Remember how Dispatch said they would reveal the dating between a TOP gen 4 female idol and an actor just to end up talking about Lee Naeun seemingly dating soccer player Lee Kang In, which she herself also quickly denied?
Do you see how weird the case is? One, Lee Naeun isn’t the top gen 4 idol, though she is famous, and Lee Kang In is a soccer player, not an actor . Not to mention this is also one of the rarest times Dispatch’s news about dating being denied.
Now, with Karina’s dating news broke out, the dots are connected and the future seems to not be so bright for Karina at all.

There is nothing wrong with being an idol and dating. I strongly support Karina and her boyfriend's relationship. They are human and deserve to be happy.
But there is a big BUT in it...
It's not about idols being human or idols being able to fall in love or idols having the right to be happy, it's about the future of the group in Karina's hands. Since she is the center of Aespa then she is Aespa itself, so if she is involved in a scandal like this then the name of Aespa is at stake. You can see the future of 3 people there, in Karina's hands.
I'm not defending anyone or blaming anyone, I'm putting myself in the middle between the idol's and the fans' point of view.
But the only thing I get is a big BUT there and it all leads to the other Aespa members. Even if this is just the media and SM's plan, there's still a big BUT.
Because Kpop it's NOT only about music anymore...
People who have known Kpop for a long time know this...
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but the fans that people call crazy, weird, need to get a life, and people say that they should touch the grass...
Believe it or not, they are a big part of Aespa's strength.
Because without fans who are completely crazy about idols, willing to do anything to support idols, idols will not be able to survive. Unless the group is already as big as BP.
If you think what I'm saying is wrong, think about one thing...
No one in their right mind would spend millions of dollars on a stranger.
    Bro, I won't do that 😂
If I say I'll buy their albums to show my support, I'll only buy one or two, not as many as those fans.
If they're losing a lot of fans who are willing to throw away a lot of money for a lot piece of cd that they won't even use all, or a small piece of paper with a picture of a stranger's face, I'm sorry to say, that's a big mistake, bro 😭
But that's if she still wants to be an idol, if she wants to be like the pinned comment said, then go ahead.
She doesn't need crazy fans to support her doing that but she'll probably be surrounded by poor fans who probably don't spend as much money as me... with little popularity... and little work.
Life is hard but we are also always given choices. So...
But I really hope there are still many fans who are crazy about her no matter what happens lol
(I read one of the replies in the pinned comment and I couldn't stop thinking about it...
Like... I did think about that before but her/his words really slapped me. Idk why...)

You're touching on a complex aspect of K-pop culture that's both intricate and polarizing. The intertwining of personal lives with professional identities in the idol industry is indeed a double-edged sword. On one hand, idols like Karina deserve happiness and personal freedom. On the other, their actions inevitably ripple through the group's future and fandom dynamics.
Your point about the significance of fan support in K-pop cannot be overstated. Fans' enthusiasm, often seen as over-the-top, is indeed a cornerstone of a group's success. The dedication and financial support of these fans are unparalleled, contributing significantly to the idols' careers and the industry's economy.
However, it's also crucial to evolve our understanding of idol-fan relationships. While financial support is vital, so is the emotional and moral support that respects idols' personal lives and decisions. This doesn't mean fans' feelings are invalid but highlights the need for a balance where idols can thrive professionally without sacrificing their personal happiness.
Karina's situation opens up a broader dialogue about these dynamics and the future of K-pop. It's a reminder that as the industry grows, so too should our empathy and understanding towards the individuals who bring so much joy through their art.
As fans, supporting idols in their professional endeavors while respecting their personal choices is a form of love that can help sustain their careers in a healthier way. It's a challenging path to navigate, but one that could lead to a more sustainable and fulfilling relationship between idols and their fans. It's all about finding that balance and moving forward with compassion and understanding.

@@BeBossTV Yeah, I also think after this Karina scandal, people might start to open their eyes about K-Pop, especially teenagers who have just become fans.
I like that you don't judge those fans, because what I feel towards them is actually just sad, like what I feel towards Karina. And I hope people won't judge them too harshly.
Because this is not about individuals but about "K-Pop" itself. In situations like this, people can't just see it from one side, and it's wrong if people say that disappointed and sad fans.. are crazy, insane, and delusional. Judging them like they forgot that their idol is also human. But I hope people also don't forget that those fans are human too.
Maybe some of them are excessive, but those are their feelings. It's real, they're hurt, they're disappointed, and they're allowed to feel that, it's normal. Because they're human, and not because they forgot that their idol is also just a regular human. (Btw this is only for toxic fans because things like this happen, not for fans who are toxic all the time hating/insulting anyone and anything other than their favorite idol. Ngl, I also don't know what kind of creatures they are 😭)
If we look closely and understand 'K-Pop', we'll see that the mental health of idols and fans is both at stake. Most K-Pop fandoms are not just toxic about things like this but about small, nonsensical things.
I'm thinking about all your words and not hoping for anything other than good things. But big hopes like no toxic fans, or supporting each other healthily, understanding each other's feelings and mental state, treating each other like regular humans, those things in K-Pop for me are like hoping to get rich just by sleeping 🥹
Unless the K-Pop industry has to erase all the history they've created or has to stop making fanservice its culture. Like... Seriously, if they want fans to stop crossing boundaries or understand, agencies and idols themselves also shouldn't forget that the fans they'll attract with the fanservice they'll use are also humans. Who have different ways of thinking, different hearts, and different mental states. Especially if those fans are still underage.
K-Pop is growing and known in various countries, yes, K-Pop is growing but the way they attract fans hasn't changed at all. But if there are fans like this, everyone will blame them. People are wrong if that happens and only blame fans because they exist also because they were created by K-Pop itself.

@@BeBossTV K-Pop itself creates and embeds toxicity in people's minds without them realizing it through fanservice that doesn't even feel like fanservice. Like double standards, aesthetic slavery, objectification, gender stereotypes, shippers culture, and the worst of all is involving LGBTQ+ representation that is too forced. I really hate it but what I feel is never listened to even though I've said it many times.
Fanservice pretending or portraying themselves as gay on stage or in front of the camera is very insulting, demeaning, and harmful to the LGBTQ+ community. They use it only for their fans' misguided fantasies. But even gay people in this world still experience discrimination and are insulted to the point of absurdity.
LGBTQ+ is not something trivial and easy to attract fans or profit. It's also not something that can be used just to make fans go crazy, or to please the disgusting fantasies of K-Pop fans. Idols who do that and the fans who are "pleased" by it, even their opinions on LGBTQ+ should still be questioned.
Because here in my country, many K-Pop fans really hate gay people. Look at how ironic that is. They're so excited and enthusiastic when they see two idols of the same gender looking like romantic partners, but they hate it so much, calling it, mentally ill, needing God's help, sinful future inhabitants of the deepest hell, or even openly disgusted when they see it in people around them.
And of course, if someone like me gets angry about this, I'll be the one who gets insulted and cursed at by their fans.
K-Pop hypocrisy has spread to almost all K-Pop fans and they still don't realize it. And it's really sad.
So like I said, if the K-Pop world wants to change, then K-Pop itself has to change it, not questioning the humanity of fans. The victims here are not only idols who are forced to do all that and all fans who are consumed by it.
But I heard all idols know about shippers and some of them do it intentionally just to "please their fans." So, yeah idk anymore. I just wish, yes this is a wish... I wish people could see it from between the idol and fans.. just like me. You know... Not defending idols and not defending fans or not blaming both sides.
Because it seems that only in that way, everyone can collectively ask all K-Pop agencies to change their ways because even without using LGBTQ+ in it, their fanservice is already very toxic for idols and fans.

The problem is that SM's stock is falling and AESPA's core fans account for a large portion of the group's sales. If those obsessive fans leave, sales will drop significantly. Then, investment within SM will also decrease. After all, popular singers need to be loved by the public, but in K-pop, the power of core fans is too great. The proportion of sales is too large. It's so amazing that it even rocked the Billboard charts. Unfortunately, I can't abandon these obsessive fans. The marketing was wrong from the beginning. Many groups have this problem. Drop them and you'll lose sales and lose power on the charts. This is because the artist's capabilities failed to captivate the public in the first place. It's really unrealistic to hope that fans' perception will change. Since the structure is to make money from these obsessive core fans, idols have no choice but to cater to their wishes.
There is no way there are fans who allow idols to date and buy them hundreds of albums. They think idols belong to their fans. So spend money like that.

Who's say Karina isn't human? Her toxic fans? Or who?
Sorry, I usually don't like to write comments or reply to someone's comments but after reading your comment I thought of a lot of things lol
Especially from your statement saying, many idols at 30 are unmarried or difficult to raise children over 30?
You make it sound like K-Pop fans are the ones causing such serious problems 😂
I wonder, are they that powerful to regulate the whole country? Since South Korea has the lowest birth and marriage rates, also high suicide rates.
You mentioned a very specific and personal age like at that age all women should be married and have children.
Well, if that's what they want and it's their choice no one can stop them.
Wouldn't it be better if all idols dated, got married and soon had as many children as possible to save the country from extinction?
I remind you that all idols are free to do anything in their lives, no one has the right to forbid it or can stop it. Even if it's crazy/toxic/fanatical fans, they are not that powerful.
All human beings including idols/celebrities are the biggest power holders in their own lives, including choosing which path they want to take.
Even the first second when they choose to become a K-Pop idol, and I think they all already know the good and bad sides of the industry.
So why is Karina apologizing for living her life? Let's try to stop blaming those toxic fans for a minute.
Don't you see it? The ones who support her as a human being, who support her happiness, are so many? Her supporters are so numerous, they almost overshadow the hatred.
But why did she still write that apology letter?
      Forced by the agency? Maybe.
But why do people keep blaming the fans?
Most of them are just products of the obsessive K-Pop culture.
Why not just choose to ignore them? Honestly, she can really do it.
But I won't lie without such fans, idols' popularity and income probably wouldn't be as big as it is now. But isn't it worth it if she really wants to pursue her happiness in life?
So, who's really depending on whom here?

Problem for Karina is that despite her (big!) talent, she is first and foremost popular because of her visuals. This is top visuals' curse, and it will never change. I see where you’re coming from, but I think it’s essential to recognize that an idol’s worth extends far beyond their visuals, even if that’s a significant factor in their popularity. Everyone deserves the freedom to pursue personal happiness, regardless of their job. While it’s true that some fans might have idealized views, at the end of the day, real support means wanting happiness for the idols we admire, including Karina. It’s about time the industry and its fans evolve to respect and support idols' personal lives as much as their professional ones.

Unfortunately, the K-pop industry makes a lot of its money from its obsessive core fans. Core fans account for a large portion of sales. Of course, there are groups like BTS or Blackpink that have achieved great success in both the public and fandom, but their number is very small. BTS was not free from this problem either.
AESPA also disappeared from public attention after the next level. The chart performance was not good. There has been an increased reliance on obsessive core fans. These are people who are devoted to their idols and buy hundreds of albums. It is too unrealistic to hope that such people will change their perception. They want the idol to be theirs. That's why you spend so much money. If idols want to be free from these obsessive fans, they must captivate the public with their musicality. A representative success story is IU. He is a singer who catches two birds with one stone: fandom and the public. AESPA is not at that level yet. In the end, you can't be free from your core fans. Because profits decrease. This is why SM stock prices fell significantly. It will be difficult for companies to make large investments in AESPA anymore. It is an unprofitable product.
Something went wrong at the marketing stage. The K-pop industry wants the love of the fandom more than the love of the public. The company considers communication and relationships with fans more important than the idol's musical ability. I feel this way from the planning stage. Most of the time, idols are grouped together and produced. It’s not enough to show the musical aspects of each idol. It's easy to show the chemistry between singers. Appearance and style are very important right from the audition stage. Have you ever seen an ugly idol? There really is very little.
Idols who are pretty and handsome have core fans. They become people who make your heart flutter. At the trainee stage, personality is considered important. Always be humble, kind and considerate. Idols learn everything, including gestures, speaking style, and more. Idols must be polite.
From the time they were new, they never talked about dating, sex-related things, alcohol or cigarettes. They only talk about fans. The company does not allow idols to meet people of the opposite sex.
These are easy to get obsessed and fanatical core fans. There are so many services for fans who buy a lot of albums and goods for them.
The company probably thinks that this method is easy and safe to realize high profits. I think that the company's ability to induce such fans is also problematic, rather than just the fans' perception.
The K-pop industry needs to stop being a pseudo-romantic business.

Your insights shed light on a complex aspect of the K-pop industry that often goes undiscussed. The reliance on core fans for financial success is indeed a double-edged sword, creating a cycle where companies might prioritize fan service over artistic growth. The examples you've given, like BTS, Blackpink, and IU, highlight different paths within the industry, showing that while fandom support is crucial, widespread public appeal based on musicality can also lead to lasting success.
The strategy of appealing primarily to core fans can lead to a limited scope for idols' personal lives and artistic expression, as seen with strict controls over their image and interactions. This approach does raise profits but at the cost of potentially stifling the artists' growth and authenticity.
Your call for the K-pop industry to evolve beyond the pseudo-romantic business model and focus more on musical abilities and individuality is compelling. It suggests a shift towards a more sustainable model that respects both artists' and fans' boundaries, allowing for a healthier relationship between them. This shift could not only help idols like aespa to grow musically but also to create a more genuine connection with a broader audience, ultimately benefiting everyone involved.

Exactly! It's high time everyone remembers that idols are humans first. They deserve happiness just like the rest of us. It's pretty wild that some 'fans' would turn against Karina for simply being in a relationship. Love isn't a reason to hate or cancel anyone. Let's give idols the space to live their lives. Imagine being in their shoes-it's tough. Karina, or any idol for that matter, doesn't deserve negativity for personal choices. Let's spread more love and understanding. 💖

This is just getting out of hand. Making your idol apologize for dating someone is the worst thing a fan can do. Absolutely, it’s gotten way out of hand. Expecting an idol to apologize for something as personal and natural as dating just doesn’t sit right. We’re here for their music and talent, not to police their personal choices. Being a fan doesn’t give anyone the right to criticize them for living their lives. It’s about time we all remember the human behind the idol. 🙏

I wonder why something like this is such a big deal. Isn't it normal for a human being to fall in love?, is it because she is an idol that she can't date? This won't even be bad for Karina's career. Huhhh, why is the kpop industry so strange now

    • @Cybele09
      @Cybele09 3 місяці тому

A lot of cash is made these days off para-social relationships. "Fans" really think they know their idols because they see a brief few minutes of their day. Companies are also very guilty of selling this closeness to the public and this narrative of the perfect human being who's just casually waiting for the perfect fan to come along.
It's downright hilarious to me how naive people are. Of course these drop-dead-gorgeous people, surrounded by others just as pretty as they are, are dating. Some are just better at covering it up than others.

Right,it’s pretty odd how much of a big deal this is made into. Falling in love is one of the most human experiences out there, idol or not. They are in their 4th year since debut, its peak for their career. Moreover she is the most famous member of Aespa. Now she is being bashed and receives hate, its heart breaking. @@BouchraBsl-tr7ojUmm, i'm so sorry but we can't compare Blackpink and Aespa. No hate, but even before Jennie's dating scandal came out, Blackpink was already much bigger than Aespa is now.
Despite so many factors and differences between these two groups, Blackpink has been globally popular since their debut.
Sorry again and please correct me if I'm wrong, but even "Black Mamba" now (which is Aespa's most prominent achievement), still can't beat "Whistle" or "Boombayah" at that time. After that there was "Playing with Fire", "As If It's Your Last", and "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du", Even from the number of mv views, or awards, they cannot be compared and as I remember at that time they also collaborated with Dua Lipa.
And yes as you said, after two years since debut... they got all that in just two years since debut.
Again, despite so many factors and differences. They can't be compared but if they must, since you brought it up...
We can compare how success and popularity have a huge impact on scandal like this...
Because Blackpink was already so big at the time, so when Jennie's dating scandal came out, it had no impact on Blackpink and YG.
I mean... there was hate from the fans, but they didn't get a big impact you know... like a big loss to the company.

However, talent and authenticity tend to stand the test of time. While the immediate reaction might seem overwhelming, artists often find ways to rebound and even grow from such experiences. As much as i want to say, let her live her life and be happy. That aint gonna happen until she drops out of K-pop. Kpop as an industry did this to it itself. They made it like that to lure in kids and teenagers to make more money with the dulu fantansy of their idols. And most of their money comes from that. I like K-pop a lot and watch it, but i barely buy albums because i can just watch it on youtube for free. The majority of people that go out and buy the idols stuff are either hardcore fans or dulu fans. As long as the industry stays the same. Kpop dating will always be seen as a sin to a lot of their core fans. Well, probably won't ever change because the company ain't gonna throw away all that money.
