Where does it says in arms law it is illegal to carry spring/button knifes? Flipkart and amazon sells and button knifes for campers/travllers/hikers. So is it illegal to use it or defend with it?
yeah, in the arms rule 1959 it only states you aren't allowed anything with a blade longer than 9 inches and wider than 2 inches, theres no mention about spring based knives
Hey man, you mentioned that certain states vary in their blade length restrictions(as in, even smaller than 9" in length), and certain other states don't permit weapons of any sort whatsoever. Did you, while researching for this video make a note of such states/areas in particular?
Swiss Army Knives are not a problem to carry.. They come under useful tools (multitool) category which is why carrying it is not an issue.. metal detector would definitely detect as it is supposed to detect even little metal things on someone like keys.. so it can be easily overlooked by most security personnel...
Certain types of knives which are considered and labelled prohibited and 'dangerous' due to their designs and the capability of inflicting serious damage of lethal nature when deployed include karambits as well as many balisongs, spring assisted or not.. again, general knife laws itself are so vague that identifying laws pertaining to specific kind of knives becomes next to impossible... But overall as laws vary from not only country to country but from state to state as well, generally karambits with more than 3 inches of blade length, excluding the handle are illegal to carry and that too only those karambits which don't have a sharpened outer edge.. the latter are completely illegal irrespective of their length.. so as per your question, the 6 inch overall blade should be enough to attract some trouble if caught as it lies in the 'dangerous' weapons category... but again, the sheer vagueness of knife laws make it completely uncertain as to whether a law enforcement official considers your intent of carrying the knife valid or not.. you can be asked to hand over the knife on the basis of where and why you're carrying it as well and you'll have to comply.. so it's best you consider all points mentioned in the video as well as those points which may be different or stricter in your area while carrying a karambit or balisongs.. Really small ones don't attract much trouble if not flashed publically and taken in places which don't allow knives at all.. Hope this immensely long reply helps..✌️
Hey dude I have a bright shiny Tanto that I forged while I was in highschool. Now I'm flying back to India so will I get in trouble with the airport customs if I put it in checked baggage?
Unsharpened (training blades) are not prohibited as they don't pose any threat to public tranquility but are simply used to hone one's self defense skills or just for collection purpose..
I couldn't figure out why spring actuated knife is illegal? What so bad about them? Btw the latest state's notification on arms act Matters from state to state
Spring actuated knives are banned less because of its lethality towards others but more because of its lethality and risk to the knife owner. Very good quality knives are even more expensive and here in India the majority will prefer cost effective options which is still okay for some other type of knives but in cases of spring actuated ones, quality and the spring mechanism really is the key. Even in good quality branded knives there is a high possibility of the button to be pushed from the outside of let's say your pocket. Also, the spring mechanism can fail. (especially true for some cheap knock-off knives). If that happens the person carrying that knife could easily get hurt in a number of ways. Because of the sheer unpredictable events that could lead to the mentioned scenarios, they are banned (there are even explicit written rules in some foreign countries and places like California. It is just the vagueness of these laws in India that you might get away or might get into trouble for carrying one, totally depends).

The vagueness of laws means it's a matter of chance if the box gets cleared, you receive it and you don't publicize it too much or carry it around outside..But still that's a chance..Any law enforcement official can practically stop you from keeping it by deeming it dangerous to the peace and tranquillity of the public..
Multiple weapons can attract attention..

Atleast they should sell training knives
Knife training hasn't really picked up the pace in India now as compared to some other countries. As demand for it increases, so will the product.

Hi sir can i carry pocket knife or pepper spray while riding motorcycle for safety?
Yes definitely.. Not a problem..
@@theprowess_kay thanks for your reply but what if police catch us and frame us?
@@karthikh3718 you can't be framed with just a pocket knife as it is very simple and not 'deadly' in appearance plus it is within the permissible limits.. while riding a pocket knife could be handy so there should be no issue at all unless you brandish it publically or try to threaten somebody with it.. same is the case with pepper sprays.. don't worry buddy..

Hii
I love katanas and I wanna buy some katanas
But the thing is i don't know if it will be ok if i buy the dull katanas or sharp katanas
The dull katanas are just for display purposes
And the sharp katanas can be used for light cutting
I just want to showcase them in my home
Can you help me weather it is okay to have them in my house ?
Also can i keep sharp katanas if i am just gonna keep them at home ?
Can I order any sword online?
How to bring a kitchen knife from foreign countries if it is baned in airport and railway station
Kitchen knives do not attract trouble but if they're on your person in a railway station or airport then definitely that's a cause of concern.. here the point of intent comes into picture.. If you're shifting your house or you're a professional chef then no worries you can carry them in your check-in baggage and not cabin baggage.. However if you're on a leisure trip carrying a big kitchen knife then definitely the intentions can be questioned by anyone.. so to be on the safer side, I suggest you order the knife/ send the knife through a courier service (whatever applicable) and keep it away from you during travel as much as possible to avoid any inconvenience..
So victorinox 58,74 mm (sd,scout, huntsman, climber, minichamp etc ) ate legal to carry?
What about multitools with a knife?
No issues with that..
Can we carry an 1) expandable baton 2)self defence tactical pen(glass breaeker end)?
Yes you can..They aren't lethal weapons (in most cases) so it shouldn't be a problem to carry them in public..(not in places prohibiting any sort of weapon altogether of course).
why do people always have to be so tacticool all the time wanting to do martial arts shit that they really cant do
just carry a pepper spray if you need to defend yourself and that will buy you more than enough time to run away
the problem with the knife culture here in india is that people think carrying knives for tactical purposes are cool shit which just ends up hurting guys like me who just want to carry knives for general purpose cutting and admiration of craftsmanship in knives
I have benchmade butterfly knife with blade

Can I buy a little karambit knife that is 9 inches? I will be taking it outside in my pocket maybe outside in hand for 2 minutes. Will it be legal?
Is there any issue for purchasing a knife with blade less than 4 inches
No problem in that
@@theprowess_kay sir but handle handle is 5 inches
that makes overall length 9.5
@@akshaysharma6672 if the handle is 5 inches and the blade is less than 4 inches then the total would be 9 inches or less right.. then it is legal
bro what about knuckle Duster is that legal or not..?

@@theprowess_kay because I asked is that when I searched for the Katana I came across Punjabi Handicrafts team they sell (blunt edged) Katana and other show items. When I messaged them they told me it alright because it's a blunt sword and legally Okey because it's only for show.
@@amalvarghese7160 I agree it's okay in some areas and generally goes unnoticed.. but there are several parameters which should be considered like your local area laws and the fact that the ministry of Home affairs requires any individual to own a license for bladed weapons etc. I will be uploading a video on the rules governing sword possession as well.. please stay tuned
