Two really cool guys hanging out and talking drums. Doesn’t get much better than this. Also note that Don is a really down to earth guy who loves quality drums…this shows in everything DW does and why the are the leading drum maker on the planet.

Camco owner wanted to sell Camco machinery to someone like Don who would continue the production so as not to piss anyone off, I love to hear a gentleman like Don say 'Not piss anyone off', lol great interview. It is amazing how it all came together...

Interesting on the Radio King. Back in the Early 90s, the Radio King snare drums were offered again by the withering Slingerland company to revive them. I am a repairman in Wisconsin. Richelieu Banjo, not 5 miles from me, were steam bending those shells, gluing them and then turning them down to the proper thickness. Solid Maple. I went to visit them to see way they were doing when I found out who was being them. Not sure why they didn't take off, but they were supposed to be the real deal.

No way is Roland the slightest bit interested in Slingerland. Don selling DW finally killed Slingerland.

That was deep when he said that the drums reveal the true personality of the player more so than most instruments.

I thought that was interesting he didn’t mention Gretsch when he talked about Ludwig, Slingerland and Rogers being the big three makers back in the day. Gretsch was very popular, especially among the jazz players.
