    If u want to carry a knife then go with any model (almost any) Swiss Army Knife by Victorinox , if you ever happen to be found by a law enforcement officer carrying that knife state that this knife is in your possession as “Utility Tool” and not a “Weapon” in any manner .
    Don’t even say that its for self defence, say that its barely and merely a Utility Tool thats all .
    If the knife your r carrying has tools like (screwdriver, bottle opener, scissors, scale, toothpick,usb drive,fork,pen,saw etc ) which there are plenty of them in a Swiss Army knife, then your statement of you carrying it barely as a tool will be further solidified.
    If you are in a profession that requires you to use tools like an engineer,wireman,plumber,artist etc etc than your act of possessing that “tool” will further be acceptable.
    Very Important:
    Things not to do and not to do with your “tool” .
    1) Never Point it towards someone
    2) Never Flaunting it in public
    3) Never use to threaten someone on the bases of u having it
    4) Do “always” Call it a “Self Defence Weapon “ (its just a tool and that’s that ) keep this in mind always.
    5) do : If u ever get caught by law enforcement officers for possessing a SAK (swiss army knife) , never accept or confess that the knife was a weapon for self defence. It’s a tool that’s the only and only discription of the SAK that u will tell them .
    6) do : and last but not the least
    The intention of u carrying it are just for its utilitarian purpose. Besides that you have no other intentions behind carrying it .

    Would a sharp balisong or karambit which is well within the size restrictions of 6inches be legal to carry or possess ...unlike a trainer ?

    • @theprowess_kay
      @theprowess_kay  3 роки тому +1

      Certain types of knives which are considered and labelled prohibited and 'dangerous' due to their designs and the capability of inflicting serious damage of lethal nature when deployed include karambits as well as many balisongs, spring assisted or not.. again, general knife laws itself are so vague that identifying laws pertaining to specific kind of knives becomes next to impossible... But overall as laws vary from not only country to country but from state to state as well, generally karambits with more than 3 inches of blade length, excluding the handle are illegal to carry and that too only those karambits which don't have a sharpened outer edge.. the latter are completely illegal irrespective of their length.. so as per your question, the 6 inch overall blade should be enough to attract some trouble if caught as it lies in the 'dangerous' weapons category... but again, the sheer vagueness of knife laws make it completely uncertain as to whether a law enforcement official considers your intent of carrying the knife valid or not.. you can be asked to hand over the knife on the basis of where and why you're carrying it as well and you'll have to comply.. so it's best you consider all points mentioned in the video as well as those points which may be different or stricter in your area while carrying a karambit or balisongs.. Really small ones don't attract much trouble if not flashed publically and taken in places which don't allow knives at all..
      Hope this immensely long reply helps..✌️

    I couldn't figure out why spring actuated knife is illegal? What so bad about them?
    Btw the latest state's notification on arms act Matters from state to state

    • @theprowess_kay
      @theprowess_kay  3 роки тому +1

      Spring actuated knives are banned less because of its lethality towards others but more because of its lethality and risk to the knife owner. Very good quality knives are even more expensive and here in India the majority will prefer cost effective options which is still okay for some other type of knives but in cases of spring actuated ones, quality and the spring mechanism really is the key. Even in good quality branded knives there is a high possibility of the button to be pushed from the outside of let's say your pocket. Also, the spring mechanism can fail. (especially true for some cheap knock-off knives). If that happens the person carrying that knife could easily get hurt in a number of ways. Because of the sheer unpredictable events that could lead to the mentioned scenarios, they are banned (there are even explicit written rules in some foreign countries and places like California. It is just the vagueness of these laws in India that you might get away or might get into trouble for carrying one, totally depends).

    • @thetribe2101
      @thetribe2101 3 роки тому

      @@theprowess_kay I think they as lethal as any other knife...
      Even if your carrying knife whose blade is like 4-5 inches, stil in the court you will be asked to prove that you are not carrying it out any criminal intent.
      Which is ridiculous...

    • @theprowess_kay
      @theprowess_kay  3 роки тому

      @@thetribe2101 that is the thing.. the intent becomes doubtful if one is caught with a knife at an inappropriate place.. camping trips, house shifting or concealed carry of a decent knife (one which is within permissible limits) in a crowded public place where it doesn't state 'no weapons allowed' is okay but if caught with it inside say a theatre or railway station then the intentions could be doubted.. while carrying a knife one has to be smart and logical.. • @theprowess_kay
      @theprowess_kay  3 роки тому +9

      That would be great as the inspector could guide you properly as per the local laws prevalent in your area..he would also be mentioning all points discussed in the video no doubt about that to get to know your intent and the places where you would be carrying a knife..
      One point is for certain though.. if you mention 'self-defense', you will be bombarded with questions as to why you think you need a weapon for your self-defense, do you perceive a threat from some human/animal etc. so be prepared for that.. else there's definitely not an issue with reaching out to the authorities for clarification..

      Lastly, manufacturing and sale of knives is only legal when the authorities are aware and your business is registered.. without business registration any form of manufacture or sale of knives isn't allowed and can get you in trouble.. I suggest you consult your local police and enquire with them about any kind of kinks that can get you in trouble and of which the public isn't aware of.. explain your good intention to them and I'm sure they would co-operate and help..Also search online for the steps to getting your business registered with the government of India..

    I have always carried a knife for general purpose cutting and prying stuff all around Karnataka and Mizoram.
    In my home state in Mizoram, no one would bat an eye even if i pull out a gigantic knife in public because here they are seen as tools here and not as weapons. In Karnataka though, even my rather tame looking CRK Sebenza gets stares from people so I usually just pull out a Victorianox when in public places to avoid attention even if I have another knife in my pocket.
    So my advice in carrying a knife in India is to just consider the time and place when you pull out the knife. In my experience people generally dont care about Victorianoxes even in public just about anywhere in India.

      Actually the combination can cause trouble if it has swords as well unless they're blunt and do not have a deadly disposition. The vagueness of laws means it's a matter of chance if the box gets cleared, you receive it and you don't publicize it too much or carry it around outside..But still that's a chance..Any law enforcement official can practically stop you from keeping it by deeming it dangerous to the peace and tranquillity of the public..

    How to bring a kitchen knife from foreign countries if it is baned in airport and railway station

    • @theprowess_kay
      @theprowess_kay  3 роки тому

      Kitchen knives do not attract trouble but if they're on your person in a railway station or airport then definitely that's a cause of concern.. here the point of intent comes into picture.. If you're shifting your house or you're a professional chef then no worries you can carry them in your check-in baggage and not cabin baggage.. However if you're on a leisure trip carrying a big kitchen knife then definitely the intentions can be questioned by anyone.. so to be on the safer side, I suggest you order the knife/ send the knife through a courier service (whatever applicable) and keep it away from you during travel as much as possible to avoid any inconvenience..
