      I know some people don’t like the continuation but I do hope they react
      to the 2019 film Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection
      it’s such a masterpiece and yes there are slight changes to the film so that it could move forward but it’s such a beautiful film and it shows more in depth the love that LELOUCH has and the ones
      who truly love him and that deserves a reaction on there channel after code geass the tv show ends ya know 🥰🥰

    Bad teachers like Junpei's are genuinely the reason some kids' lives get ruined. He *saw* them bullying him and did nothing, he knew how they acted and yet he still attacked Junpei and made it seem like he was the one at fault in this situation. My blood would be absolutely boiling if I was in Junpei's place.

    • @a_kmza
      @a_kmza 8 днів тому

      He's bad sure but its due to his incompetence not his malice. He genuinely thought they were friends as you see later in the series when he finally realises that Junpei was being bullied and sits down one of the students in his office. The teacher has no awareness and believed Junpei really was friends with his bullies and not realising that even the insistence of that was damaging to Junpeis mental health. It took a tragedy to happen to realise his mistake and that he needed to do better.

    It's interesting how Mahito seems childish, manipulative and terrifying while also being oddly introspective and motivating. You don't know if he's going to strike up a deep conversation with you or transfigure your very being into something truly terrifying with a smile on his face. Possibly even both.

    A correction, Mahito CANNOT turn people into curses.
    They are still 100% human. Mahito can alter people's biology in pretty much anyway he wants. He's a very young curse, less than a year old, so he's experimenting with his technique to see what it can do. He can turn humans into MONSTERS that can only think about fighting or eating. They are NOT curses, other ordinary humans can see them too.
    So it's honestly WORSE than if he could just make curses.
    Since he can change people however he wants, he could also for example just cure someone's cancer. Like he could repair Deadpool's body instantly.

    "I'm going to have to punch out" is such brilliant phrasing for what Nanami is about to do.

  • @rjai5003
    @rjai5003 18 днів тому +22

    Mahito meant “people don’t have hearts” in the emotional sense, like how people treat love and empathy as if they come from the heart. He’s basically saying doing something “heartless” is fine because there’s nothing special about those types of feelings and they don’t have any real value

  • @In-The-Zone
    @In-The-Zone 19 днів тому +44

    There are multiple ways to say Heart and multiple meanings derived from saying it beyond the organ. In the same way you say "you have no heart" in English, there are even more ways of saying it in Japanese. When Mahito talks about people not having hearts he is talking to the morality of it. He says what people think is their humanity is really just a by product of the soul burning its existence. Its like how you say emotions like love isn't special, its just chemicals and electrical impulses in your brain.
    There is a theme in many anime to the point I think its a cultural thing, where people talk about the heart and the idea its something connected to others and a gift given to humanity which allows for love and belonging. In this case Mahito is saying that is fake and he knows for a fact because he can see the soul.

    A little misunderstanding that you guys have had the past two episodes. Mahito doesn’t turn people into curses. He changes the form of a person’s soul which, in turn, morphs their physical body. Their bodies may look similar to cursed spirits, however they still have physical bodies that normal people can see. And they still, technically, are human.

  • @KenjTheSnek
    @KenjTheSnek 18 днів тому +8

    So two things:
    1. As people have said, Mahito doesn’t turn people into cursed spirits. As an addendum, to use the cooking analogy you used, he’s changing them the same way you would knead cookie dough into a new shape. He’s not changing the ingredients, and he’s just changing the shape of the soul, and the body is forced to follow that shape. Also, the crystal thing they use to denote the soul is just a visualization of how he sees it. A crystallization of your soul into a perfect shape.
    2. The coolest part of cursed energy and cursed techniques is that as a power system it justifies basically every little trope of power systems very naturally because of one simple detail: Cursed energy is based around emotions, especially negative emotions. This means that the “technique” Nanami uses is not even part of his actual technique, but instead more like a pact he made with himself. If you know the annoyance of having to work overtime, you would know how that would make you annoyed enough to increase your cursed energy. And of course, I’m sure you would have seen by now, explaining your cursed technique makes it stronger, primarily because you are putting yourself at a disadvantage, giving you the feeling of slight regret and annoyance at having to do so.

  • @grantharriman284
    @grantharriman284 18 днів тому +12

    My understanding is that the "overtime" power up is a form of pact. There's a feature of cursed energy where imposing limits on your own actions can grant you bonuses. There is a common move where explaining to your opponent how your power works makes that power stronger. Every character has an active choice of whether that extra power is better or whether keeping their powers secret is a bigger advantage. My theory is that Nanami limits himself to "moderate effort" during his "work day" so when he goes into "overtime" he can use more than what his "maximum effort" would otherwise be. This would help a Grade 1 sorcerer like him to hold his own against a Special Grade like Mahito.

    • @Ydna0
      @Ydna0 17 днів тому +1

      Yes and this also works for barrier techniques like curtains and domains. Even the assistants can create a simple curtain that prevents the average citizen from seeing any unusual activity inside of it. And for barriers that prevent passage, wider applicability has an inverse relation to barrier strength. Limiting the barrier's effectiveness to say, keeping one single specific person outside of it for example, makes it extremely hard to break in exchange for leaving it wide open for anyone or anything else.
      It's a very risk-reward power system. It's like a game that lets you balance your own abilities in order to get some benefit out of it, like reducing the number of bullets in your gun to make it do way more damage.

    • @grantharriman284
      @grantharriman284 16 днів тому +2

      @@Ydna0 I really love what it says about the various Jujutsu Sorcerers and their techniques with their decision to reveal or hide how their technique works. Simple techniques wielded by confident sorcerers like Todo have very little downside and plenty of confidence at blowing through whatever plan you could devise based on knowing how it works, but crafty fighters like Nobara never reveal anything and keep their opponents guessing to gain advantages with deception and even getting underestimated at times.

    • @colt1903
      @colt1903 4 дні тому

      This is just personal head canon, but I think his Cleaver being wrapped up like that is also part of a binding vow. "I'll always use a blunted weapon in exchange for an increase in attack power," or something like that. He does a similar thing with his fist and his tie when he goes into Overtime, so it always more or less made sense to me. Or maybe removing his tie is a sort of "ritual" he adds to his Overtime Boost that makes it even stronger.
      JJK's power system is super interesting to me.

    • @colt1903
      @colt1903 3 дні тому

      @@grantharriman284 Whether it's sharp or not wouldn't necessarily matter too much, since the covering softens the blow regardless. The vow would obviously be more effective if it was actually sharp, cuz it would make the risk accrued by the restriction that much greater, but the vow would be beneficial either way.

  • @leobitencourt4719

    Since you guys are already way ahead of this episode - overtime is a binding vow. Much like how Sukuna made a binding vow with Yuji, a sorcerer can make a binding vow with himself. How effective it is and if it works at all depends on a lot of factors, but Nanami's Overtime makes him stronger past working hours. What he's essentially doing is essentially giving up strength during the rest of the day that can be used later past 6pm if necessary. Since he wont have to use it every day and it still makes him weaker every day during working hours, the boost should be pretty sizeable to make the drawbacks and advantages even. That's essentially what a binding vow with yourself is, equivalent exchange, but a lot more conceptual.
    The explaining your own technique makes it stronger thing is also a binding vow. You're giving up the element of surprise in favor of more effective combat.
    But there's more to it i wont get into.

    The Jimpei moral dilemma of the button is really interesting because it reveals he doesn't trust his own view of the world but at least believes he himself doesn't make it worse. That said it also means he is only concern with making things better for himself. After all if you you see yourself as a good person with good morals, pushing the button on those you hate would get rid of truly awful people while people who hate you might just not interact with and actual be doing good elsewhere.

    That moment could've changed alot for him, his friends could've helped him, is a few broken bones really that scary? Cause it woulda been the last time. He also didn't have the spirit to keep going after being hit, try telling 3+ people bigger then you to f off when ur alone in a room. It's not easy, it requires more then the ability to win.
