My goal is to give my opinion AND recommendations. Some are obviously 100% subjective (Valk Power), but the important ones that I highly recommend are all in roughly the right spot. I don't ever recommend cubes D tier or lower so I feel their exact placement is not a big deal. Also, as I mentioned, all of these cubes are good. They would score 90%+ compared to all cubes. The tiers are very close to each other because they only distinguish that last fraction of difference, so don't put too much focus on the difference between B and C tier, etc.
One time me and one of my friends were messing around with our cubes, and I was trying to make his Cyclones Boys better. When I figured out it was as tight as it could go, (which was extremely loose) i loosened all the sides A LOT. Then I started speesolving it and I was like "Hey, I can almost do 360's on this!" Then the white side exploded all over the room. :P
I-Urudux XD Jokes aside, I have the nonmagnetic version and love it as well It may not be the best out of the box but at this point I think I’ve set it up perfectly for myself. Actually I came up with a little workaround to leave the screws out (so the tension is supposed to be pretty loose) but made the springs tighter to make it more controllable because it’s too loose normally and spins too fast (I kind of took the idea from the GTS2M’s spring system, though mine isn’t adjustable on the go) So now it’s controllable (just like with my old not cornercutting-friendly setting) but actually can cut 45° now
J perm “you can’t go wrong on a GTS2” Guys take my advice seriously this is so true I have been maining a GTS2M for like 2/3 years and I bought the GAN XS as a new year gift thinking it would be nice I tried it, did solves on it and tried different customisations I found out that I just don’t like the GAN XS for its very light feel. I have harsh turning and so I always lockup/overshoot on the XS After some time I decided to switch back to my GTS2M My genuine advice is to buy the GTS2M, then try different cubes at competitions to see which top up (GAN XS/WRM/Valk Elite) you enjoyed the most then buy the cube Don’t buy a cube simply because it’s popular, I wasted $60 on a cube I didn’t like at all
The MGC Elite itself is already a better cube. Mainly because it’s newer (GTS2M is such an old model I got it back in 2017) and newer cubes usually have better traits Not to mention it has much more customisability than the GTS2M
Marcus Nguyen The GTS2M has really weak magnets, the MGC has two settings that are supposed to be strong and weak but in fact even the strong setting is quite weak. The WRM also has light magnets I personally like weak magnets so this has never been a problem for me, but if you do like strong magnets you should really consider the GAN XS or GTS3M. Both are very fast cubes with strong magnets that gives a distinct snap with every turn.
The MGC does not have strong magnets although for me it is sufficient because I don’t use strong magnets Pretty average traits I guess: shades look ok, the glossy texture feels nice, corner cutting is on par with other speed cubes, there are customisable tensions, just nothing really special Out of the box it has that sandy feeling to it but that can be solved if you lube it with Martian It is very cheap like one third the price of GAN cubes but its performance is just slightly worse. If you’re looking for a good deal this is the thing you should buy
It's so funny how here the Tengyun is at an E tier but it is still being recommended 2 years later by himself as it fulfils a niche of having great m slices, being silent and being fast and having light magnets, which make it good for OH, 3BLD and Roux. What this shows is almost all modern speedcubes are very good, and you should choose based on your preferences instead of it just being objective.
I think it would be helpful to do a graph of the properties. Helps people who have a sense of what they are looking for. So something like fast/slow vs magnet and then somehow incorporate cost and corner cutting in some other visual way (colors or sizes)
It's not a frickin redesign. U can just customise it. All u can change that isn't already in the cube is the magnet strength and the internal piece colour. So think before u comment stupid things
I'm sitting here with a DaYan Guhon V2 from way back in the day looking at these new cubes. I messed around with cubes for a while a few years back and just recently got interested again. And now I'm sitting here waiting on a couple new cubes to come in the mail because jesus christ the tech for speed cubes has come a long ways it seems. Maybe people wont be able to bust my cube apart as easily when I let them play with it XD

@exodus21v20 Its just a valk, making a valk faster and then putting magnets for stability is just another normal valk that is 14 USD more expensive
