The Arrow exhausts also impact installing the (OE) MG Centre-Stand - it requires a special stop bracket (+$$). I fitted a Givi flat tail rack with little problem (best to get the shocks fully extended to help bolt removal/replacement, etc.) and it appears to keep the styling of the bike. Soft tail bag can be attached. I have a set of Burly pannier bags (for the T120) but they almost scrunch up against the Arrow exhaust - that's why I went with the tail rack. If I need more than a day ride I'll strap on a 20-30L Dry Bag and ride out!

I fully agree with your decision to use throwover panniers instead of hideous scaffolding which completely ruins the looks of ANY BIKE. I fitted my Honda CB1100RS with a chrome luggage rack, partly for a small leather tool & essentials bag, and partly for something to grab hold of when manoeuvring and using the centre stand. I also have a pair of matching leather throwover panniers and a pillion seat bag for use when necessary. Happy 2024.
Thanks for this video. I have a 2023 Special and it got me thinking.....If someone changes the exhausts they will also likely encounter this issue even on a bike where initially these do fit with standard pipes. I'll do the same as you and just use throw overs :)

Sportsbikeshop are great, I've bought many things from them over the past couple of year's from clothing to electronics as well as luggage solutions, and I never had a problem if I needed to return something. It's a bit of a bummer that MG uses a separate subframe for the V7 special, and because it's so new, the aftermarket manufacturers haven't caught up yet. Soft luggage and a tank bag seem like the order of the day until Givil, Hepco and Becker or SW moto make soft luggage for the V7 special. Best wishes for 2024 for you and your family. Good news on the subscriber numbers, the MG V7 should pull more in as feature it in your videos.

I have just had a thought ,maybe they never envisaged anyone requiring to interfere with the cool aesthetics of a special edition , by fitting such monstrosity’s as pannier racks, so haven’t commissioned Givi to supply any to fit . I reckon your throw over solution is the best way to go ,& more in keeping with the classic lines & better for nipping though tight gaps . I agree, much of the appeal of modern classic bikes rests in their simple, traditional lines. A big holdall bungee strapped to the pillion seat suffices for the rare occasions I need to haul luggage. My old Beemer had hard cases, and I didn't use them enough to warrant the aesthetic compromises.

Luggage is always a compromise between looks and functionality, l always hated the top box l fitted to my cb1300 but when two up my wife appreciated it to lean against and for helmet storage when we got somewhere. All the best for the new year Dave
Thanks for all the wonderful vids. I Believe I have discovered the perfect pannier system for the V7. This system will retain the stunning looks and lines of the V7 and not make it look like an around town bomber. The system I am referring to is called a Back Pack
Unless someone’s already mentioned them, there is a system Givi have recently released known as the Remove-X which you fix a part to the bike, and has a slot which allows you to attach /remove a framework which attach to the panniers, so you can use the bars only when you have the bags on. I use them with the soft Corium bags on my ‘21 Stone 850. They are very easy to use and the Coriums suit the bike so well.
Must admit to being quite relieved at your pannier decision and you have my sympathies over the trouble, stress and tendonitis, that you had to endure. I totally 'get' the usefulness of hard luggage attachments and on certain bikes, (pan European), they're fine, but the Guzzi is a different beast and will be great with the soft option being slung over when required. I had a beautiful old pair of leather bags for my old XS Eleven, and they served me well for years. Happy New Year mate; lets hope for a good 'un.
Give some thought to H&B C-Bow frames, as they are nicely discreet and would not spoil the lines plus potential if you can take the mounts off your givi bags you can remount C-Bow mounts and re-use the givi bags or just buy H&B C-Bow bags loads of options.
I love my Longride panniers on my interceptor. They are very non-obtrusive and minimalistic brackets and the leather and waxed canvas bags are Awsome. I leave them on all the time and they add to the retro look. You might give them a look and a call.

I had a similar problem on my Leoncino 800 Trail which you reviewed a while back. I bought mine on the strength of that and then ordered some Kappa/Givi fitting kit and luggage to which I had to cut away part of the r/h bracket for it to clear the high level silencer. I contacted Kappa and advised them of my modification. They are looking into it. Still, it should not of happened with a massive company like Kappa/Givi.

Sportsbike Shop are absolutely fantastic to buy from. I've always had great service when things have gone pear-shaped. Have you had a look at the Hepco and Becker C-Bow system for your bike? I run it on my Royal Enfield, and it's brilliant. Two small brackets that will be well clear of your exhaust and a great range of high-quality bags for all occasions. I just picked up a set of Hepco and Becker re-production Krauser cases for my BMW, and once again, the quality speaks for itself. I'm not a huge fan of soft luggage; too many straps to keep away from wheels and paintwork.
Hi yes I watched your content on the Krausers and the H&B C bow mounts. I agree that the C Bow system looks really stylish and with lots of luggage options too….just not cheap 😁 I’m still grappling with the way forward as soft bags don’t protect the equipment and yes are rather “strap intensive”. Sportsbike shop are a grand role model for other suppliers I’ve never been able to fault them over the years. Ride safe buddy and keep up the great content 😊👍🏻

I know it's been 8 months since this video was released, however, I just wanted to say Hepco and Becker make a C-Bow saddlebag mounting system that fits the V7 Special Edition. They also have some pretty snazzy bags that work with them. I am considering buying a V7 SE if I can still get my hands on one. I, however will be going with a Givi top case rather than bags so I can still get a good view of the bike. Bags cover too much. Also, I won't have to worry about snagging bags on anything. I always prefer having my bikes as narrow as possible. Plus, a top case is much easier to access than side mounted cases or bags.

Sw motech blaze panniers are good just a block on a fireblade trip to Italy didn't notice when not in use, very good panniers. Just a thought they do a hard mount for v7 special
Xr 250 Front drive sprocket retainer washers are a nightmare to get right when buying of Ebay .. and even my.local bike shop got it wrong .. and still does .. 2 different types and not in any way clear . . All the best for 2024 🎉
Please do yourself a favor and check out a guy named Franco Cuoio of Palermo, Italy. His company makes the bags (panniers) that you need. They are VERY nice! He makes a set just for your Special Edition. Super high quality hand made. This guy is a true artisan and does things the right way. And his products will fit your Guzzi. Love your channel, by the way. Keep on waxing poetic and thank you for sharing!
As you say I think you are going to have problems due to the exhaust position. Sport bike shop I’ve always found excellent in the refund department. I use the hepco and Becker c bow on my V7 iii which is far shallower. They might work but again I’d want to check, I can measure and provide measurements if required.

Dave I didn't want to comment negatively so kept quiet , but I could not believe you were fitting ugly pannier rails to a special edition bike that was built for it's looks ...it was like putting 'go-faster' stripes on an E-Type, sacrilege !! The whole thing begs the question why would MG go to the bother of changing of all things the frame to fit different exhausts on a few special edition model's ? ( I'm guessing the new SE has the same adaptation) I suppose it shows the ability of a relatively small volume in house manufacturer.
You should have said David as it’s a very good point to make and one I’ve come around to….just a matter of carrying my gear if I’m filming but the throw overs should handle that 👍🏻
l agree with other contributors fitting panniers to the Guzzi is a No, No....Throw-overs much better idea. Some Bikes look okay with luggage..ie:- adventure or dedicated touring bikes..Bikes like the Guzzi definitely not. Happy New Year..from España
when i saw that bike i was very impressed ;;; what a looker, then for your own use/youtube content you said you are going to fit pannier rails ;;; -- my heart sank a little , to me ruination ,, --- but your needs are different to mine and you do more mileage ,, cut and shut is an option ,,, so is adding more dog hairs ,,, but not really ehh ,, as i said before - sportsbike are very good on returns - told to me by my friends that work on bikes ,,, so i back up what i say and if they don't refund you i will - no questions asked ,, eddie agrees , ,,, that bike is designed as a naked and looks great with that arrow exhaust routed like it is ;;;

Hepco Becker do lots of luggage fitting kits for your model of v7 special. Hard panners or semi Hard. Plus crash bars racks ect
C-Bow Mount. There's one specially for the Stone Special.

I know it's been 8 months since this video was released, however, I just wanted to say Hepco and Becker make a C-Bow saddlebag mounting system that fits the V7 Special Edition.
They also have some pretty snazzy bags that work with them.
I am considering buying a V7 SE if I can still get my hands on one.
I, however will be going with a Givi top case rather than bags so I can still get a good view of the bike.
Bags cover too much.
Also, I won't have to worry about snagging bags on anything.
I always prefer having my bikes as narrow as possible.
Plus, a top case is much easier to access than side mounted cases or bags.

I bought some 2 piece leathers from sportsbikeshop which turned out to be faulty and had no problem getting a refund. They're pretty good.

Think of it more as a narrow escape from buggering up the lines of your bike. See you sometime at the A59 for a mug of steam in the new year

Interestingly, the aftermarket manufacturers were quick off the mark with the V100.
Sw motech blaze panniers are good just a block on a fireblade trip to Italy didn't notice when not in use, very good panniers. Just a thought they do a hard mount for v7 special

Xr 250 Front drive sprocket retainer washers are a nightmare to get right when buying of Ebay .. and even my.local bike shop got it wrong .. and still does .. 2 different types and not in any way clear . . All the best for 2024 🎉

Please do yourself a favor and check out a guy named Franco Cuoio of Palermo, Italy. His company makes the bags (panniers) that you need. They are VERY nice! He makes a set just for your Special Edition. Super high quality hand made. This guy is a true artisan and does things the right way. And his products will fit your Guzzi.

As you say I think you are going to have problems due to the exhaust position. Sport bike shop I’ve always found excellent in the refund department. I use the hepco and Becker c bow on my V7 iii which is far shallower. They might work but again I’d want to check, I can measure and provide measurements if required.

Dave I didn't want to comment negatively so kept quiet , but I could not believe you were fitting ugly pannier rails to a special edition bike that was built for it's looks ...it was like putting 'go-faster' stripes on an E-Type, sacrilege !!
The whole thing begs the question why would MG go to the bother of changing of all things the frame to fit different exhausts on a few special edition model's ? ( I'm guessing the new SE has the same adaptation) I suppose it shows the ability of a relatively small volume in house manufacturer.
You should have said David as it’s a very good point to make and one I’ve come around to….just a matter of carrying my gear if I’m filming but the throw overs should handle that 👍🏻
l agree with other contributors fitting panniers to the Guzzi is a No, No....Throw-overs much better idea. Some Bikes look okay with luggage..ie:- adventure or dedicated touring bikes..Bikes like the Guzzi definitely not. Happy New Year..from España

when i saw that bike i was very impressed ;;; what a looker, then for your own use/youtube content you said you are going to fit pannier rails ;;; -- my heart sank a little , to me ruination ,, --- but your needs are different to mine and you do more mileage ,, cut and shut is an option ,,, so is adding more dog hairs ,,, but not really ehh ,, as i said before - sportsbike are very good on returns - told to me by my friends that work on bikes ,,, so i back up what i say and if they don't refund you i will - no questions asked ,, eddie agrees , ,,, that bike is designed as a naked and looks great with that arrow exhaust routed like it is ;;;
