The more time you spend exhaling, the more time your lungs have to perform oxy/co2 transfer. That certainly buys you time for your BA usage, but the calming affect cannot be underestimated. Oh, and for those who have been scuba trained, you'll find there's loads of overlap because panic in the deep is just as deadly as panic in the heat.

Definitely a young person job. Retire around 60. I was in my prime, in my 20s, now im pushing 50, not a good age to start again.

How about circular breathing, a technique used by some musicians, ...
