Hi Gaz, Why don't you use 11/2 female union they come in two parts that's what I use on my pumps so all you have is just undo the nut and you can clean the pump it's so much easier mate I think they are about £10.00 each also a other great update on the pond and fish mate can you please tell me were you bought them koi fish that you have on your fence and on your shed if you could please let me know mate. The plant that you broke is a foxglove they are sold as garden plant's and are great for pollinators, giving nature a helping hand 👍.

The only problem with Acers over the pond is debris
