero relationship to the commodity futures prices and the ETF tracks. 🤭
then you should look into UWT and DWT, that is if you want to stick to these types of ETFs despite the decay...
The first half is all about pips. I didn't learn any strategy.
superhittttttttttttttttt
I heard everything he said, and I'm neither British or American born.
Oil is simple to trade and gain profit
What inflation , demand& supply
Could you recommend some platform for crude oil trading?

I have two friends one is Forex trader and another one is Commodities trader, I am interested in both. Both friends love their expertise and praise it. I can`t choose one, I really need a person who would tell me which is more difficult to trade, which one has more profitability less loss ratio. Which one is less stressful. Which one can lead to millions sooner if done properly. At the end of the day, we all trade because of money. I am personally not greedy, not emotional person. I really want to choose one that fits my personality and become an expert in it. Because I believe that it is not good to trade all instruments at the same time. Better to choose one, narrowing the focus. Hope to hear from you. Thank you.
Does anyone know of a buyer for WTI crude?
If you only speak a little bit slower, maybe a lot more of us could understand. Looks like you know what you are talking about.
what is the oil trade tax in uk
Haven't heard of an oil trade tax... Where have you heard that from?

SPREAD BET IS A BET = CASINO!!!!!!! BE AWARE GUYS
With that logic a trade is a bet. Trading stocks is also betting! 😉

You forgot to mention that spread betting is tax exempt. Government do not want all the losers deduct loses as expenses, because everybody lose on it a lot.
