I like how when we see Megatron’s hand after Jack spares him, it shows that he had a plan to use the drill to escape if Jack tried to kill him
I guess Jack figured out what Megatron was going to do an decided to spare him so he could avoid a problem
@@alexale5488 no, but he clearly had more mobility in that spot than he let on
@alexale5488 if he can use his bare hand to stop and break optimus prime's blade then a drill should be a joke to him.
I love how megatron gets mad when starscream tries to blame the mining equipment thing on soundwave.
@@thedorkknight9684 tbf Megatron (Megatronus at the time) and Soundwave knew each other when they were both gladiators at Kaon
“Starscream you DARE abandon me?!”
You were trying to scrap him a second ago…
It was more like; "Get back here, I'm not done with you!" than a; "Don't leave me for dead."
I feel like that situation was moment for a redeeming opportunity of Starscream. Also, it seems like every moment of Megatron's delay for his termination was awaiting Starscream's appeal, the appearance of an autobot was an opportunity.
One would question how Megs knew that Starscream had been short-changing these mines. Then one remembers that, before he was a champion in the arena, Megatron was an energon miner. He knows a still-productive dig when he see's one!
Hey, yeah! I forgot about that! He was an Energon miner long before becoming a champion gladiator. No wonder he saw through Starscream’s lies.
You have to admire that literally all of Megatron’s past occupations are all equally incredibly useful to running the Decepticons. Beating treacherous subordinates (Starscream) and being the strongest around is cause he was a gladiator, running the Decepticons and all the politics that come with is from his time as a public rights activist, and knowing how to run Energon mining operations is from his earliest occupation as a Miner.
Don’t forget “Soundwave is quite competent at surveillance.”
Soundwave probably straight up told Megatron. (Or showed him footage of Starscream hiding it)
Megatron leader of the decepticons a energon miner????????? Huh I never knew that that's honestly kind or cool I wonder what starscream would say xD
@@jaredhamilton425 yep if only scream didn't have a big ego he could've made a good leader "studying under ur former master" doesn't exactly make u "equipped to lead" there's a lot more to be in a leader than just studying locations of con warriors knowing they probably will only obey Megatron :/

Jack's encounter with Megatron remains one of my favorite TF:P scenes to this day 🙂
probably one of the scariest and most intimidating scenes in this show in my personal opinion
@@rebelliousreptile7336 I think that's at least second place, but I'd say the scariest moment in the series is when Jack's being hunted by Black Arachnid.
If jack would’ve saved megaton he would’ve killed him on the spot. Megaton wouldn’t have any remorse for jack. He barley cares about his own warriors, think what he would do to a human… especially one helping auto bots.
@@gabeutsecks723 I Think megatron would actually be quite surprised, that an inferior organic would had, as he once himself were a simply inferior Nobody to the rest of cybertron as a simple miner.
The way Megatron keeps walking towards Starscream is so intimidating he is very much aware of the terror he instills on his enemy as well as his own troops and the fact that he knows Scream will keep limp-walking backwards is kinda funny and later as he just stands there and stares as Scream hold the ceiling is just badass
The way megatron walks towards starscream menacingly as he mercilessly roasts all of starscream’s failed attempt at treachery is quite amusing.
I absolutely adore how Megatron and Starscream move at the "Rock Bottom" scene. You can feel every emotion just from the way they move and what gestures they make. Megatron knows how superior he is to Starscream and his every move instills absolute terror into Screamer who jumps away at every sudden move from Megatron. Performances are on point as well and animation is beautiful. Not to mention how this episode also shows Megatron's mining expertise. Easily Aligned Megatron is my all time favorite version of the character.
You know, that interaction with Megatron is dreadfully terrifying on a number of levels, but one interesting aspect is that Megatron was all but begging Jack to off him just so it would save face with him in front of his troops. It would leave questionable doubt concerning his demise, and might even heap blame upon Starscream, not to mention make Megatron out to be a martyr, further encouraging his troops to fight on his behalf. Not bad for a kids show.
In my opinion, I think Megatron was actually trying to bait Jack into attacking him with the drill. Sure, his face might get a bit damaged, but I would imagine that the drill would also loosen the rocks around Megatron and he would wrestle free out of it.
@@End-of-Winter yeah that might be, this Megatron would not like to be killed by a simple human
Dumb as it may be, I'd sit and talk with him and learn what I can after freeing the others. If Arcee comes in and kills Megatron then it's no problem because the Autobots are already under fire. But for me to off him would be dumb. If any of the cons found out then they would hunt me down for sure, and with Soundwave showing he can easily lure or just send laserbeak to attack, I'd opt out of that route. Best thing to do(as barbaric and evil as it sounds) would be to free Megatron while also breaking or severing his arms and his cannon to keep him relatively harmless then take him back to base.
The part where Jack came face to face with Megatron was intense.
I suppose helping those less fortunate would be completely out of a question.
If that is the case... You might use the drill to finish me. I guarantee you will never have a better opportunity than right now.
I love Miko in this episode because it's one of the few episodes in which we can see her really serious, worried and scared instead of annoying and troublesome. Don't get me wrong, i love her usual personality but it's nice to see her showing other emotions, like a real human being would do.
what are you her stupidity to go in the cave was the reason everyone was in danger.
@@emmanuelsebi6964 - well, it was actually Megatron who caused the cave-in. And of they hadn't gone back into the cave, Megatron and Starscream would have intercepted them. So Miko being Miko might have saved everyone from getting killed by Megatron.
Megatron's fuckin grimey... Didn't say shit, just watched Starscream suffer... The look in his eyes was intense
To be fair Screamy did try to kill megatron and usurp his command on multiple occasions
@@Tazbev84 but Megatron was dumb for keeping him around for so long.
Starscream should’ve known that his evil wouldn’t go unnoticed by Megatron. Especially not when Megatron has someone like Soundwave.
@@captainbuckets1134 I dont think so as he stated he took a certain amusement in his failures. He knew that Starscream was over ambitious and would do anything for power
Even today, I keep seeing people make fun of Megatron getting mad after Starscream abandons him after Megatron tried to kill him a minute before
But y’all need to remember, Starscream begged for another chance at redemption, but the next minute, *he abandons him.* Not to mention Megatron is the leader of the Decepticons, you don’t instantly quit from an empire and not expect to be hunted down or punished; you’re condemned as a traitor
Starscream was like: “It was Soundwave’s incompetents that left these here”
And Megatron said: “Oh he’s quite competent, let me list the things he knows about you.”
Megatron accepts a lot of nonsense from Starscream, but he drew the line at implying Soundwave was incompetent, and felt the need to explicitly note it. That says something.
This episode really marks when Miko starts to grow and actually think about the effects of her actions, while still being a reckless, troublemaking adrenaline junkie. Favorite little gremlin child, flaws and all.
sorry, but when Megatron said: "Do not take me for a fool Starscream!" His eyes looked crossed!!!! 🤣
Yea. They always seemed to have trouble. Even on figures he always looks cross eyed when looking straight ahead.

@@themaskedwander When Megatron points the gun at Starscream one of his eyes is improperly rendered, they definitely had a lot of trouble throughout the series.

18:54 Surprising how Megatron would let the humans go. Either he made himself even with Jack by sparing him or he had bigger matters to contend with i.e. Starscream.
Megatron was trapped and could barely move. By the time he dug himself out they were probably long gone.

When Jack came to the rescue with that drill machine, I was shouting for joy.
Coming back to these episodes, especially Season 1 episodes, I actually LOVE the character interactions with the humans.
I remember back when the show was still airing, and for a few years after it ended, people called Miko annoying. However, this one episode and how she kept on trying to support Bulkhead and never wanting to abandon him says so much without the characters blurting out how much they care for each other
Got to give lots of love to Bulkhead. Literally holding up a cave roof even when his arms were about to give out, dealing with a punk a** Decepticon, and trying to save his human companion. From one big dude to another, I tip my hat to you Bulk! 💪
lets not forget having to deal with that annoying human companion all the time.
Yep that why I respect bulk a lot he's honestly a good father figure to some right behind optimis
I'm beginning to like the style of this series. It sits somewhere between the new movies and war for cybertron
I love how at the end of the episode Megatron just stares at Starscream, you can imagine what he's thinking.
"Your ass left me, I ain't helping you for shit."
Megatron literally tried to kill him.
He's lucky Starscream even tried to rescue him for any reason.
Megatron used hella reverse psychology on jack. Smart
Miko remembered this day when she acquired the Apex armor. Starscream likes to terrorize humans, especially squealing Miko…. But she’s a Wreaker at heart and he had to pay for it.
Let's he honest she's always been one always had a thing for thrills
You could see it in Megatron's eyes, he was just done with Starscream. It's like when you keep doing stupid shit as a kid and eventually your parents just give up

Unlikely. Soundwave doesn't like leading positions because he works best from the shadows and doesn't talk due to his vow of silence. He'd likely find some way to return Megatron to life again.
Or arachnid or breakdown would be lead, and soumdwave would be the one to keep them in check, like how arachnid was commander and wanted to leave but soumdwave shut her up
14:11 Well that was obviously bait.
Megaton would have definitely shrugged off a hit from the drill, and the moment he got free, Jack would have been dead to rights.

@@Warlord_Megatron pretty sure a drill to the eye with the intent to kill is a bit different from a sucker jab on the back
I wonder how the autobots would’ve reacted if Jack did kill Megatron? Would they be proud of him for killing their longest and most dangerous enemy when they couldn’t? Or would they be shocked and disappointed for stooping to Megatron ‘s level and taking a life? How would his mother react to him killing someone?
Everyone else would celebrate, Optimus would have been somewhat disappointed.
I can't imagine Soundwave actually ratted Starscream out. I reckon that it's more likely Megatron queried him on Starscream's activity during his convalescence.
I like how megatron looks both intimidating and like that of a pouting cat lmao
This version of Megraton has always been my favorite. He has the best personality, Voice, and Leadership skills I have seen out of all other versions of Megatron.
I wish we could get more transformer shows like prime. The show still holds up to this day, if you showed me it today and I was unaware of it’s existence, I would have believed it was a new show.
Can we take a minute to think about what might have happened if Jack had CHOSE to HELP Megatron? I feel like OP would have helped Megatron, and Jack definitely has taken the boss bot as his role model. Would Megatron honor the rescue? Would he then use Jack as a hostage? Kill him outright? Work together with Jack? The thought has my creative brain tingling thinking about the possibilities.
7:59 the way the rock flips him gets me every time
This was likely the moment Jack earned the Key to Vector Sigma.

I'm more impressed that Jack knows how to operate a cybertronian drill.
Megatron cracks a joke upon seeing Jack, and then tempts him into murder
How the hell did Jack know exactly how to turn on the Decepticon drill and how to operate it, it’s not like he’s learning Cybertronian engineering or whatever.
19:27 I wouldn't do that if I were you Starscream because Arcee is here to rescue Bulkhead you have a right to remain silent Decepticon seeker
I love how starscream always contradicts himself 😂 in this episode saying how pathetic it is to beg for mercy to bulkhead and yet did it himself to megatron lol
Can we agree miko nearly caused the death of herself and bulkhead
But if she hadn't lead them to the back of the cave they would've crossed paths with Megatron & scream and it'd would probably end badly
Megatron dying to a human would have been funny in a way jack uses a drill to kill megatron
Plot armor aside just because Optimus wouldn’t finish them doesn’t mean that they have to show the same courtesy just because they fight for good killing your enemy while they’re trapped is the same as killing them on the battlefield only when they’re trapped it’s easier
Nah, it's all about honor. It being easier to kill your enemy while they're trapped is exactly why it's not the same as on the battlefield. Everyone has the opportunity to fight on a battlefield, but killing your enemy when they have no chance to defend themselves is honorless and definitely not something they're gonna make the good guys in a children's show do LMAO
Understandable, but as someone else said in the comments, Megatron could've likely tanked that drill, and thus would've disposed of Jack as soon as he got free from the rubble.
Well Megatron was baiting the drill so that he can be freed and rip jack and starscream apart.
That drill didn't do anything to starscream so there was no way it could do any damage to megatron.
