5.44 Beautiful song, it's the type of thing my mum listens to (she's Japanese) It makes me so happy, and glad to be alive, but it also makes me sad sad, because it reminds me that we don't live forever, we should live our lives to the fullest, and make the most of it, and that includes being with friends and family, and we should never take a second of our lives for granted, for every second is precious.
yeah just amazing ... and this song was the reason to read some comments to check out , if somewhere else was charmed by this masterpiece (sry for my bad english :) ) ... so thumbs up !
+Eckhart Muller Lucky you, take a sushi for me and a miso soup & enjoy, once when I was young, I went to Asia and before landing in Hong Kong going to Singapur as well, unfortunately not to Japan, and it happen to me while getting near in the airplane that a familiar feeling started to grow and grow, something alike when I was a child and visited my grand ma´ for lunch every thursday after going out of the school, I was 11, she would be waiting for me and we would go together to the "plaza" behind the church of the town I was born, Coapa, and she would get something for me, something with flowers for my hair or a pair of girl`s shoes, and I loved her so much and thought all the week on the next thursday, and then…. there was this feeling while flying to the orient, so familiar to me, just remembering brings tears to my eyes, so much longing, I can perfectly understand you, you must have been a japanese person in another life…., like me...
Ancient Japanese way of life? All i feel is the cold and bloody history of Japan's dark past... Pray for the people who died serving the japanese army through out history...
Oh, by the heavens, I found it! I love this album. I've been listening to it for like 6 years now... but I recently forgot which playlist it was on and thought I lost it.
These particular songs are really helping me sleep, for someone who can't sleep these songs are like heaven. Thank you to all the artists who wrote these songs and to the channel that posted them.
Konichiwa! The appreciation for the raw and natural talent of these musicians and composers is hard to describe. Fluid, calmness, ancient instruments, all combined to create the sound of the real, every day Japanese culture and mindset. Easy going, often timid, but always respectful people. This really is a reflection of Japan. Okinawa is my #1 pick if I had to choose anywhere else outside of the U.S. to dwell. Was stationed there (Naha) for one year and loved it. Too bad I didn't get to experience everything there was to offer from the paradise island of centurions. Arigato gozaimasu Okinawa!
I almost go into another world when I hear this, A trance and inner awakening. I met my spiritual animal due to this. It is so amazing how beautiful this is, I wish the world was still so close to nature. But it will never be. This makes me feel so much better inside myself and I feel more calm.
You mean Japanese culture from 500 years ago, not today. Nobody in Japan listens to this kind of music anymore except for occasional 'otakus' or strange people. Only us gaijin still like it.
"Nobody in Japan listens to this kind of music anymore except for occasional 'otakus' or strange people." Really? It's not like European classical music?
i feel free with this music... i cry with it, but that doesn't mean i'm sad, i feel so relieved that i let all the sadness inside me get out... it's an amazing sound :)
20:40 Probably the most beautiful song I've heard. I'm so glad I'm bilingual in English and Japanese xD Even so, they're singing in an old Japanese dialect, so it's a bit hard to understand.
Hi, my 8-year old little daughter likes this song ; she tried to recorgnize words in it. Problem: she only speaks french and hungarian... Would you be so kind to help us by giving the lyrics in roman alphabet ? or maybe an english translation... Thanks a lot
There’re a lot of music like this piece you mentioned at 20:40 in Japan, but honestly it has Chinese theme, which is different. That piece only sounded foreign to me as I’m Japanese. The lyrics are…supposed to be a father singing longing his daughter/wife but using very old Japanese and dialects. The singer has a nice voice though. Other music is using traditional Japanese instruments. But some parts are Chinese…very strange. I don’t think some of them are made by Japanese people.
I've listened to many of the traditional Japanese music compilations on the Tube and this is one of the best so far. Thanks for putting it up. Very enjoyable and relaxing.
I do not seem to know why, but I'm so attracted to Japanese culture.. Definitely love its music, I'm astounded by the sceneries and all of its beauty. LOVE LOVE LOVE
This is my favorite video. I will keep coming back every while And someday in the future i will live somewhere like this beautiful place and listen to this song
It's amazing how, after having been attacked by the Japanese your grandfather learned to admire their culture. That's awesome. I'm also an admirer of that culture. I'm presently learning the Japanese language alone, at home. I'll appreciate if you let me know something else about your grandfather story. Best regards.
Luis Vargas my grandfather fought with the 1st marine division from 1942-1945. He was at Peleliu and Okinawa, when he got back from war he hated the Japanese until sometime in the mid 50’s when a Japanese family had moved in next door. They somehow became friends and he changed his mind that they weren’t so bad after all. He wouldn’t talk about the war much, the one time he mentioned finding an American soldier cut in half from the neck to the hips by a samurai sword.. he said that’s what started his anger towards the Japanese, stuck with him for life.
@@BornInSCLA Patriotpower, Tks a lot for your reply. Quite interesting story. The fight against Japanese had very cruel episodes indeed(which war is free of those?) But at the same time and spite of all what he saw in battle, your grandpa proved not having very profound resentment and this, to my view, means he has(had?) a good and sound human nature of which I'm so glad to have learned. All the best for you, Luis, from Lima, Peru
i was meditating to this music, and suddenly i burst into tears of happines due to gratitude towards the people i love...thanks so much for uploading this video!
This is so relaxing... it actually makes me cry; I want to PHYSICALLY be in a place like this and just forget about reality for one day. Thank you for posting this!
I did foreign exchange in Osaka the second semester of my freshman year of high school, and to me, the most beautiful area was the Kanto plain followed by the northern mountains. Fuji was breathtaking, and I loved the Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines as they were very nicely kept, like little gazebos in the midst of a coniferous rainforest, a lot like Oregon and it's Native American sites.
I used to take lessons about the culture and language of Japan and my teachers would play this music, oddly enough it reminds me of those days with my friends learning about this interesting culture.

Now all gnomes (and their yuanti kin) of the temple have traditional Japanese style influence in clothing and music. So this video is a great help in presenting that idea.
@Masterffc What's so wrong about being a weeb? Don't just assume that when people talk about moving to Japan, they are a fucking weeb, man. With the first song i feel like a lone samurai overlooking a cherry blossom overpass with the cool evening breeze blowing through my hair as i inhale its essence. i reach into my pouch and spark my weed, take 3 puffs then disappear into the bamboo forest nearby....................the journey continues................................................
+Marlon L (Starbwoy) ha, ha dear, dangerous as that makes you slower and as a samurai you need to be fast dear, besides with the samurai training you wouldn´t have had that need, and still you could have the same kind of experience but free of the slowness ji…., enjoy it anyway
Dae Dalus this isn't really traditional Japanese music. i feel like why it sounds similar is because there's a western/Celtic influence in these tracks.
Charls Cheese Even so, legitimately authentic Irish/Gaelic/Celtic music is MUCH different than what is perceived by most people. Many people think their music is nothing but the simple drinking songs that the media just loves to showcase, when real traditional Irish music is often quite complex and elegant, meditative, spiritual, etc.
Masterpieces that can't be forgotten. Many would be surprised at how well this releases stress, honestly I just like how calm it is.

i grew in japan back in early 2000s it change my life how beautiful and peaceful japan is as well people are nice and calm as well amazing invention
They tend to get like that after they tried to take over the world. Germany is like that and North Korea will be one day.
This gentle music brings a calm over a household that has been used to turmoil.
This peaceful, oriental music from Japan, makes me feel so motivated and optimistic when it comes to meditation inside the dojo drinking green tea.

+Marlon L (Starbwoy) you do realise a samurai wouldnt smoke weed? :D
hahaha with me being the exception.
:P yeah man
+Marlon L (Starbwoy) Whoa..... Deep O_O
+Marlon L (Starbwoy) ha, ha dear, dangerous as that makes you slower and as a samurai you need to be fast dear, besides with the samurai training you wouldn´t have had that need, and still you could have the same kind of experience but free of the slowness ji…., enjoy it anyway
Awesome. I listen to this while studying and working. Thank you.
Many similarities to Irish/Gaelic traditional music. Interesting how the Occidental and Oriental are so alike sometimes.
Dae Dalus Music si actually universal,we aren't that different
Dae Dalus Some are not traditional music.
Native American music sounds similar as well.
I haven't been this happy in a while
This is a great orental mix. I love the sound of japanese music. Does anyone know what the first song is called?
i luv it. Japanese music soft and beautiful.
Step 1: learn the japanese pentatonic scale
Step 2: Enjoy jamming to most of these songs
I admire Japanese culture so much.
