Multiflora Rose Management: Five Years of Prescribed Goat Grazing (October 12, 2023)

Join Allegheny College's Dr. Richard Bowden, Allegheny GoatScape's Executive Director Gavin Deming, and Erie National Wildlife Refuge Biologist Yianni Laskaris as they discuss a multidisciplinary effort to monitor and manage a heavily infested, 23-acre site at Erie National Wildlife Refuge's Sugar Lake Division. The presenters will discuss several aspects of the project including goat care, community engagement, challenges associated with a multi-year restoration effort, and the methods used to measure the impact of goat grazing on a regenerating forest habitat.
