    W💙W! Stradbroke Island looks beautiful! The water is such a pretty baby blue. Is it warm water there? What a place to camp! Your zone looked nice, lots of trees. The sunrise was gorgeous ☀️

      The water was amazing this trip... lighter than the last time we went...it was so nice. We were swimming for ages... not quite summer yet but the water was a little cooler, but still tolerable.
      I liked all the trees, but car runs the fridge and our electronics off solar so we had to keep an eye on it.
      Sunrise was a perfect spot. ....if you remember the travel queenland Doc from a couple of weeks ago..the starting time lapse was in the same spot. Footage we took last time 😁👍

      Cheers Bernie and thanks for watching. Straddie is an awesome little gem and hoping I can continue to produce more content from there soon. Just have to come up with more ideas...lol.
      We were lucky to get some great weather. Not so lucky here in Agnes where my Musgrave trip tomorrow has just been canned 😥

      @@AquariusTraveller So true! I have a family in tow and they like to know there is a toilet handy. shower, too, if possible. We are tempted to try Kinkuna Beach just south of Bundaberg but there is NO toilet or shower so that will take a bit of planning.

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  3 роки тому +1

      @@matthalpin1981 I have been wanting to try kinkuna for a while. A friend organised a group trip there a few weeks ago..... but like you said...no toilet. That turns me off a bit.
      Our shower was a bit dodgy this time, but we will make adjustments for next trip. 👍

    Ahh you two had some great weather for camping. This area looks like a great place to camp, especially with your set up!
    The sand/beach/water looked so gorgeous during your stay. I really liked the wave footage too!
    I was a little curious about getting stuck in the sand. Seems that is common.
    Overall another great video 😁 and glad we got to watch it before we head out again for a week.

      We did have some amazing weather that weekend. Although, the drive home ended up pretty bad with a storm rolling over quickly.
      We are still adjusting our set up and probably making a few more purchases soon. Last year we were in a camper van and very comfortable, but it doesn't go 4wd and limits areas.
      This weekend we ditched the camping and staying in a cabin on the beach..... can't beat the aircon since it's starting to warm up...lol
      Thanks a bunch for watching guys 👍😁

      @@AquariusTraveller oh nooo sorry to hear about the storm!
      I can understand why you would want to transition to a 4wd set up to visit more places...and switch it up with a cabin on the beach too :)

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  2 роки тому +1

      Hey there...anywhere would be good but your set up will determine the best spot for you.
      It's more off grid and self suffient at the end but sites do have more direct views of the beach.....or alternativly the toilets available in the single digits with site behind the dunes.

    Thanks for sharing your trip and give us a run through! I can't quite link up the numeric zones you've explained to the alphabetic zones currently used by them. Do you know if their "Zone C/D" is accessible during high tide at all?

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  2 роки тому

      Hi Brendan, It seems since I released this video, Minjerribah camping have changed from Numbered zone to numeric but the set up is still the same. Your C & D zones seem to be equivalent to my 9 & 10 mentioned in the video.
      I only used the beach for access outside of high tide times, so not that familiar with the track behind. However, I can see on google maps that the amity point road might have a track running behind that section of the campgrounds and could be possible - But I'm not sure if they always are.
      Also note that what I saw of the 4WD tracks behind, was very thick and skinny - probably not the best if your towing.
      Anyway, My recommendation would be to access outside of your low tide times first along the beach, then check the behind tracks out, or maybe find someone that's used them for more information.
      I hope that helps:)

    Very nice, Chris! Looks like a lovely trip. I still find it strange that people actually lower the pressure in their tires...I mean, I get why, but we simply don't have to do that where I am. My idiot brother-in-law actually overinflates his tires by going with the max pressure on the tire, instead of using the pressure on the sticker inside the door. Aye aye.
    Editing is certainly picking up speed, as well as the mix of footage you gather on these adventures. It's a pleasure to watch you move along.
    Happy weekend! Cheers!

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  3 роки тому

      You would be surprised with how many people get stuck when that don't lower the pressure in their tyres. Very easy to get stuck when you haven't...especially with the soft sand.
      Truthfully...a lot of areas you could get away with it. But you need the extra traction sometimes.

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  3 роки тому

      Maybe you don't have that soft of sand where you are ?

      Always trying new things I see from other creators... and learning more about mixing it up. Going to be close and hoping to get to 1000 subs by the end of the year...wish me luck 😁👍

      @@AquariusTraveller Arvo! 😉 Yeah…most everything around me is paved. Roads that aren’t paved are dirt, and not sand. 😜
      Best of luck with hitting your target, but keep in mind that you can’t control the # of subscribers. You CAN control quality bits though. Don’t beat yourself up if the goal isn’t met. 😉
      I also have a ferry ride vid scheduled. How coincidental!

      Yeah I had my 2wheel drive vehicle on the dirt this morning ...easy enough.
      The soft sand is normally stuff we walk on and go ankle deep straight away.... harder to drive on for sure.
      There are so many 4 wheel drive spots in Australia. Although, most the high profile areas you can get to in a normal car

    Love the Vid....Which location (tracks) would you suggest for caravan access ?

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  2 роки тому

      Thanks for the feedback...glad you liked it. Not that skilled on the tracks being that we accessed from the beach only at low tide.
      I did see a few caravans down the off grid sites... not sure where they accessed from.
      Sorry I can't help much more... might pay to find a video with someone that has a caravan.

    Hi whats the beach and the roads into the campgrounds like are they soft and boggy like Bribie or fairly hard but just dirt roads.

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  9 місяців тому

      You can see in the video when we walked in and out to the beach.... probably more sand and boggy but I don't think as much as bribie. Although I thought bribie had more elevation to get up into the site , where straddy was flatter.
      However I think this video also had drone footage of someone getting stuck trying to drive in.
      There is also a track towards the back of this section that you can use at high tide, but we didn't use it this trip.
