So much elegance in these musical pages, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, dynamism, nuances of sweetness, even a touch of humor and in the interpretation, really.
Most enjoyable. Really well orchestrated as one would expect from Bax but musically he finds a lighter touch for this ballet score than is often the case.
FIVE DAMN COMMERCIALS! That's one on the average of every four minutes. I'm sorry to say this, but if someone wanted to get us to hate the kids with the brain tumors for interrupting our music, this would be the way to do it.
Pay the twelve bucks a month for commercial-free listening; you undoubtedly deserve it and it's worth every penny. One of the wisest investments I've ever made...
Truly one of his most delightful pieces of music.
Beautiful piece of music! A few years ago I didn't even know Bax existed!
Arnold Bax was quite prolific. I have many CDs of his music and love most of it.
I grew up in England since 1948 and had never heard of him! 'Till youtube and discovered I had missed out.
So much elegance in these musical pages, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, dynamism, nuances of sweetness, even a touch of humor and in the interpretation, really.
Such a contrast to his much more emotionally abstract symphonies.
Es tan bella la paz q este compositor me da! Casi como Delius!!!
Totalmente de acuerdo con vos Isabel!
under rated and little known but superb
その通り。Baxは過小評価されている。
This "Pastorale" ambiance, makes me go back to V. Williams and Debussy. Bax was versatile indeed.... Congratulations.
I love this tone poem so hard.
As beïng a fan of the Brittish composers, I love this one! Sophisticated lines that create a beautiful piece of music!
amazing music from bax
Splendid piece of music!
Music beyond beauty x
Strongly reminds one of Delius -- quality, serene, impressionistic .
.. beautiful..
Poetic and mesmerizing. In all very meditative indeed :)
o h my……simply wonderful!….he really could create atmosphere……find Tintagel……listen to it….and you are there….
Most enjoyable. Really well orchestrated as one would expect from Bax but musically he finds a lighter touch for this ballet score than is often the case.
Interesting observation about the Scandinavian touch. I was thinking shades of Hugo Alfven before I read your post.
I'm amaze-merized
Ok, everybody be cool. YOU, be cool!
Very nice!!
Bax with a Delian and Scandinavian touch.
The harp solo maybe a little too obvious? :-)
It's interesting that Bax quoted a few bars from Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" (from his "Midsummer Night's Dream") to end the piece.
Are there program notes for these pieces? Would love to know the inspiring sources of this lovely work.
I wonder how he would have done as a movie soundtrack composer. He certainly had the talent!
Music for the famous British version of Oliver Twist, I think.

Adblock Plus, free and easy download, I haven't seen an ad on youtube in years. adblockplus.org/
Adblock. Use your head instead of complaining.
Parece que usaron un editor de audio deficiente, pues hay cortes entre cada fragmento de la obra o mejor, entre cada track.
Who is playing? Performers????
London Philharmonic Orchestra under Bryden Thomson.
Adverts have been inserted in this piece totally ruining it. "For The People." Bollox
