    I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

      If I will what? It is a phrase occasionally usd if making an anology, or simile, or odd comparison and then means "If you will allow me some stretch of language" or such. Lots of times it just becomes a substitute for "umm" or "you know" and other such lame thought process stalls.

    EXCELLENT! Thank you very much for the information. The angle that the tree falls as it intersects earth, is so important. If the gap provided is too shallow there is going to be SNAP! It is that snap has the potential to really suck.

  • @MarkAspery
    @MarkAspery 8 років тому +14

    I have watched this and your other (actual felling) video a number of times and found them both to be very useful in clearing my own lot. Thank you.
    Two things that I didn't pick up at first was the black 'sighting' line on the saw (which is very useful) but more importantly that the "HOLDING WOOD" is not parallel to the hinge, but cut at an angle to allow the wedge to be placed almost perpendicular to the hinge. I don't think that this is stated or described in your video, but it is shown.
    One tree that caused me some indigestion was one that was 2-inches wider that my bar, and so I was left to fish around to match up the plunge cuts.

    • @hiscifi2986
      @hiscifi2986 5 років тому

      Yea, trying to match two cuts to meet is a real problem, that I have not yet seen a video describe an answer. Too often we see 'experts' end up with two or three parallel (or not.) back cuts. Sometimes the notch is made with so many cuts that don't meet.

      @kivaswander5537 5 років тому

      @@hiscifi2986 I don't think making several back-cuts impacts the effectiveness of the last one, although if youre felling a leanign you may have to stack wedges on top of each other the get back the elevation last by eating up that wood

      @kivaswander5537 5 років тому

      @@lazerbeedotcom2630 I would thick you wouldn't want to only leave 2 inches left on one side of a last tree though>? better to not insert the whole bar and cut no more than 70% of the diameter so if doesn't fall before you walk to the other side.. just my assumption

    I was the ONLY person on the planet who gets gets annoyed by such ‘speaking jargon’ like:
    . If you will
    . Between you & me
    . Let me be honest for a moment
    . Be that at it may
    . Cutting to the chase
    . So.. as I was saying
    . It is what it is
    So from the Media, to Journalists, Politicians, Bar Room chatter, etc...
    they all do it but used once would suffice! Ohhh well ..I guess there’s more in life to be annoyed with .. right ? That is... (If you will) !!!! 😜
