i'll never forget when my unit hosted a spur ride before our deployment in 2012...about 12 hours in i wanted to just say fuck it and give up when my spur holder said "you've got choices in life man...roads you gotta cross, and you can either sit back and never cross 'em or you can man the f**k up...put on your big boy pants and say "NO...i wont give up" and keep going"

When I got my spurs 20 years ago, I was told that my spurs needed to have the number 2 in them, and all they had at the PX was spurs with the number 8 on them. They told me I could get them, but I didn't. What do the numbers mean on the spurs anyway??? Scouts out!

A spur ride is just CTT and a 12 mile road march, similar to EIB and EFMB. There are two ways to earn your spurs, a spur ride or a deployment with a cav unit.
This doesnt seem too hard. Will update comment when I complete my spur ride.

so pissed.....thought spur rides were like family/company event were you rode broken/tame horses......so glad i found out the truth before going cav for just the Stetson

Funny when I was running the Land Nav course and all the 11 B's who failed was because they couldn't Land Nav for shit. Couldn't even give a 6 digit grid to their starting point!!!!! LOL
