If only we could this remastered and the pitch brought back down to the natural key of C major. He does a great job here navigating such a difficult bel canto piece that starts STRAIGHT in the Baritone's passaggio.
È la magia del grande artista, non tutti riuscivano, per esempio il bravo Guelfi, l ho sentito tante volte e molto spesso non riusciva a trattenere la voce. Ettore è perfetto in tutto. Sapeva veramente tutto del canto. Che ingiustizia quello che gli è successo. Era tanto buono. Cosa ha dovuto mai scontare..😢
Is this from the Erede Decca studio recording? That's the best Favorita IMO. With Simionato, Poggi, Bastianini and Hines, what more could you possibly want? I also like the Cetra version with Barbieri, Raimondi (I like him more than Poggi), Tagliabue and Neri.
Grandissimo il mio amato Bastianini. Che voce stupenda, lo ascolterei per ore.
Sì.io lo ascolto per ore: da tutta la vita!
Bravo👍
Ettore Bastianini, Verdi DNA! deeply captivating dark voice, my very favorite baritone!!!
The great style. The magnificent baritone voice. The one and only Ettore.
This is one of his signature, paced so well and controls so subtle so crafty...
You've made my day!
Bravo maestro, still teaching us to this day!

Bravissimo, con grande signorilità riesce a dominare la sua voce, che a volte è anche troppa per quest'aria...

Sorry, but this version lacks the suavity and grace required. But probably as good as any in his day. No point even considering anyone today.
Bravo
