- Sadly, Vanilla passed away on July 1st 2018. He was 2 and a half years old. This is Vanilla's final video, with all his best bits, in memory of him
RIP Vanilla 🌈🐹🥜
For everybody who didn't follow my Instagram at the time, Vanilla suddenly fell ill one day. He was immediately taken to the vets where it turned out he had a respiratory illness which is common but very dangerous for older hamsters. Since hamsters are prey animals, they hide their symptoms well and by the time they actually appear ill, it can unfortunately be too late to help them. The treatments were not effective. His health went downhill very quickly and within 2 days, he passed away in my hands.
I announced Vanilla's passing on all my social media in July and said on the UA-cam community that I would take a break and then post the final few unfinished Vanilla videos when I was ready, then finally a memorial. Unfortunately, that did not reach everybody. Vanilla deserved a proper memorial video, but it took me several months before I could even look at the footage of him again. Making this video in particular was very difficult. I apologise it ended up taking this long, but here it is.

If you’re reading this, I hope you feel better. Hamster lives are small, and compared to how long they live, you may feel as if it was no time at all. On the contrary, vanilla spent his whole life with you, and in his tiny hamster mind, you were there for every day of it! You gave vanilla a complete and joyous life 😊

You know, vanilla helped me a lot. She helped me build a hammy house, or hamster pancakes. (My hammys fav). Vanilla, you were always in good hands with your owner, she would make/do anything for you. But now, you are in a better place where you are more free, and could meet more hammys. Hopefully in hamster heaven you would see my hamster Whiskers, and Maybe they could be friends. My hamster died not to recently, so you would probably find her up there. @@dierdrecole8027 they rarely ever correct people who mistake vanillas gender so it isn't a surprise and like I said it is unnecessary but I wanted to clarify it to them. Correcting them does not make me a buzzkill or anything it's just a correction.
Don’t worry, vanilla is never going to forget you. You gave him an amazing life! I have a hamster, but he is really old, nearly 3. Sadly he has a Tumor in his stomach. I took him to the vets and the vets gave him some pain killers but said there is nothing that she can do to make him better and he will pass away in a few days. :( if you have a hamster, make sure to make the most of them before it’s too late. They don’t have that long of a lifespan. Edit: he did well and lasted another month, only discovered a few hours ago that he is gone… 💔
ANOTHER edit: I’ve been recovering from it, even though this happened 9 months ago, I still think about him every day

Pets pull at my heart strings I lost my 2 big boy rats vet said they couldn't do anything as 1 had a stroke and the other couldn't walk oh legs they was both 3 years they died just before their birthday 😭 our cat bubbles had cancer nothing could be done vet said we lose her 2017 age 10
My pets are everything I have 6 rats 4 cats and 2 hampsters and they Al get on my hampsters are cute ghost white and fluffy 5 months old with red eyes and our new hampster spirt white with brown and ginger and black both boys cute I get morning and evening cuddles they have lovely nature to me and they love my cats and rats they Al act like brothers and sisters yet Al different animals

My last hamster left this world today. She was getting old and she couldn't resist more time here. She was 2 years and some months.
And I wanna thank you because of your channel, I gave her the most delicious food and she had fun times playing with me. I lost her sister one year ago, but this time, really hurts a lot more. I can't tell you how much joy he brought me, I'm obsessed with miniatures & watching him interact with all the adorable tiny things you made him never failed to make me smile. I've watched so many sad videos before, but I've never actually cried watching one until now. I used to have an old UA-cam account and this was my favorite channel. Vanilla always made my day better. I always watched your videos of Vanilla when I was feeling down. A few years ago, my hamster Nibbles passed away, but I remember making him a cake recipe I found on your channel. I remember rushing to the store to buy all the ingredients I needed for the cake. Vanilla made me so happy. He will forever be missed. R.I.P Vanilla, the hamster that got me through hard times.

I'm so sorry. So many people loved him including me. Vanilla was a speedy hamster. He was a little scoop of ice cream. He was super fast he was the flash hamster. But still I can't believe this has happened I'm so sorry and at least you have lots of great memories caught on camera. I'm sure everyone watching this was crying again I am so sorry.
