Hi guys, thanks for making that video! I’m from France and rebuilding a 62 at the time i just have a question about the oil filling, is there any special things to do for this automatic transmission or just filling up to the level and that’s it ? Thank you
Very cool! What part of France are you living in? I want to visit France at some point! For this, I would fill the transmission fluid up until it registers on the high side of the transmission dipstick. Then I would start the vehicle with the car in park and then would continue to fill the transmission level to the correct level based on the dipstick.
Did you replace the filter, or just clean it? I have a ‘61 convertible with the same 315 hydramatic transmission in it and cannot seem to find the proper filter for it
I do not remember, I am sorry. And I certainly do not remember where the filter would have been purchased. Not sure if this is what you are looking for www.ebay.com/itm/JetAway-315-New-Transmission-Oil-Filter-1960-64-Fits-Cadillac-Oldsmobile-Pontiac-/260051661872 Best of luck! Happy Motoring, Blair
I do my gaskets dry on the pan, never hade any leaking. And I always check if the pan are straight and if not I give it some love. But something I think you missing here are that you should drain also the Torus when you do the oil change on this transmissions, almost the half fluid are in it!
@@Revitauto That you should empty the fluid in the Torus also, almost half the fluid are in it. You have a drain bolt in it. Edit. If you look in the Cadillac 1964 Shop Manual page 10-14 under c. Change fluid and look at fig 10-15 you can see how to operate the Hydra-Matic fluid change.

Where did you put new fluid in?
Supremely cool video and damn is that car clean, but I counted 20+ "go ahead"s in the first half.

What transmission was that, jet away
I see where Cadillac used the same transmission type as the Oldsmobile, not the " turbine drive dyna flow " of the Buick.
