ahh, the hole punching method....I have a lot of P6-150 NTSC tapes, took 2 of them to put in 2 separate Hi8 camcorders (Sony TR101 and TR500) after they were hole-punched The quality actually DID improve!! Might do this more often tbh
yes it will write much better image quality the camcorder recognizes the cassette as HI8 and so it will write HI8 instead of video 8 when you break the hole in the cassette
@@salvatorev_ Thank you. I thought it wasn't just about the hole. For example, with a chemical composition. But it turned out that everything is simpler.
@@bordeaux4867 the chemistry on the film changes, but there is not much difference in the image quality, maybe there is a little more statics in the video but that does not bother much, anyway this technology is analog and not digital do not expect good quality anyway
yes but the tape inside is not capable to record the higher frequencies. The result is more noise and short black lines at edges in the picture. Old trick but not a good one.
the actual quality of the tape has not changed. Its just like relabelling the volume knob on your stereo. calling it 20 instead of 10 does not make any difference
You are unrelated to analog technology this is a Hi8 format , the hifi stereo it's the sound and it's something different! , on the cassettes that are 8mm there are two formats Hi8, Video8, if you put in a camera that writes in Hi8 format a cassette that is video 8 the camera will automatically write in video 8 but if you break a small hole in the tape the camera will recognize the tape as Hi8 format and write in Hi8 format instead of video 8!

Is the recording quality better after creating a hole?

@@soviettouhoubase2004 I read on Wikipedia that the chemical composition changes between these formats. So it's not the same thing.
Качество становится немного лучше, но не настолько, если записывать на оригинальную Hi8.
