    Attacking as a fullback and then sprinting back when the opposing team does a counterattack takes a lot of fitness. More than you think

      Yes its probably the most demanding position on the field.

    You said as i right back i should play the third CB but should i leave the winger alone

    • @trystanlamberttl
      @trystanlamberttl 7 років тому

      Lonnie Draus yes, if that winger gets the ball then you will slide and push them, try to jockey them until everyone has shifted over and then try winning a tackle

    What do I do when there's a man a little past our half of the field about 10 yards from me and a man behind me. Do I attack the man in front or run back to mark the man that could receive the pass? But if all our backs were up in front of that guy in the back wouldn't it be offsides? Sorry I'm new to the game and this is my biggest problem. I never know when and who to attack.

    • @LiMai__
      @LiMai__ 6 років тому +1

      Lui the man 10 yards away from you is supposed to be marked by your team mate and the man behind you is the man you are supposed to be marking. The man on the ball should be marked by either the winger or the midfielder on your side, and the man near you or running in behind you is the one you should mark. Hope this helped!👍

    I had a scenario last week at my soccer match where as a left back I saw my winger needed support so made an overlapping run. Although he turned the ball over. Since I made the run there was a large space on the left side where the opposition utilised the space and scored. Who is in the wrong here me for conceding the goal on my side or a fellow teammate who didn't cover me when I went up.

    • @OCDHD
      @OCDHD 8 років тому +1

      +hatzabros its the winger because he does not understand the concept of a winger, he thinks its all attacking futbol. Not your fault, but next time speak to him about the tactic

    • @Eltuco-vc4ff
      @Eltuco-vc4ff 8 років тому +1

      It's the wingers fault. If a winger sees you doing the run he must pass it and you cross. Your center back also should've covered you, but it's mostly the wingers fault. I say this from personal experience as I am a left back too.

    • @manuel21863
      @manuel21863 7 років тому +1

      you are at fault. one if you run you have to be certain that you will maintain possession. watch habits of the wingers to see if they have the awareness necessary to make the play, communication before the game is also crucial to do plays that people are expecting, after that you have to make sure your runs are angled correctly to be an easy pass for your teammates. also when you run up you want to do it when you can overload the area. look up the inverted fullback for hints on how to position. none of this will work all the time if your team is not on the same page but knowing what scenarios you can use these chess moves gives you huge skills off the ball

    I have a question Dylan. As a rightback, if I go and join the attack and the winger On my side stays where he is in the space I left behind, what should I do? Do I stay back or take advantage of the fact I am not being tracked?

    • @natherc0187

      Go forward and tell your centre back to cover for you

    • @ImSenne
      @ImSenne 9 років тому +2

      If you're always going 2 on 1 with your winger than their leftback will tell their winger to come help out in defense. Just go forward and tell a defensive midfielder to help out the defense so that your back is covered !

    • @MegaCooldodo
      @MegaCooldodo 9 років тому +1

      Ok thanks. One more question, should I always be marking the opposing winger at all times when off the ball, even when the ball is far away or should I only mark the winger when his team is attacking

  • @seanneo2366

    When I dribble forward as a full-back , I always get forced out of the field. How can I not get forced out of the field and be effective in dribbling forward.

      Tiki taka and overlap with your winger

    • @xDELFYonceagain
      @xDELFYonceagain 8 років тому +2

      +Sean Neo Don't dribble forward. Pass to a CM or a winger, then go forward when you are off the ball and their defenders are occupied - then you should recieve the ball from your CM or your winger if you over load.

    Very risky video this. Yes, at the highest level, Fullbacks are now attackers. But if you play like this at age group, club levels - you won't ever get picked because they will think you are a hot shot.

      Josh the Walrus As a RB, your first job is to defend. Especially at lower league levels, they'd never tolerate a Dani Alves wanna be.

      If you're a full back creating goals and chances how is that bad. If anything that's going to increase your chances of getting scouted. As long as you defend well I don't think anyone will think you're showing off.
