S3 Ep.4 (110): Hike with Moonlight Part II ✨mini gear reviews✨

- Taking advantage of some warmer weather after the monsoons, I took my furry buddy Moonlight out for a hike on local trails. I hadn't been able to hike for most of the last year (old spinal injuries) so she hadn't been out for a good woods walk in at least 6 months, all told we only walked about 1 1/2 mile, but it was an enjoyable day. 😊
In this episode, there is a couple mini-gear reviews, as well as footage from a few years back of the Boy and I running radio control trail trucks.
This is the much delayed Part II of last video. The week I had intended to post this up, the Wife had a pretty bad fall in an icy parking lot, and then a few days later I was struck down with a "severely abscessed tooth with a really bad infection" (doctor's wording), so I'm a bit behind. Hopefully we can get back to normal in the next week or two.
Small Adventures can be found (or made from) everyday's simple things, get out and enjoy the day! 😁

That's a really majestic waterfall God has given you to enjoy, brother, this made me happy to watch!
Great video sir, It's getting warmer, spring is around the corner, thanks for sharing!
Yeah that'd be a great trail to ride for real!
Moonlight sure is enjoying the outdoors...that pack is really nice..we always go out and take nothing with us..if we ever get lost we would die of thirst lolol..well sometimes I take a tissue in my pocket, in case I have to tinkle😂🤣😂..that's a nice gun and knife..you never know what or who you will run into..I fell down a mud bank a couple weeks ago on our hike, thank goodness he didn't have his video running 😂😂..I had mud everywhere..she's a good dog..oh that laughing baby lol..nice rc vehicles..I watch a couple of good rc channels..glad things are going better for you all..nice seeing you upload a video..take care Stephen
Thanks, my friend 😊🙏 I wish Scott had caught that (mud slide), that would have been fun to watch, BUT I woulda felt horrible had I laughed 🤣 We rarely get to hike for very far, so we don't often carry much either because of that. We do carry tissues for her, same reasons as you, LOL, but I've almost always got a firearm concealed and a belt knife. Just because the World Taekwondo Federation still certifies me to teach doesn't mean I want (or am as able as days past) to go 3 rounds with Sasquatch while out in the boonies 😜 She (moonlight) really does. It's a gorgeous day today, and I have the FJ (it needed an oil change and Nick insisted I bring it to his shop class at school so he could do it and do it there, LOL), I just don't think I have much hike in me today where I've been fighting this stupid tooth thing for about a week now. It was really bad Saturday morning, the real reason that I actually went to the doc's was because I was very light headed and my body temp was dropping (it was low 96's when we left the house, below 96.0 is considered hypothermic). Feeling MUCH better today (even ate Arby's, haha!), but run down/low energy.
@@SmallADVentures1973 trust me Scott turned his head, so I wouldn't see him laughing at me lolol..needless to say I called him a dick a couple times, and there was a couple sitting there just grinning😂🤣😂..it about kills my knee sometimes, but he keeps me going..I'm glad you are feeling better..I love Arbys fries 💜💜...take care Stephen

Hello Have a good day.
Thank you, and you as well 😊
I'm having a van weekend this weekend so finally getting some hikes in! That's a cool bag. Just the right size for ESSENTIALS! Your dog is super cute!
Thank you, we love her lots 🙏 She's long overdue for a trip to the groomers right now, but we figured it'd be ok for the cold months, LOL! I hope you have an awesome trip of it, my friend, I'm looking forward to seeing the videos from it (your trip) 😁
This was a busy video, lots of different topics you squeezed in this one,hey why you wreck my truck LoL 😂, those RC trucks are a lot of fun, and those little bags are pretty handy, and always carry wherever you can, ya never know when you might need it, glad you and the wife are doing better Brother 💯✌️😎
Thanks, brother. As I speak, she's doing much better, still too tender back there to sit in a hard chair, LOL, but getting there. I'm mid-antibiotic week with the abscess, but not nearly as swollen as just 2 days ago, and been eating real food again, LOL! We used to love running those rc's, spent well too much money on some of them (at one point we had a baker's dozen, all but a couple fairly well aftermarket'd and costing as much as my motorcycle would used). I've rarely felt the need to let anyone know I'm armed, but there have been a time or 2 (one is a matter of public record now). I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 though.
@@SmallADVentures1973 I know what you mean brother, glad everyone is doing better for sure, TC brother 💯👍
@@OZARKSHDRIDERS thanks, my friend, y'all too 😊
@@SmallADVentures1973 💯👍🏼
Those trail trucks are friggin cool! Hope you and fam are feeling better
Thanks brother 🙏 The trucks were a real blast, we were really into it as a family for several years 😊
I've always liked those types of sling bags. So many uses! You're a lucky human to have such a good dog. Oh and put those ciggs away bro...aside from the health benefits, they are way to $$ these days. Find me a camping spot and a place to launch the 'yak! Panfish are good eating! I think I have the same bag, I did a EDC Kit for Dual Sport Sport Motorcycles about it! Good stuff!
I always liked em too (sling bags), didn't realize when I bought this one it'd been a while since I'd actually had one, LOL! Been a while since I've had good fried panfish too. Too long 😜 And yes, they're very expensive, not just in cost...I'm convinced that 90% of my tooth issues (current and past) are smoking related 😢
Wow that water is noisy!! I couldn't hear you lol!!! The power of water amazes me!
Lol love the truck. My boys had some cool 4x4 trucks. I wonder if they still do?🤔
Yes it is, especially with all the rain we've had (more water flowing), Moonlight wanted to act like she couldn't hear me saying "Wait" too, LOL, but we both knew she just didn't wanna stop 😜 The trucks were fun, but an overly expensive hobby. The Trail Honcho RTR (silver Toyota looking truck in the video) was around $350 plus support gear (but fully assembled) and I had a few modifications added (aftermarket aluminum steering and suspension bits, wheels/tires) and the Deadbolt (green SUV) was something like $300 fully assembled. Back then I also had other Axial brand trucks that I assembled and used LOTS of aftermarket bits and bobs as I built them, I actually spent around $1,200 building one of them before buying any electronics 😮 (yes, Mrs. ADVentures was mad, haha!), but when we lost half of our income* a while back we sold them all off until we settled into the new financial realities. (*when my, along with thousands of other's, "disability income" was unlawfully taken and I'd attempted to return to work-which proved unsuccessful, as I couldn't work consistently enough--in 2017. An update on that whole debacle, this was taken all the way to the US Supreme Court last year, and the Social Security Admin were court ordered to "immediately reinstate, back up and pay every individual" that was caught in the mess, me included, but they have yet to comply).
Pretty sweet r/c cars! Nice pouches the little sand color ...I have one on my range bag for added storage. Keep a couple pass thru snakes and some hoppes in it in case of jamming.
Never have that problem (jamming) with a good ole .357 (or .44) Magnum 😜 LOL, I feel ya though, I do have a couple .357's, but I'm a 15+1 round pistol kinda guy myself, I never wanna be found shot to death for lack of firing back enough times (I do have a Taurus Model 308 .357 that hold 8 rounds, but that's still single digit). I shot those bits about selling them before the whole beer scare (Corona virus) took hold of everyone, but being real, a guy would need a shed full of every color available and have it on hand to make any kinda $ selling them imo. These are probably the exact same ones I've seen on that wish.com app anyways, LOL, but hey, at least the ones I have seem to be well made and I'm happy with em 😊 I'm glad you get to get out and shoot, brother, picturing you at the range having a blast makes me happy 😁
Small ADVentures oh I get out there brother! I use to be a 15+1 guy and the nazi govt in NJ banned those mags. Now I’m a 10+1 guy. I don’t own any wheel type YET.
@@WideOpenThrottle I feel ya, I'm a Virginia native (Tennessee by choice, haha), ugh. There's something about the simple elegance of a well made revolver that I've always enjoyed, I guess from shooting with my grampa (dad's side) as a kid, he always had a .22 and a .38 Special he would let me shoot (as in, he'd give me a pocket full of bullets at 10 years old, turn me loose outdoors....different times I guess, but we weren't complete morons back then, you didn't have to say "don't try this at home" when you watched Tom & Jerry, we knew not to light explosives shoved up under a dog's butt, LOL).
Small ADVentures same thing here. I’ve always lived here but couldn’t shoot firearms...but, I was able to shoot a pellet rifle in the back yard at around 10 years old. Now you need a firearms ID card to buy them here. Use to be able to go to your local sport shop and pick one up. Not anymore damn nazis lmao
@@WideOpenThrottle wow 😢 Man...we had a gun club in high school, we'd often bring them to class and do some good old fashioned horse trading, now a days your kid gets arrested for eating a poptart in the shape of one, smh 🤦♂️
