Between the water and the traffic I hope you both stay safe. Place looks so beautiful and an ideal area to relax. Also I need Avocado juice in my life, it sounds so good. Thanks for another great video ☺️📸🥰
My favorite way to eat Kokis is with milk rice and chilli chutney (lunu miris). Custard biscuits are my favorite cream biscuits too. I usually dip it into unsweetened plain tea 😋😋
Hey Tony! We recommend getting or asking for a vaporiser that you can plug in while you sleep, this helps us a lot with mosquitoes and during the day just use some citronella to keep them away 👍 cheers 🍻
Hi Luke and Naomi… I’m from Chennai ( madras - south India) but live in the Northern Ireland Belfast city with my wife and my daughter since 2000 . I just started to watch your most beautiful island Sri Lanka videos and did subscribe and to be honest it’s all amazing and fantastic. Thank you both. HAVE A GREAT CHRISTMAS AND ENJOY YOUR SPECIAL HOLIDAY IN SRI LANKA . ❤
Hi Manioc & Cassava are both same. Kokis is a Sri Lankan traditional food mostly prepared for new year celebrations or a special occasions like weddings of Singhalese. There are many other traditional sweets you can try. Enjoy your stay. Good luck to both of you. You are doing a great exploration in the paradise island ❤️❤️
Hi both, The original puff is brand Malliban which is much better than Munchee. In deed the munchee was started by a person who worked at Malliban and got their recipes!
Nice u had the snacks! Kevum would go with Kokis during New Year. U will defo find some cause the New Year in Jan is coming soon. Next NY is in April haha Try the drinks now! Faluda, Milo, Necto (elephant house) :D
Lovely to see you continue to appreciate Sri Lanka. Try hoppers, string hoppers, pittu and roti for breakfast and/or dinner; the lunch can be your full monty followed by a siesta.
Manioc and Cassava both are same but as a Cassava farmer i can confirm there is a two type of cassava, one that more floury and has colour light yellow when it boil with water and it most of the time much more short than other one and Dorsal too. The other one is more thinner and long , it's mostly frying and has more crispy than other one and also it has white colour when it boil with water. And also they both have little taste different too Great vlog ❤️ i enjoy it so much 😍😍
I am of Sri Lankan descent, but live in the UK, and have gone 'home ' 30 times'! I absolutely love your humble, generous, fun and kind approach to your videos. Not to mention the authentic nature of the content. Thank you so much for promoting the beautiful island of Sri Lanka. We are humbled. Errol
Hi guys Thank you for visiting Srilanka during the hard time for us and promoting our products to the world and please go for authentic Srilankan foods. Specially when comes to busicuts munchee is the best and thay have huge varity that you should try.. thanks guys and ❤
Good video.. Buses in Sri Lanka are like Rollercosters 😀😀 there are lots of adventures out there, and lots of food to enjoy.. hope you guys come again... 😍😍
I have watched almost all the videos of your channel. You guys are doing amazing job to promote Sri Lanka tourism industry. Talking about Sri Lankan snacks, I would like to recommend Munchee Kome Rice Crakcers, Potato Kokis(Available in Cargills Super markets), Munchee Chock Shock, Munchee Tiffin, Munchee Photato Crackers, Munchee Karapincha crackers and Munchee Chocolate Chips cookiez
Hi, Kokis is something we eat during Sri Lankan New Year Celebration in April (13th & 14th). U must try “ Kaum”/Kavum”, also for New Year. But sometimes u can find them throughout the year. It's dark brown & a bit sweet. Please ask around & maybe someone even make them for u. Enjoy as much as u can. Your last week. Merry Christmas
As a Aussie who spends my winters between Bali and Sri Lanka enjoy every moment of your days ... its Gods gift for your hearts and your memories will be the diamonds that will carry you for the many ordinary days that await your lives in Ireland ... love Gods blessings.
Hi Luke, There is a dry fish called Bombili. Smells very strong and most people hate and even don’t let others to cook, it’s so disgusting! But people who love it are very crazy about it. It’s now or never for you. There is another salad called bitter gaurd fried salad. Try some ripen Jack fruit with pepper. Most importantly try white raw rice , sea fish chilli curry with fresh scraped coconuts… And also you can ask a middle age lady about “dhiya bath(bath is rice in Sinhala and the vowel A in bath sounds like U in cut). We use leftover rice from previous night and to it onions, chilli, curry leaves and coconut milk are added. It cools down your body.
Casava/manioc chips are indeed delicious snacks but, make sure you do not combine these with ginger based food and drinks cos this combination could lead to health issues. Apart from this everything else, food wise of course have no issues so, do go ahead and savour all the food options that tickle your taste buds.
Hope you are having an absolutely fantastic time over there. You probably might get some traditional sweets during Christmas if you are in Hikkaduwa during that time. Balapitiya isn't too far from Hikkaduwa and that's where most of the Maadhu ganga boat safari's happen. Points of interests there includes Island temples, Cinnamon Islands and Fish therapy Also try and visit Canal View Restaurant if it's nearby (Hikkaduwa) and they might teach you how to make some traditional Sri Lankan food :D
next time, when you want to try kokis, try to find some home made ones. personally as someone who has had his fair share or kokisses, these supermarket kokisses are not that good. you'll be flabergasted if you try my mother's kokisses. amazing!
Ohh i am hungry for some Sri Lankan snacks. Naomi those crispy round things you ate are Kokis. Traditional Sri Lankan food we eat at special occasions. I think their origins are from dutch cookies - Sri Lankan version Kokis. And you don't eat that with a dip 😄
Please visit Haputhale, Bandarawela, Badulla areas. Enjoy the real beauty of the nature in Sri Lanka. Thank you so much “TWO MAD EXPLORERS”…. ස්තූතියී (Sthuthii)
@@TwoMadExplorers By the way, Kasawa and manioc both same guys. Try to find Manioc steamed and eat with raw ground coconut and “Lunumiris” (Spicy Sri Lankan Sambol). Taste heaven.
