I was diagnosed in 95'. It's been a tough battle with anxiety from being overly sensitive. I'm a pretty happy go lucky guy. But I do get overwhelmed with massive energy bursts. Its a bit much. So I started hitting the gym 6 months ago. Game changer! I'm burning off that excess energy and feeling more relaxed now. 👍👍

I’ve just discovered your channel and i have subscribed.
I am now 67 and realised i had ADHD when i was 64. It was less of a lightbulb moment and more of a whole stadium of floodlights coming on. It answered so much of what i had struggled with for decades. Inattentive, spacey, disorganised, procrastinating, money problems, impulse spending, temper tantrums and being extremely emotional. And so much more.
One thing I would be interested to know; I was born breech (bottom first) and often wonder if that couldn’t be a factor in having this condition. Although I do believe my late mother probably had it, and also my sister.
I also have two autistic great nephews, one who is non-verbal.

There is no way the position of birth could cause or influence a mental health condition that's... Ridiculous

I was recently re-diagnosed with ADHD during this month but prior to that I was diagnosed back in middle school when I was in 6th grade back in 2015. I had taken concerta throughout my entire time being in middle school and high school. I tried so hard to reject the idea of ADHD being something that's apart of me. Which is why after I graduated high school in 2021 I stopped taking my medication right after I graduated. and for the past three years now it has been a challenge to pay attention and get things done and I've struggled tremendously at work , school, home, and relationships. But getting answers from my psychiatrist has helped out a ton. And this video has open my mind to a lot that I still have to learn about ADHD and why i'm different from others. The Journey that i'm on and how ADHD can be used as a strength and not some weakness or flaw.

I’m 40 now. Diagnosed around age 7. Runs in my family. Im struggling lately, a lot going on. Causing conflict with my partner unnecessarily. I’m losing control of my behaviour more lately. I feel lost and really need help.

Im very happy you are starting to make in depth regular videos because i sometimes have the need to explain adhd to others and best way is to send a video.
While your shorts are great but in depth videos will be great help for us all.

      Thank you as well.
Hopefully in the future you can make a video about the not very "mainstream" symptoms, the emotional sensitivity, food or other habits addiction, the "not asking for help", the unnecessary apologies, etc.
You go doctor and best of luck!

Yay! 🎉 Instagram follower here and I’m so excited for your long-form content❤ I think ADHDers are often left to figure things out on their own after initial diagnosis, so this type of video series is so helpful-thank you!

I relate too much to all of this. It’s scary being in a home that doesn’t accept cognitive or mental deficiencies. Life has been hard due to the manifestations of what I think this is. Im also a substance abuse counselor and I’m learning a lot with all of your content. I’m going to try and get diagnosed soon( kinda scared).
    Thank you Doc🙏🏾

54 years old and getting my assessment in a week. So close to having the final pieces of who I am but Marriage is collapsing and not sure the diagnosis will help.

Thank you so much for all the info you share here and on Instagram. I was recently diagnosed at 32 years old (after quite the runaround through doctors) and suspect my mom and brother have it as well. My sisters son also has autism and adhd and my younger brother had (he was murdered hence the had) autism and adhd but he was adopted. I so wish I was dignosed a lot sooner so I could have some answers/reasoning behind why I struggled so much in school and life in general and maybe some treatment that could have helped. Thank you for sharing info to help me understand how my brain works and validating a lot of my feelings 💕

Hey Dr Sasha, I wonder how my mother got ADHD. I am diagnosed, but she is not, however I think she got ADHD as she is disorganized and impulsive like me.

So adhd can last into adulthood? Then some adhd doesnt, how does it make sense since adhd is genetic?
Adhd by birth issues etc, that i would classify as none genetic adhd alike.
Could you do about how its to have both high functioning autism and adhd together .. and how/what differ compared to those without diagnoses or have either adhd or autism alone

My dr referred me to a neurologist when I asked to be tested for adhd. neurologist referred me to psychotherapy 😂

a psychotherapist can still diagnose you (although they can't give medication)! but yeah, its annoying that its always such a run around.

So I have adhd. Neither one of my parents have it but cousins on both sides of my family do. Any idea of where you think it came from? Could it be that I was in the NICU for a week when I was born
