In my opinion, the ANx is interesting but today like Korg Z1 have some typical aural signature, maybe the DA converters, I like the modern sound of the Reface CS. thank you
Well the new Yamaha Montage M is being released this coming October 9th and will have an AN-X engine on it in addition to it's AWM2 sample based engine and its FM-X DX7 based engine... So as of Oct 9 you will be able to purchase a new AN-X VA modeling based synth.

I still have an AN1x at home; this inspires me to hook it up again ;) @5:00 reminds me of the 80's .. for some strange reason it makes me think of the arpeggios at the beginning of Miami Vice episodes :D I'm kind of wondering how you applied vst fx to a hardware synth though (beginning producer here) !
you can do it live. Just connect Yamaha through MIDI-USB or MIDI - to Audio Interface. Open any good DAW. Add channels from MIDI Interface, where Yamaha connected and add Reverb FX in the Mixer/Channel where the synth connected.
Hi Matt. Very good video. I would like to know what effect or parameter is assigned to the modulation wheel in the first sound that you show. Could it be a LFO? I would also like to know the number of midi cc that generates the speed change. Thanks in advance. From Tucumán Argentina.
Yamaha has an amazing back catalogue of wonders like the AN1X/200, DX200, QY70/100, RS7000 etc.. and all digital and yet the newer stuff is simply more limited and less fun (reface CS, Seqtrak) - lots of potential wasted. Would these patches work on my AN200? Cheers

Den AN1x hatte ich viele Jahre im Studio. Der Sound ist sehr gut. Leider hat Yamaha ihn in schlechte Hardware gepackt.

@@AndrewLeSynt both are really special, AN200 has only 5 note poly unlike 10 on the AN1x. However AN200 has VCO cross-mod and AN1x doesn't
