California West I think if they stick it in both nostrils depends on where you go to. When I got my test they only did it in one nostril and that was it. When I went back to school, they were offering tests for students and I had a friend that went to get it done and they did it in one nostril as well and that was it. My test was in SC and I go to school in NC.

You can take the test through your nose, which is more effective or some places do saliva testing, but not a lot. The nasal one doesn't hurt, it just makes you wanna sneeze.
I my country we have three ways of testing for the virus testing we have the nose test we have the eliza test (they take a smple of your blood and chek it for Anti bodies ) and a test where they take a sample of your saliva from the back of the mouth for testing
