The only thing noticeable in the beginning is that episode 8's version of carn-evils beginning is that it's abit more brighter and when Mugmans pancakes drop one is sticking to the wall instead.
When the episode was playing, I thought Netflix glitched and sent me to the first episode. By the time I was about to check the episode list, Mugman got eaten. Took me COMPLETELY off guard at that moment.

The fact that the FIRST nightmare-ish thing happened to Mugman shows how much he cares, his nightmare could've easily been focused on him, and the Devil, but nope! First thing that happened was something bad happening to his brother, and then to Elder Kettle, and THEN it ends with the Devil taking his soul! I could go even further and say what Mugs said to him before he got eaten by the freaking wall, probably tells us that Cuphead feels like he has a responsibility to save Mugman, since Cups knows he looks up to him and goes to him when he's scared! Call it an older brother instinct (it's been confirmed Cuphead is older ^^) Like, if he's not the one to help and save his little brother, then he would fail him, and he'd probably blame himself for what happened to him... Sorry for making this a bit long, and a little dark at the end there, but I love overanalyzing my favorite cartoons and characters :D

My theory on why they remade footage of episode 1 in episode 8: It was a callback to how earlier cartoons used to reuse animation to save money and time(Like how Winnie The Pooh reused animation from The Jungle Book).
if they did reuse it, thats not lazy...? and besides, i think they pretty much did, nothing wrong with that why would you reanimate the same scene for no reason? theres a reason they say work smarter not harder

My reaction to episode 8 scene made me think that they only had 7 episodes and that the show looped back but I saw the name of the episode also seeing that there's 12 episodes i still was confused but seeing the face on the wall I now know that this is a different episode.the episode still confused me because I was thinking what the face wall was and why the goat turned into the devil but soon I see cuphead wake up and I now knew that he was dreaming anyways the show is good but the last episode made me mad because it was a cliffhanger.
