Thank you Father for this nourishing homily. True we should always remember to share our faith with others because we were assigned by God to be a fisher of man like him. And avoid wrongful and undeserved criticisms towards our brothers with our minds and tongues, but instead preach the Gospel to one another according to God's plan and bring these souls to Him. Psalm 12, 37, 91 are notorious for God's commands against this undeserved and destructive behaviour. St. Vitus belongs to one of the group of 14 Helpers in Roman Catholicism. Their intercession is believed to be very efficacious against various diseases. Thank you Father. May God bless you.
Thanks Father! I like your sermans because you inform us of the saints for the day and link it to the gospel teaching and keep it practical and simple.
On Saint Vitus, Orthodox Christian Serbs saved all of Europe from the Islamic hordes of the Ottoman Empire. It was the day that the Serbs chose to embrace the heavenly kingdom rather than the earthly one. This was done by choosing death in battle rather than to convert to Islam in order to preserve the word and power of our savior Jesus Christ.
I would like to point out Father that the Second Sunday of Pentecost was 'just' the Second Sunday after Pentecost BEFORE the feast of Corpus Christ as well and its Collect Prayer "Sancti nominis tui..." is at least five hundred years older than the Feast of Corpus Christi being found in manuscripts of the Gregorian Sacramentary that were produced in the late 700s while the Feast of Corpus Christi only came into being in the 13th century.
No, the St. Vitus dance, is a neurological disorder called Sydenham's Chorea. It is an involuntary movement disorder triggered by an auto-immune condition. Not a mental illness. Big difference.
This is a common figure of speech (or mannerism) which *could* be read as modesty, or humility. [dependent of course, on the Charity in the heart of the hearer;¬]
Well if we have such high standards of researching a subject, I suppose we should be doing our own research instead of benefiting from the hard efforts of a Priest's wisdom and then giving him non-constructive criticism as a thank you.
The true religion of the one true God has never been superseded it has simply gained more merit, and has taken a new name, christianity. Modern Judaism is a false religion which only gives credit to the miracles and teachings of prophets before Christ. To claim that Judaism has any credibility is to claim that christianity (Catholicism) lacks credibility, this is of course absurd as christianity follows ancient Jewish tradition and teachings better than the modern Jews do.
@@rdbare4216 God must have given you a great gift to be able to know and judge all my fruits by just one internet comment. I don't know any of your faults or virtues because I was only commenting objectively on a comment you made in which I had an opinion on. But I guarantee you that, whatever faults you think I have, both the true and false ones, my actual faults are 1000 times worse - and yet Christ became a child for me. Pray for me in charity, that my faults don't lead me to eternal desolation, but that God may grant me final perseverance.
St. Vitus, pray for us.
St. Vitus Pray For us Amen
I looked up St. Vitus and this came up. It's his feast day today! God Bless!

“Something like this”? Does not seem to be very well researched.
Would it add anything to the substance of the sermon?

Judaism hasn’t been superseded
it has, Christ fulfilled every prophecy and they rejected him.

yes it has. Look up the definition.
Keith Mayhew Hammond I don’t need to look up the definition. I know both communities and I know what I believe. By your fruits we know you.
