The skill of the young Loktev dancers is always impressive. But earlier generations always seemed to be having fun and their enjoyment came across in the performance and communicated a joi de vivre. These kids look like they are doing a routine and while their performance seems to be technically more precise there is no joy in it. Perfection is not everything in art. It doesn't matter if the odd kid makes a tiny mistake or grins at their friend as often happened in earlier versions. If the dancers are having fun the audience will as well.
I'll admit I haven't had the pleasure of seeing the earlier generations (yet) but having checked a few clear still frames the girls certainly seem to be all smiles. The boys in the main are a bit more solemn , but maybe that's a 'boy thing'. :-)
The Loktev kids normally always seem so relaxed and happy. It just seemed to me that the boys were a bit glum on this occasion and hoped that nothing was upsetting them. I spent much of my working life with professional child performers and it was always important to try and keep them happy. Though that wasn't always easy.
Puede muy bien serlo. No hay una sola actuación en la misma composición, los niños cambian todo el tiempo. Alguien creció, alguien se enfermó, alguien tuvo exámenes en la escuela, etc. Además, la escena aquí es muy amplia, esto también hace sus propios ajustes.

They have not performed on stage for over a year (this is the age of children) due to covid restrictions. Scary! ))))))))) Further it will be better!
